  1. How much screentime does Aeris get? Because I caught Mena Suvari's rendition of Aeris in KH2 and it's fucking terrible. At least George Newburn I hear makes an excellent Seph. Is it "Tee-fah" or (as Legendary Frog pronounces it) "Tiff-ah"? I'll probably just watch the action sequences from the copy a friend bought. The time it took to release it over here is pretty ridiculous. Probably half the people or more who really cared downloaded it last year.
  2. "Sheen Divorce Shocker Wife: Actor fancied drugs, hookers, gambling, porn" Where's the shocker?
  3. Survival mode was the single best part of Turbo Revival, Anya. It wasn't just "jet off to Venezuela, fight until you die." There were tons of varied goals going on there. Yeah, Akuma was involved as a proverbial carrot on the stick, but it's not like playing as Akuma was a big deal anymore at that point. "Capcom descended into Crapcom awhile ago, so is it that shocking that things have turned out the way they have?" That's a pretty narrow view to have. Capcom has just moved away from what they were known for almost exclusively--fighters and platformers. Within the last year or so, they've produced: DMC3, Resident Evil 4,Shadow of Rome, Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2, the Monster Hunter cash cow, the newer Onimusha titles, and Phoenix Wright. Maybe they'll dust off Dead Phoenix and give it a next gen upgrade and polish. That was one of their most promising titles for the GC, IMO. On the way, they've got Dead rising, Okami, Lost Planet, God Hand, Ghouls n' Ghosts Extreme, DMC4, and Rockman ZX. They've struck a nice balance recently between revivals/sequences and new(er) properties. The fact that they've put out some compilations that were glorified shovelware, and that the attempted 3D revivals of certain franchises sucked aren't terribly surprising. Capcom never had a cash cow that they hadn't milked until its teeths were chapped and bleeding. They've done it for damn near 20 years.
  4. Got scans from Nintendo Power from the Inverted DUngeon forums: http://www.inverteddungeon.com/ralphy/villa/img/por0.jpg http://www.inverteddungeon.com/ralphy/villa/img/por1.jpg http://www.inverteddungeon.com/ralphy/villa/img/por2.jpg http://www.inverteddungeon.com/ralphy/villa/img/por3.jpg Okay...major tidbits... The sisters are called Loretta & Stella The sisters are the daughters of Brauner, a vampire who wants to resurrect Drac and apparently will be the main baddie in this one. It *is* John's son. There will be an animated intro. Charlotte is related to the Fernandez clan (yes, it makes no sense). Most of the Circle of the Moon folks (ie KCEK) are on board. It is definitely Castletroid style. Michiru Yamane will do the soundtrack The Vampire Killer won't be wielded by default...John will need to do "something special" for that. Brauner is a painter, and apparently many of the outside locations will be actually taking place in those paintings. The game is bigger/longer than Dawn of Sorrow. Souls are gone, but enemies drop items that can be used to create/enhance skills. No pointless gimmicky touch screen features that just serve to break the flow of the gameplay (Magic seals). Wi-fi play in the form of *either* versus or coop play. Oh, Iga needs a shave and a haircut, badly.
  5. That's horrible. He must have Bat-Mite living down there.
  6. Don't kid yourself. It's purposeful. There are plenty of fans who felt compelled to buy Dawn of Souls and FFIV in hopes of them re-releasing FFVI / CT on GBA. If they release the "real" FFIII next, you know they're ****ing with us. ELM: I remember folks saying "Chocobo's" was a terrible game, but the later ones I haven't heard of.
  7. Bastards. On the upside the Japanese version works just fine on American PSPs. The extras are pretty damn cool too. The full sound test mode was enough for me, but when I beat Suikoden 1 it unlocked the movie and scene mode. Only like 2 movies out of 10 or 12 slots so I'd assume most of those will open after beating 2. If Square would ever release a handheld version of Chrono Trigger I could die happy. More details... FFV?!?! A DS DQ, because no matter how shitty, repetitive, and ass-ugly they are, Japan loves them. And no CT. Square, you fucksticks. Oh, Children of Mana is a glorified dungeon-crawler, only a lot of it is outside, so big whoop.
  8. *Commercial* Final Fantasy VII Advent Children! You know, that movie about that mediocre old game, that anyone who gave a damn downloaded months ago?!
  9. I wonder if Cena will call all the British fans tonight a bunch of cigarettes.
  10. Vince: Semen! Hehehehhe! This is like one of those cases Mick spoke of where Vince apparently learns a new word, and then can't get enough of saying it.
  11. Even HHH would say "stop making your opponents look like crap, you egomaniac!"
  12. Valkyrie Profile aka Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is confirmed for a US release date on PSP. Sadly, Suikoden I+II is not and Konami has no plans to. So, if you never got to play it on PS1 (so far, pretty damn good, IMO), you can always buy a new handheld and experience it with annoyingly long load times.
  13. Yeah, getting all the gold stuff is tricky. Bronze? Laying out in the open. Silver? Takes some doing. Gold? Some of them look like they'll be kind of cruel. The way you get the gold one in the first level is really tricky. I've never have guessed that without looking at a FAQ on it, although I'm going to try to uncover it myself for the rest of the levels...
  14. I don't get the gripe over the animation. It was pretty good, I thought. Maybe inconsistent in places, sure, but do people want it to look exactly like JLU? Hulk making Giant Man his bitch was hilarious.
  15. Since you didn't say Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, get that.
  16. That may be the longest Anya rant I can recall....well, outside of an MSN IM chat. Anyway, I'm glad Pocket Fighter is included, because few people got to play it originally. However, it is a major disappointment that it's just the arcade versions. It's not such a big deal that it won't have Cammy in Alpha 2 or Maki, Eagle, etc. in Alpha 3. Alpha 3 was stuffed full of features on the home version because every single version suffered in either control or animation. However, is it really so hard to throw in survival mode, practice mode, and a tag team mode like in the home versions? If it's just the ROMs on a disc, that's okay, but don't charge over 20 bucks for it. Although at least we weren't promised those special features / enhancements and had them yanked away to do an enhanced version of a 10 year old game on PSP and sell it for full price. PSP owners were promised (and got) the ultimate editions of Darkstalkers and Alpha 3.
  17. It looks like I'm going to be playing some RPGs for a little while. I picked up and am enjoying a PS1 game called Koudelka...which I just found out is the first game in the Shadow Hearts series. It's an odd game with it's RPG/RE-style play mechanics, but it's very cool. However, it is very slow to play without PS2 fast loading on. I picked up Final Fantasy Chronicles again. My battery in my CT SNES cart died out, and after a several year reprieve, I'm ready to get my Trigger on again. Plus, I found a little game called Valkyrie Profile for the low, low price of 50 bucks at EB games. If I hate it I can always sell it.
  18. Holding down the jump button longer makes you jump higher. And yeah, once you jump over the ledge grab the morph ball.
  19. A Hurricanrana is business-exposing, period.
  20. Allegedly John Morris was born in 1895, which would make him at least 44/45 at the beginning of WW2. However, Julius was 55 in Aria/56 in Dawn, and was still pretty damn powerful. So while it's possible, John isn't drawn to really look that age. They also look quite different, but a total redesign of a character's look isn't unheard of in CV (see: Alucard, Trevor, Dracula himself, etc). "Didn't Dawn of Sorrow just come out on the DS?" Late 2005. Konami has rather steadily been releasing one every year. I say bring 'em on.
  21. When I heard it didn't get critic screenings I knew what to expect.
  22. There's some screens in J. Parish's 1up blog. http://toastyfrog.1up.com/ Apparently it ties in Bloodlines, and either that's the same John or maybe his son...?
  23. Capcom.com just says " June 2006"
  24. Play had a preview for this in a recent issue. It's supposed to be arcade-perfect as possible, except for resolution issues (it won't be pixel perfect, but big whoop). Once the games boot up, they never load. However, it is an arcade collection. None of the home options (like arranged soundtracks or world tour) are included. Alpha 3 will not have the character added to the handheld such as Maki, Eagle, etc. It's expected all the Alpha 3 Upper characters are in, because it seems that is the game being ported. They couldn't confirm it, however. They made a big to-do about how everything feels perfect gameplay-wise, with slight lag in input like previous console versions.
  25. There isn't enough soup/cereal talk for you, Curry?
