  1. I think if they were to end the Brand Split, it would be a disaster since they are just starting to establish it in the past few months.
  2. I quite can't see Kurt Angle pairing with Cena right after they just feuded. Plus, Rey Mysterio wouldn't be on a team with a guy who basically tried to KILL him at Backlash. Kurt and Cena should both be treated better, and each Survivor match should be within the context of the division.
  3. An awesome outcome to that would've been if Shawn Michaels actually was the guy who pulled the briefcase. He was commissioner at the time and did have a grudge against Austin. That would've been another proving ground for Michaels to be the "hit and run" assailant a year later, but of course we got Rikishi.
  4. I'm betting one of my friends (a former wrestling fan, casual viewer) 20 dollars that Steve Austin lost to Savio Vega (NOT Bret Hart) which led to Ted DiBiase's exit from the WWF in 96. He insists it was Bret Hart. Can someone direct me to a website or tell me which pay per view it was (I think it was the Carribean Strap Match in the 5/96 IYH) where Vega defeated Austin?
  5. That just shows you the WWE's complete lack of logic. The creative team really doesn't know how to book anybody (not named McMahon/Helmsley).
  6. I don't recall The Rock getting flamed for making films. Rock is making a shitload of money for himself, and I applaud him. I don't want to see Austin on t.v. with this bad gimmick either, but it's obvious he's just trying to make money for himself. I don't think Austin would walk out again because they probably paid him a crapload to come back anyway. I just think he should've retired after he put Rocky over.
  7. 1990: Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior (WM 6) 1991: Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect (Summerslam) 1992: Royal Rumble 1993: Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect (King of the Ring) 1994: Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart (WM 10) 1995: Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon (Summerslam) 1996: Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart (Survivor Series) 1997: Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart (WM 13) 1998: Steve Austin vs. Dude Love (OTE) 1999: Steve Austin vs. The Rock (Backlash) 2000: Triple H vs. Cactus Jack (RR) 2001: Steve Austin vs. Chris Benoit (5/31) 2002: Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit (Unforgiven) 2003: [so Far] Chris Benoit vs. Eddy Guerrero (Vengeance)
  8. Even me being an Austin fan, I think Austin should've retired after he said his speech the Raw after Wrestlemania. He gave props to The Rock for a great ending to their feud, and he thanked the fans for sticking with him. The Co-GM role has tarnished his legacy a lot (plus the events of last summer as well). As much as I hate to say it, I agree with the people who think Austin should not be on television, because his character is completely tired, and out-of-whack with the authoritarian twist. Yeah, I loved his matches and I thought it was great that Austin gave us one more classic at WM XIX by putting over The Rock (finally), but the kind of program he has been performing has been dreadful to watch, even though I am a staunch supporter of his. I guess after the divorce and court appearances, he really needs the cash. I don't want to see him leave out of spite or hate for him, but I'd rather he leave now and save what's left of his legacy, which is what makes me an Austin-fan to this day. Above all else, all high-profile figures are remembered by what they do LASTLY in their careers, and I don't want to remember Austin's by thinking of the time he and Eric Bischoff had a burping contest.
  9. People have overrated the show, based on their low expectations going into it I guess, but people have also underrated the show as well. Three matches were entertaining and nothing (other than the McMahon fiasco) was too offensive. It wasn't an excellent show by any standard but it wasn't bad either. A pretty good one actually.
  10. If Austin goes to SD, no way they'll put him over Brock Lesnar or Big Show at this point, coming off big wins.
  11. This whole Vince/Steph scenario has so many WRONG things about it.
  12. It makes his "stick it straight up your candy ass" catch phrase that much more weird. ........ ....... I think you might be right. I can't see The Rock snap his wrist and pat Travolta on the ass.
  13. The heel Angle is better, and is tougher in the ring to an extent, but when you think about it, the heel Angle character is still perceived as a joke, but just more aggressive.
  14. Are you speaking about in-ring persona? If you are, then perhaps you're right, but RVD's persona/character certainly isn't compelling in itself.
  15. No clue, but I can't envision The Rock acting as a homosexual, and maybe I just don't want to.
  16. RVD vs. AJ Styles would be an entertaining feud to see for the NWA World Title, after all the Hulkamania passes.
  17. I think it would be a great idea if the WWE made a "Greatest Feuds" DVD not only from the WWF, but from WCW and ECW as well.
  18. The name "Dog Collar Match" is rediculous in itself. I certainly wouldn't buy an event to see that, and I'm sure most casual fans won't either.
  19. I hope this isn't true. If it is, then Rock is sure going in a weird direction to prove his actor status. Stick to action flicks, Rocky....
  20. Vince still believes they have to have some kind of outlandish gimmick to get people into the match.
  21. Well, what's better? Angle the babyface clown, or Angle the crybaby heel?
  22. Because we all know how the WWE kees their promises...
  23. If Cena does indeed win, then it won't be clean, that way it keeps Angle's "cred".
  24. Wow, this really is the passing of one generation of the Harts. Terrible thing to hear. I'll always remember Stu in the front row concerned about his sons' matches. Thank you Stu, God bless, and have a peaceful rest.
