-waves- Awww... I didn't know I was missed. ^.^ Yeah, the extras on the disc are, like, their last ditch effort to make any money. Let's throw it all out there! Then again, this guarantees that there won't be a Super Special Collector's Director's Pyro-Wearing-Nothing-but-a-Pretty-Bow kind of editions later on down the line. At least, I hope so. I'd say so. WB threw out a bare bones Batman Begins right away. Crap? They go balls out right away to sweeten the deal. Stuff like AVP got the suped up edition too. Of course, it isn't just WB. Sony had their "special edition" Resident Evil Apocalypse (only edition, unless you could the UMD one). I wouldn't rule out an X-trilogy pack come X4 or one of the spinoffs, but it may be just the same disc/set thrown into a new package.

I hope the deleted scenes include the OMGSOOPERSECRETREGIONSPECIFICENDINGS! Good to seeya post again, Yuna. And I see WB going with their usual "okay, so our movie sucked...let's give it a FRIGGIN STACKED DVD SET! 2 DISCS! EXTENDED AND DELETED SCENES! COMMENTARY! We got it over here ("Case Closed") but it was pulled. I liked the show, although the animation was really lousy. So I guess it would fail for crossover appeal, but the mangas are readily available here. Of course, maybe they never translated enough eps for them to show new ones. The Berserk manga has been going on forever and the anime was really good, although has a slim chance of ever being shown on US TV. Plus Guts is directly or indirectly referenced in tons of games/anime.

FFX was the worst for that. Avoid 100 straight lightning bolts? That stupid Chocobo crap for Tidus' weapon? Ridiculous. Really once you found the right spot the lightning wasn't that bad. There were a couple of spots where the lightning would strike 5 or 6 times a minute. The chocobo racing, on the other hand, pissed me off to no end. Annoying and aggravating. Last I heard, a friend of mine was *still* trying to meet all the requirements for Jiminy's journal in KH2.

I would assume Cowboy Bebop meets most or all of the criteria for HoF. I'm sure you can put a lot of Shirow on there--not sure what the best candidate would be. Kimba definitely belongs way up there with Astroboy. Akira--it sucks as an anime but it was a lot of people's first and they still love it.

Okay, finally got me a copy of the original silent hill--playing through it while a friend gets the cash together to buy all the stuff I'm holding for him. For a PS1 game the graphics have aged rather well, and it's still pretty damn freaky... I've just gotten to the Alternate school. DAMN!

So what's the difference between that and the original "uncut" version we had originally? I'm guessing this one has the original soundtrack and TEHCHUNLEEBEWBS because uncut didn't skimp on the violence and did have blood here and there.

Regardless of how you might feel about them: -Dragon Ball (original and z) -Sailor Moon I'd also assume Battle of the Planets and the Captain Herlock stuff should be up there too.

And the gaming press doesn't need any help doing that, thank you. I don't see how charging for the public is going to offset the costs. The convention owners themselves are going to get most of the dough (not even counting the overpriced concession stands' profits), not the developers. Even with x% of the gate, that's hardly going to be a drop in the bucket compared to the "double digit millions" that some companies supposedly are spending. I've read the same story on other sites, and this is really just sensationist drivel. *Expected to announce!* OMG! Based on what?! I love the disparate explanations/guesses here, but it seems Gamespot has the most likely scenario (next year's E3 will be smaller). There is no clear explanation either for the "E3 is cancelled!", just (according to the other sites I've read on this) that "major publishers" are calling for an *examination of costs*. Who? We've only heard EA. Oh noes, EA *might* be pulling out of E3!!! If EA, Capcom, Konami, Ubi, Midway, Squaresoft, Sega, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, etc. actually pull out, okay--it's as good as dead. But it hasn't happened yet; not even close. And E3 doesn't need to be more bloated with non-press people.

Yeah, we know; you posted a topic on that, Inu Y... It's a believable slip-up since we're looking at multi-console titles. This pretty much narrows our expected window tho. I think Wii will be available with a strong initial lineup by early November. Nintendo could steal a lot of Sony's thunder if they pull off a strong release before PS3 hits. Smash Bros is "launch window" tho, so we're looking *possibly* 2006 but I wouldn't bet on it.

Something I found on destructoid.com. Can't verify the truthfulness of it...but... However, I've seen BestBuy themselves still plugging an April release on Twilight Princess as late as March of this year, so go fig. The link still works.

Brazil is incredibly into Sega Genesis, for what it's worth. TechToy still releases and sells Genesis games over there, and there's actually homebrew software being put out for them I've heard. BTW, that site (destructoid.com) has quite a wide variety of weird/funny gaming-related features, even if a lot of them are links to other sites. It's like my favorite new site of the weekend.

The first game is very very good--essentially a more polished No Mercy with rappers standing in for WWE wrestlers. Minor gripes I have are that the 1 player "created" characters (as in, you pick from a few pre-made models and soup up their stats throughout the game) break the game and there's not a good create mode where you decide your move sets. Plus the in-game characters aren't modeled on existing wrestlers move-wise, and cannot be edited. The 2nd game is not a wrestling game as much as it is a fighter with a large emphasis on grappling. I hate it but some friends i know love it.
