I just downloaded Eddy/Brock off Kazaa about an hour ago, took me like 8-9 minutes. Such a great match to watch.
-
It'd be very cool if he came out of nowhere with it more often. Gets in the surprise factor.
-
The Main event is basically the reason to order this show. An excellent match with a very good crowd. Rey/Chavito is also a very good match to watch, and the three-way was a fun brawl. Those three are worth watching, the rest is fine for filler (booked well actually).

I doubt it's something about Bret Hart. Why would Vince announce Bret Hart to be at WM XX?
-
During the Austin/Bret submission classic, Bret is punching away at Austin in the corner, and then there's this pause, and all of a sudden Austin just brutally kicks Bret in the balls. Bret sells it like he was shot and screams, clutches his knees together and falls backwards. Plus JR's comment was funny too: "That was down there around Saskatoon! A LOW one!".

No Way Out ratings, opinions, and other stuff.
Austin3164life replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm rating the only matches that mattered. I was at a local Hooter's, and I was expecting a pretty crappy card with one good match, but I got an overall solid card with a great cruiserweight match, an entertaining three-way, and an outstanding Main Event. Brock vs. Eddy (****1/2) Triple Threat (**3/4) Rey vs. Chavo (***3/4) -
Vengeance was a REAL Tag match, whereas No Mercy was another one of those matches which is like a feature of two matches rolled up in one.

Both are excellent, however the Survivor Series is probably the best match the WWE has ever had (with Austin/Rock WM 17 close behind) and probably the smartest. Very deep storytelling, not one spot was blown or didn't make sense in the match's context, and both Austin and Bret were in their top forms (especially Austin, arguably his best match in his career, Bret's too). Like Coffey said, there is some very smart work in the match, where Austin uses a lot of moves to target the chest/neck/upper back and then busts out 4-5 different submission holds towards the end out of desperation (since the Stunner didn't work). All around, I think it's one of the best North American matches of all time.

Kayfabe wise, Triple H will probably cost both men the victory, thus he can have Benoit and HBK kill each other over who gets to go after Triple H's title, while Triple H of course sits there and giggles like a schoolgirl.
-
WAY too early for a Cena World Title reign. Benoit definitely deserves a long run at the top. Give him an HBK feud where he wins mostly all of the matches as well.

Only ***1/2 for the greatness that was Austin/Rock and Austin/Bret? I understand that some people prefer Puro over the WWF/E, but that is underrating the matches. Anyway, here's my list 1. Austin/Rock (17) 2. Austin/Bret (13) 3. Flair/Savage (8) 4. Bret/Owen (10) 5. Steamboat/Savage (3) 6. Bret/Piper (8) 7. DiBiase/Savage (4) 8. Austin/Rock (19) 9. Jericho/Michaels (19) 10. Michaels/Ramon (10)

Not an amazing card for what the WWE has hyped up, but I know everyone is going to bring their A-game, so we should expect a good WM at the very least.

Angle didn't know if he could wrestle at WM XIX. His doctor allowed one more match before his surgery, and Angle picked the WM main event to job the title to Lesnar. Austin wanted to come back full-time, seeing as he hit the gym and bulked up, however his doctor was telling him that his fusion surgery and all of the bumps he took has caused his neck to be permanently fragile, so he could not wrestle full-time ever again. Austin thus wanted to use his retirement match in putting over The Rock clean at WM XIX.

Not even close. Daredevil=shit, Spider-Man=good comic movie. The day they cast Ben Afleck of all people to play Daredevil gave me credence to the movie sucking.

Wolverine is one of the most overrated characters of our time. Sure, he's cool and all, but especially in the last year, we've seen a bajillion Wolverine team-ups and mini-series.
-
The reason I can't stand Hulkamania is because DiBiase never got his deserved World Title reign(s), seeing as he was clearly the most over heel of that period, and a great worker. If DiBiase won the title at WM 4, to have a year long reign, it would've made the WM 5 buyrate that much larger, because people would've been dying for him to get beaten by Hogan.

When Cena was still a heel, his promos had more depth. Now that he's a face, he's somewhat repetitive, which is a bad thing. I remember the bad Angle/Cena feud, there was one great segment on a Smackdown in Hartford, where Cena cut a great promo on Angle, and Angle responded with a pretty good one as well. Only good segment of that feud. Thankfully, the match saved the feud.

Jim Ross SPEAKS on Talent Firings
Austin3164life replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in The WWE Folder
Jim Ross- "We need to make room for some of the developing talent. They are a rarity in the business. Of course, I'm talking about guys like Matt Morgan and John Heidenreich. We simply couldn't make room for Chris Kanyon, seeing as we are all about the evolution of the business..." -
It'll definitely sell, I know a lot of guys who are wrestling fans, and probably 80% of them are Cena fans. I'm just weary of the WWE milking him too soon, because it'll be stupid if he gets stale by the time he's 28-29.
-
The Smackdown Tag belts need to be on TWGTTP. They can garner enough heat where the face teams chase them for a while. For some freshness, they could make cruiserweight teams for a short-while to chase them as well, so it's not just APA vs. TWGTTP #5612365481.

I love Cena, and I think he has definite potential, but a DVD this early is pretty weird. They shouldn't oversell Cena too fast, or he might wear off, which is why I was against a complete face turn. However, Cena's done well (by not making friends with faces or heels). They should just stick to Cena's t-shirts to sell out first, and maybe in a year or two give him a DVD. All of his big matches (Taker, Angle, Benoit, Brock) resulted in a clean loss.

Benoit hits the flying headbut on Triple H, Shawn comes in with a chair, nails Benoit, and pins Triple H for the win. It was Benoit's win to have, and Shawn basically stole it. I hate the scenario, but if they want Benoit to win in his home town, that's a way to set it up.

Who is supposed to win Guerrero/Angle at WM
Austin3164life replied to Vern Gagne's topic in The WWE Folder
Eddy wins, and retains. Kurt seems to have no real direction at this moment (besides becoming #1 Contender), which is a bad thing. I'm not sure if he retires soon or not, but Eddy should have a lengthy reign (Hello, Latino audience). And on Brock/Cena, they should NOT wrestle for a long time. Maybe a few heated segments or run-ins with each other, but keep them away until Cena improves more and until they actually mesh. They're styles don't mesh well AT ALL. -
The three-way is going to be on last, with Brock/Berg second to last, and Eddy/Angle third to last (followed by Taker/Kane and then Show/Cena). No way Triple H is going to give up a main event spot again.

Smackdown has the main event scene, albeit not being booked correctly all the time. That's another problem. They treat the SD ME scene like a joke almost half the time, and people don't take things seriously. If they rejuvinate the ME to have serious feuds with realistic motives all the time (and put on some good matches), then it'll help the rest of the show shine in a way. Look at Raw in 1997. The Main Event scene freshened up with the excellent Austin v. Michaels v. Hart Foundation feud, and it culminated with Austin v. McMahon. The mid-card usually sucked in 1997, but that didn't mean that the ratings slowly increased.
