  1. *BUZZ* WRONG! She, like Harley Quinn before her, was a character created specifically for the animated series. She was just brought to the regular comic earlier this year. If done right, the campiness factor could be toned down enough to make her a contenda. I'm well aware of that; that's why I said "hardly." A large number--although not all--of JLAU fans are comic geeks, some less hardcore than others, but still comic geeks. And Harley transitioned to the comics pretty darn quick, was always way more fun and well-liked, and got her own spinoff. Harley was even in Hush, damnit. How long did it take for them to use Livewire in the comics again? Not quite the same. Plus, you haven't refuted the "3rd stringer" comment. We've gotten Luther so far in SR. Batman Begins sequel will probably have Joker and already BB used Al Ghul. They can still make much better use of Supes' admittedly limited rogues gallery than have her carry a film. Of course, Singer's yet to breathe a word of what he has in mind for the follow-up, and Superman II didn't bother using any established villains except for Luther as a comic foil, and it still turned out okay. Although I guess your final point has merit--Timm and company turned a lame-ass ice pun villain into one of the best Batman villains (although Schumacher ruined that in B&R).
  2. For 13 eps the last set better be cheap. The 18-ep Supes sets were 20 bucks most places. The 13-ep Teen Titans set original retailed for 20 but I've seen it marked down to 14-15 bucks at kmart and walmart, though.
  3. Aside from being a third-stringer that hardly anyone aside from comic geeks have ever heard of? She's too damn campy and would kill the tone that Returns established.
  4. Good for the look but I've never seen Ron speak the same way. Yeah, he sounds huge and gruff but doesn't have quite the attitude IMO. Brainiac would probably end up being cgi or something, though. Metallo, for some reason, I picture as Christopher Walken but probably isn't up for such an action-intensive role. I can't help but wonder if Nuclear Man from Superman IV was supposed to be Bizarro at some point but nixed in favor of...a snarling blond-mulleted euro-trash looking punk with long fingernails. It's funny how that movie is pretty much Mark Pillow's entire acting career, and he was dubbed over with Gene Hackman's voice to boot! Livewire I'm totally against. If she ends up in one of the movies she should be a lackey that's out of the picture in 10 minutes. Cyborg would only work if they did the Death and Return arc, and the iron has long cooled for that. Without D&R we don't really have a way to fit Doomsday in. Prankstar, Toyman, Mxy? I think only Mxy could work and only if he's in an absolutely twisted subplot.
  5. My 72pin connector is on the way, so I'll be glad to let you know how it turns out if you're wary of trying it.
  6. Here's some short impressions (okay, basically a full blown review) of Rockman ZX: http://www.toastyfrog.com/toastywiki/index.../Site/MegaManZX Oh yeah, sounds fantastic.
  7. Almost no RPGs have terribly good gameplay. For it's time, Lunar's battle system was fine, because at least characters position on the battle field mattered somewhat.
  8. Slayers Great is one of the movies. Out of them I've seen: Slayers The Motion Picture (where Lina's looking for that spring of growth--Naga's tolerable here). Slayers Return (lame villain, no real threat except a brainless monster, and too much Naga). Synopsis of SG: And yeah, Try's not nearly as good as Slayers and Slayers NEXT, but I still like it, and it was my first taste of Slayers.
  9. Okay--must be something else you can only do once per fight. It's been about a year since I played it last.
  10. Yeah it sounds cool, but it's pointless and unnecessary. It's one of the easiest RPGs I've ever played, just not terribly fun. Forget about the epic plot; it's pretty much a bunch of mini-quests, and lots of terrible dialogue. Gameplay is pretty much every turn based RPG you've played before, with the added addition of being able to change classes mid-battle (only once tho). Oh, there's something to "timing" your attacks, but it's still very same-old, IMO.
  11. Folks who had a lot emotionally invested in FFX would beg to differ. Fortunately I am not clouded by those folks' perceptions and expectations, since I never played FFX. X-2 sucks regardless.
  12. No, that would be 7 or 8. That crowd pretty much didn't give a damn by the time X came around. That or not existed at all.
  13. Anya really dislikes Nintendo-
  14. Not just you. Yes. and correction to my above post--actually it's Terror Beyond 2 which is skipped over, not Hereafter 2, because I was going by the episode listing on the case. So yeah, there are a few screwups going on here.
  15. Yeah the ending was not the best. I liked the forshadowing of Luthor running for president, as that makes me mark out. The way to tell the J'ons apart is the the Justice Lord version had four arms instead of 2. Sorry but that is the best explanation I can give you. I noticed that one on the commentary track, yeah. It's still a bit tricky but when the JLo J'on is blasted he's not even in the same frame as the League version. so that part isn't as bad as I had first though. Annoying little bug with the DVDs--if you select the play all eps option, some eps it doesn't do that. For instance, Maid of Honor pt. 2 it skipped over, plus Hereafter Pt. 2. I watched Twilight Pt. 2 again with the commentary--again, absolutely awesome episode and you can see how proud they are of Season 2 right there. I used to prefer Tim Daly over George Newburn as Supes (see The Late Mr. Kent), but based on a lot of the eps I'm seeing here, it's really a tough call.
  16. Many of the top Silcon Knights folks are highly critical of Nintendo and the Wii, so fat chance. Oh, and Penny Arcade's latest comic is saying the same thing I was thinking about the situation. "We gotta wait for Too Human to be out first? Damnit."
  17. Konami has patented the title "Guitar Revolution." Which is really funny, since their own Guitar Freaks was pretty much the inspiration for Guitar Hero.

Dynamite Cop is okay but Dynamite Deka/Die Hard Arcade is better. Fighting Force was a blast back when it came out but nearly unplayable today. The zombie beat 'em up was Zombie Revenge. Horrible controls and level designs ruined a potentially awesome game.
  19. No. Silicon Knights was the developer and they own the rights.
  20. A Better World 2 is pretty good...but such a totally lame ending. What the hell happened there? Justice Lord Batman apparently sends the League back, the other Lords try to..um...go back through (weren't they already in our world?), then there's the big fight scene where--bam, all of a sudden Luthor is helping the League (who authorized that pardon?), and passes up the chance to hit the League with the Disruptor? How did he tell the J'ons apart? Why did Justice Lord J'on turn back into his more "human" form instead of his native Martian form? What actually happened to the Lords--were they thrown into the icy waters at the bottom of Supes' fortress? Jailed in our world? Sent back home de-powered? Does Justice Lord Batman now rule the Lords' world now? Couldn't Lord GL just go find his lantern and recharge his ring? His powers aren't inborn. Can Hawkgirl now *not fly* even though she still has the same body and has wings and the closest thing to superpowers she had was that stupid mace? It's like they were past deadline and scribbled the ending down in about 5 minutes before sending it to the storyboarders.
  21. I hope they hurry up and get that piece of crap Too Human game finished already so that they can get back to making good games. It's impossible to take the game seriously or have much genuine excitement when there's so much overinflated BS about the game with nothing to show for it.
  22. You mean by making the Enter the Matrix and Path of Neo games, right? Messiah is a little like Geist, in that you can possess people and stuff.

Yes, it's totally PS2. What 3D game doesn't need a better camera? Remember that these trailers are fairly old, too. Of course it's cheesy as hell. Beat 'em ups should always be that way. Plus it's a Japanese portrayal of the Old West, so it's expected. No love for the Hyper Curb Stomp to the Groin or FOTNS Explodie Punch?
  24. Just found out about this site from a friend, when I mentioned my NES problems. He's actually done the repairs on his NES himself, and all you need is a single replacement part and a screwdriver. http://www.fixthegame.com/tutorials/nes_72...replacement.htm I'm going to try it myself. Yeah, playing NES games on an NES seems rather quaint, but I guess I'm funny like that.
  25. I dont' get it, though. Thanks anyway.
