That chick is dressed up like Kasumi, not Mai or Chun Li. Kasumi: from Dead or Alive Mai: From the Fatal Fury/King of Fighters games She doesn't have the rack of either, though, but still cute.

"It doesn't cost $100 to make a $100 set of shoes, it costs more like a few dollars, if that." HA!!--it costs Nike a couple of pennies to have a pair of shoes made overseas. "Being a small businessman this would make it challenging for me to hire more people. Where I could potentially hire 2 people at the current minimum wage there's no way in hell I could afford to have 2 people if the minimum wage goes over $7. So there's a job right there that someone could've had but won't because the minimum wage became too high. " That's what I was thinking. Kerry disagrees.
-
I don't completely support outsourcing, but it don't believe it is the problem with the current economy. I believe a recent Business Week had a big article about it blaming corporate focus on efficiently for the cutting down of hirees. Since the "new jobs" Bush touted are taken at lower-than-usual wages for those fields, that seems to support that idea. I've not really seen any concrete proof that in-sourcing is terrible for our economy. Also yeah, companies don't outsource because they have to, they do it because they can and they want to maximize profits. If some one would like to give me a good idea about how to cut down on outsourcing--since so many Demos think is it a major problem, I'd like to hear it. Also, I've heard arguments that a good deal of higher-paying jobs, more than those are being outsourced, are being in-sourced to the U.S. Anyone have more info on it? I'm curious about that. Another thing that worries me is that Kerry's economic advisors are almost all former Clinton advisors. I've seen plenty of info about the myth of the Clinton boom era--even though the overall economy was strong during the Clinton years, disparities between rich and poor widened, and the overall economy was fueled more by the internet, dot.com business, and other related technologies than they were by Clinton's policies. Michael Moore himself had issues with the Clinton policies as seen in "The Big One." The extent to which Kerry could actually pull off any major economic changes hinges on who controls Congress after the elections, of course.

This is my man, he's made of straw. Nobody is going to "outlaw" outsourcing, but companies are getting tax breaks by making themselves less and less of an American company. Perhaps it should be the other way around? Nope, it isn't a straw man. It was just me saying that if the Dems think it is such a major problem, I want to know what they plan to do about it. I've seen Kerry and other Democrats complaining about outsourcing, but have not actually proposed anything to "fix" it. That would have to be one hell of a tax break to convince companies to keep operations within in the country, though. Fair enough suggestion. I wasn't saying that, especially since the fed has been keeping inflation low, but I was wondering if it would actually hurt jobs. It doesn't seem like it should provided it's increased gradually, as the plan seems to call for. However, if minimum wage across the board is increased...would States increase their minimum wage laws about that? If so, would that have a negative effect? Should any federal increase made mandatory or left up to the States? Wouldn't minimum wage be strictly a State issue anyway? Where's your source on that last part? Of all the reasons to support a minimum wage increase, that's about the poorest one I could think of.

So, I just plug that yellow cord in between the yellow A/V cable and the TV, and plug the controller plug into the PS2 port, and I should be in business?
-
Yeah, the one in the picture is what I would be getting, with the yellow plug. It's grey, but otherwise looks the same. An adapter though? **** What would it look like, BTW? If a Guncon 2's going to run me 15-20 bucks, and it would only be 5 or so for an adapter (used, likely), I'll stick with the Guncon 1. Does Point Blank! work with it?
-
Donkey Kong 94 also borrowed some elements from SMB2--namely the keys and the ability to stand on enemies, hoist them, and throw them/other items at enemies to kill them. Kudos to Fook--I would have had to mention Doki Doki Panic if not for him. http://www.classicgaming.com/tmk/smb2_ddp.shtml http://www.classicgaming.com/tmk/smb2_madness.shtml Info on the original game if you care. "Stranger yet, the POW Block and Starman—two Mario items—were already in DDP. Coupled with the Mario lookalike "Papa" character, it seems as if DDP was planned to be converted into a Mario game from the start... "
-
Okay--I have a PS2 but no PS1. I could get a good deal on Time Crisis with a Guncon (1). So, is that all I need to play the game? Would the Guncon work with the PS2? OR do I need to have a Guncon 2? I've heard from several peeps "likely" I just can use the Guncon, but nobody is certain.

First off, naturally a Democrat brings up outsourcing... *chuckle* So, is Kerry going to outlaw outsourcing if elected? Okay, while Kerry's camp has a point about the new jobs if correct, a better alternative is paid community service? Although Bush mentioning the new jobs "are in fields that" pay above-average wages but neglecting to mention the wages of the new jobs is rather annoying. Now certainly *this* will end all fears about outsourcing. I could be wrong, but wouldn't an increase in minimum wage cause increased layoffs? I don't necessarily find Bush's economic policies to be completely sound, but these proposals seem suspect. Either way though, isn't 2007 when the crap is really going to be hitting the fan with the Boomers retiring? Whoever's in office is going to have that problem to contend with.
-
EDIT: Whoa--that didn't work well.
-
Well, we had Bradshaw in the main event still, (technically) but at least Austin was still wrestling.

"good cast, though. i got a kick out of seeing patrick fugit, macaulay culkin, mandy moore, and heather matazarro's cleavage all in the same movie. " Isn't Macaulay Culkin like 35 now? Anyway, sounds about like what I expected. Not as "sacriligious" as the fundies say, but seems to be pretty intolerant at points. However, I do kind of wonder what the point is of casting Mandy and making her a stock antagonist character. *shrug* I guess Dogma is still the best religious satire out there, in part because of Catholicism having so many institutions and traditions begging for it. Protestantism is so splintered it's hard to focus on that stuff. Were there any heated arguments over which way you can baptize some one? Or how about whether one can "lose" salvation or not?

"No offense, JHawk but I think you went overboard with your hatred of smackdown. I watched and it was not bad, nor was it any good. Mostly it was boring." THAT'S WHY IT SUCKS SO MUCH!! If we had Doink, Bastion Booger and fat guys squashing snakes, it would still suck but at least it wouldn't be boring. Being boring is far, far, far worse than simply sucking. I'm not sure about that. I know Spike sucks, but Funaki's always been a jobber, so I can't say if he's actually any good or not. Goodear seems to think he sucks, but I don't know if he's just assuming or he's familiar with his Japanese work. Anyone seen Funaki put on a good match? I know he can bump like a mutha and great at overselling hoss offense, but offensively, I haven't seen anything much from him.
-
Oooh! Well he does! But it's BACKWARDS!! How cool!! He's really happenin' yo. I just want to re-emphasize how practical that outfit is for a cop. All it is missing is a nice target on the chest that glows in the dark. Were those rejected shirt designs for Star Trek?
-
Exactly. Part of what makes it awesomely bad is that the whole project is played so straight. That's why I'd rather watch MKA over Batman and Robin any day (well, just one reason at least). And his momma dresses him funny. Man, could you imagine the terror in the heart of a gang-banger when he sees THAT bad boy in blue running towards him? Why is he wearing a Shriner's hat?

Oh, BTW, here's the full list of current NES Classic releases out right now: Super Mario Bros. The Legend of Zelda Donkey Kong Excitebike Ice Climber Pac-Man Xevious: The Avenger Bomberman The total Famicom Mini games currently out in Japan, not including the ones mentioned above: Mario Bros. (You probably already have this, free, and with four player mode. Pass.) Dr. Mario Balloon Fight Clu Clu Land Adventure Island Dig Dug Ganbare Goemon Ghosts 'n Gobins Mappy Star Soldier Twinbee Wrecking Crew Some of them are "meh" but several are worthwhile. If they pay attention to this poll at all, we should get Punch Out.
-
Yeah, but Eddy isn't Hulk Hogan. His match isn't going to be a huge draw no matter what regardless of challenger like Hogan's would be. He needs an opponent the fans give a damn about.
-
Considering taking my suggestion, JHawk? Anyway, was playing video games instead, so let's see what I, uh, missed. "You know let's review, Test was punished and pulled out of a pay per view match a number of months back because he got snowed in and couldn't make it to Raw. John Bradshaw Layfield ignites and International Incident and gets a title shot at the Great American Bash? What the hell is wrong with this picture? " I guess Test isn't a Vince favorite, even if Linda and Shane like him. "Obviously I'm not surprised at the result, although I would have expected the champions to put forth some sort of effort before dropping the match. This basically became a glorified squash before it was all over, and I'd like to think that most fans would rather have competitive title matches, particularly since they'd been building up the Rico-Haas team fairly well considering the contrasting styles and gimmicks. Now it's back to the 'old reliable' with the Dudleys holding the straps, and the live crowd seemed totally apathetic to the entire thing." I guess no bukkake for Miss Jackie. Bah. Would it be stale to say the Dudleys are really really stale? "OK, this idea is completely gay. Totally gay. Mind-numbingly gay. I mean, this is Rico saying "My character isn't even that gay" gay. This is stupid. "Watch the PPV because somebody might suffocate to death!" Or watch a rerun of the Simpsons and see something that at least has a chance to be entertaining. The choice is yours." Or get the Season 4 Simpsons DVDs and be pretty damn sure about it. Well, at least we can't say they're not building up anything for the PPV. "Why are we hyping the Raw Diva Search when the application deadline is over and it has nothing to do with this show?" You were watching the B-show? "Look at the casket. You know you wanna see someone die. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!" Let's start with Brother Love. "Wow. I am so unimpressed with Kenzo Suzuki that I am actually giving myself a headache wondering why they hyped this guy so hard for over a month. Out of all the Japanese wrestlers they could have brought in and pushed, and they picked this guy? " He's...kinda big for a Japanese guy. That's why. Yup. "Well, most of you had already heard that Chavo Classic was leaving the company, so very few of you should have been surprised. Maybe now we can actually build up the cruiserweight division into something that the average fan might actually give a rat's ass about." That would require that they push some other Cruiserweights...NOT named Billy Kidman. So, not bloody likely. "Mordecai tells us the locker room is full of sinners who aren't worthy of mercy, and they'll all feel his wrath. And one of them is the worst sinner of them all: Eddy Guerrero." Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwn... I've seen e-fed characters that used variations of this same gimmick, and they were all better.
-
I think for "other" they basically just put up a list of every NES game released and let people pick from it. I really don't think Duck Hunt is possible on a GBA, for instance. As for the game itself, probably they couldn't legally release it for licensing reasons as well as the WWF name change. However, TMNT's license is once again in Konami's hands, so Nintendo would just have to get the licensing rights from Konami and they could certainly strike a deal.
-
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" The arcade game is going to be in the new TMNT game, so no need. I definitely want Punch Out, even though it will probably be the Mr. Dream version. I think releasing DK solo was a big mistake--they could have put DK, Jr. and 3 all on one cart. Funny thing is, I opened an NES cartridge, and even those cartridges' guts weren't too much bigger than a regular Game Boy cartridge. "Kirby" -- Nightmare in Dreamland is a Zero Missioned version of it. "Excitebike" -- It's already out in the first line of NES Classics! "Balloon Fight" -- It's in the second line of Famicom Mini games, so likely. "Dr Mario" -- I think it is out now or in the second line of Famicom Mini games. But Dr. Wario make it unnecessary. They mistakenly put the games that are already released in the Classics line on the list. *shrug* My picks -- 1943: The Battle of Midway Kid Icarus Pro Wrestling Punch Out Golgo 13 WHERE THE HELL IS CRYSTALIS?!? (sees "Other") Oh... Crystalis River City Ransom Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse

"If that's not enough, how about Yoko Ono, accompanied by her son, Sean, who's let his hair grow out and is now sporting a bushy beard that makes him look like his late, beloved father John Lennon?" I wonder if she's gotten him hooked on drugs, talked him into streaking, or alienated him from all his friends. Yeah, I have nothing really substantial to add here.

At least Michael Bay isn't directing--I'd heard a rumor he was. However, still doesn't look promising. Geez, it seems like every new movie coming out is trying to crap on things I like.
-
Bold predictions: It will pPlay PS1 and PS2 games, DVDs, laser discs, MP3s, and lots of other crap. The first run of systems will self-destruct after the factory warranties expire.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that Foley decided to kiss Vince's ass again. His reply to the Honky complaint...well, apparently none. He doesn't conclusively say anything.
