Agreed on the 2nd point...but...neither theme is very good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxUFdnb5HJI&search=tmnt "...and they're green!" I'm hoping for Usagi Yojimbo and/or Casey Jones.

Def Jam and a buttload of Japanese imports say hello.

is this live action + cgi or all cgi?

That's okay. Replaying the first ep worked for me. As long as there are more eps coming...

They've been doing that for over 5 years and people keep buying the games. One step forward, two back, etc, etc. The more the games become more "realistic" (as in, more WWE-ish), the more of a monstrosity the gameplay becomes. The PS1 games were idiotic arcade affairs, but the current PS2 titles are a total crap stew, trying to be more of a simulation...but on WWE terms. Thus you have the broken beyond belief stat system, commentary that gets worse every year, story modes that hit peaks and deep valleys, less characters with more crappy wrestlers, dumb gimmick matches wasting space, and THEY STILL HAVE NOT FIXED THE CLIPPING! SvR had horribly, buggy, sloppy gameplay. 2K6 was even worse adding more sim elements which made for slow, dull matches that weren't even smooth, fluid, balanced and fun when stuff actually happened. Online play should die if they can't even get offline play right. SvR's online was ok but hard to set up a match with someone specific. 2K6's? When after 40 minutes I could not get a match set up against a friend I wanted to face (buddy locator? It's NEVER EVER CORRECT and DS Wi-fi's Friends Codes beat it a million times over.) I threw in the towel and gave up. Each game seems to show bigger examples of incompetence. Welcome back, Flik. "So if you really want to play Smackdown vs Raw 2007 on your PS3 you can buy the PS2 verison of the game." They could enhance it with the PS3 DualJerk controller, allowing you to shake it violently to make a hoss do a move sloppily and injure opponents.

There is no folder-specific mod for this folder. WWe're typically civilized here, unlike other parts of these forums.

I had seen that, but I thought it seemed overly biased and didn't bother posting it. The animation and gameplay are still going to be subpar.

Cat puns, henchmen out the ass instead of a sole burglar working for her own ends, and periodic alliances with supervillains to kill Bats?!

Budokai Tenkaichi is made by a different development team than the other Budokai games (and isn't even called Budokai in Japan, but "Sparking!") IIRC it's the same folks who made the GC Naruto games, but you need a damn chart to track who makes all the Naruto/DBZ games. Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is in the works for PS2 and Wii.

I finally finished the overrated piece of crap original game. Nice ending. Too bad they puss out and came up with such a lame way to do a sequel. It's not like they were caught by surprise either. They KNEW they were going to probably do a sequel. "Kratos will return" ...in THUNDERBALL!!! I have a laundry list of gripes about a mile long for the first game I'd like to submit to the team for GoW2. Where can I do that? I honestly am amazed at that elevator/sandstorm level David Jaffe proposed, thinking it was such a cool, fun, original idea and seeming so disappointed he didn't get it into the final game. And you know what? It probably will be in GoW2, just because he seems so in love with putting such incredibly shitty, annoying platforming cliches in his game. Although since he's no longer the director, I really hope I'm wrong.

Why would this be a huge blow to THQ? The game barely looked better than a PS2 game anyway.

No online play. Arcade Mode, Survival, Training, Dragon Summoning (getting the secret characters), Create (which is pretty much like Darkstalkers 3/Alpha 3's home edit modes--you just rename/build up one of the standard fighters), and options are your only modes For a 2nd take, Gamespot seems to have the best overall review I've seen for it: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/superdbz/review.html

Haven't played that one, but I did play Bodukai 3. Odd that one had super cancels and this one doesn't. Neat thing about the juggles, too; the homing attack/dash lets you end them with strings with you in the air if you want. With Teena, you can dash in, uppercut, homing attack into the Violence Hold, driving an opponent into the ground. Some mags/sites are plugging this as being for "expert" fighting gamers but it seems to me pretty intermediate stuff, just more cerebral than DBZ games usually are.

Just rented it. Blasted through the arcade mode with 18. The gameplay is good although slower than the budokai games (budokai series emphasized looking like the tv fights above all else, though), but I like it. Your default characters to select from are: Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, krillin, majin buu, androids 16-18, Frieza, Trunks, Cell, Vegeta, Chi-chi and Chi-Chi. Unlockables are King Piccolo, Majin Vegeta, Mecha Frieza, Ultimate Gohan, Videl. The game's been plugged many times as being much like Street Fighter + DBZ. That's not entirely true. It feels more like Rival Schools/Project Justice. There's 4 main buttons for play- Light, Heavy, Jump and Guard. However, you can assign the triggers to do two-button functions (such as throw and the homing attacks. Characters only have about 3-4 "Special moves" and usually a single super move. Plus there's canned strings of 3-4 hits each. Scrubs will LOVE Goku. He has a projectile (which can be charged), the "Blast Fist" which is a shoryuken, and a spinning kick attack. Yes, you already know exactly how to execute them, too. He has a super Kamehameha, and is one of the few with a 2nd super with the ability to transform into a super saiyan. Plus he has a taunt that restores his life. The other saiyans share the transform ability, but their base play styles are much different. Movement includes dashing forward, back-dashing, and sidesteps with quick taps of up and down. Items on the playfield can usually be used as cover. Tapping Jump twice lets you float in the air--which is pretty much just like standing on air, rather than offering any unique gameplay situations. You can't simply dodge and jump around forever, because there's an "action" gauge that drains as you dash/sidestep/etc. Combos can be performed via the standard two-in-ones (which can be started by the canned strings), juggles, and corner traps. Oddly, it seems supercancels aren't here. Overall, a solid game that could use some improvements, but already is leagues better than the other DBZ fighters. I wouldn't say it's worth 40 bucks unless you're totally crazy for the series...maybe wait for Champion Edition.

Nice long movie of gameplay footage: http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/4703 Looks great.

The OAO Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thread

damnit, and I just traded in my Roadhouse VHS. -
Now that I got it working right, maybe I can play more of this game, which I foolishly paid a dollar for thinking it was the beat 'em up like in the arcade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjUz8IT0CYg...ninja%20turtles (Warning: Lots of swearing...) Yeah, it is that bad....

DC Comics announce three animated movies
AndrewTS replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Television & Film
I can wait until forever on this one after that piece of crap Brainiac Attacks. Ugh, why couldn't they get one of the old Superman/Batman TAS writers back for this one? -
Okay, got my new connector and went for it. Here are my results: - the installation: Removed the casing, shield, and cart thing. When I actually saw the old connector I was a bit worried. It actually looked fine, not with noticeable tarnish or warping. I did the replacement and put the NES back together. -Castlevania 3 : Wait..the cartridge is supposed to connect firmly to the system? Wait--I never saw that village before in the intro! Hey, no huge discolored titles! However, when I popped in Ninja Gaiden, while the game never really crashed, the colors will often flash (kind of a negative effect that goes on-off) when I fall into a pit and die. Is this normal? I've dared to shake the system and rap my knuckles on the lid while playing without any problems, too. So that seemed to definitely be the major cause of the problems I had.

here's a video clip of what they're shooting for for the Superman Returns game: http://www.bluetights.net/vids/ea_tib/sr_videogamelow.html Obviously not actual gameplay footage, and naturally it's been pushed back since then. This is pretty much what Game Informer seemed to take all of its grabs from.

However, if anything goes wrong with it, I doubt NOA will be wild about servicing it.
-
From 1up.com Just in case anyone has this problem, there won't be any problems getting it taken care of. Nintendo isn't going to tell you "it's a feature, not a defect."

Problem is Jude is never great at anything except visually. He doesn't have the acting chops to play a character like that, IMO. We could have had a great Dent in Forever if everything in that movie wasn't so incompetently handled and rushed that they managed to waste Tommy Lee Jones. FLASHBACK*ACID IN THE FACE*SUPERVILLIANY*NO REAL CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!*

The best part of Prey being released is that it shows 3DRealms can get out one of their oft-delayed games and it not totally sucking. Maybe when DNF is released (That's in When-It's-Done-Tober, BTW) it might actually be worth a damn.
