    NBA Playoffs

Well it's nice to see that, even though there's no hockey, the Celtics are carrying on the tradition of the home teams embarassing themselves at the Fleet Center during big playoff games. This had to be the most immature Celtics team I've ever seen in the playoffs. The refs are making bad calls Pierce and Walker? Suck it up and make some goddamn shots. I seriously don't want to see Paul Pierce in Celtic green anymore. Trade his ass, PLEASE! And I predicted them getting blasted at home anyway, since they'd get *crushed* against Detroit in four straight double figure losses.
  2. Believe me, we wouldn't HAVE to force him to do that.
  3. Believe me, the thought has crossed my mind, but that would mean unleashing a monster I don't think we'll be able to reign in again. And I loved how AS didn't even TRY to disguise it was him when he came back those times. You'd suddenly see a new poster start right off bitching about Cena in the WWE folder and the Yankees in Sports.
  4. Well that's what I meant. His velocity seems to be coming along, though he did walk 4 (making that 6 total in his two starts) so his control might not be there yet. He's pencilled in for Sunday against the Mariners, but I wouldn't be that surprised to see one more Pawtucket start.
  5. Wade Miller with another pretty good rehab start tonight, going 5 2/3, 4 runs, 5 hits, 7 Ks and hitting 96 on the gun. I'm not expecting a miracle recovery, but this is welcome news for the Sox rotation.
  6. Pretty decent RAW. HBK-Benjamin was a bit sloppy, but stiff and fun to watch and HHH-Benoit was solid (with an ending that needed to happen) although Edge-Jericho was a snoozer. You can't have a guy say who hasn't won an important match in a long while say he's hungry for his first title shot in three years, have him job 20 minutes later, and expect me to care about him any more than I did before.
  7. An interesting matchup of young pitchers tonight in Detroit as Jeremy Bonderman faces Pawtucket call-up Jeremi Gonzalez. Ok, so Gonzalez is 30, but still....
  8. I really do hope that the O's keep this up to add another horse into the AL East race, but I'm still not totally sold on their pitching just yet. I don't think they'll be able to pick up the slack during the inevitable offensive cooldown (just like what the Yankees are experiencing right now). 'Course, the Sox pitching ain't all roses and sunshine either right now. If the pitching holds (or they trade for another starter to shore it up) I think the O's have a shot to stay in the WC race throughout the season and even have an outside shot at the division if both Boston and New York struggle. And I totally agree with the "reap what you sow" sentiment. The Yankees have decimated their farm system just like the Sox did in the 90s, which prevented them from building up prospects to trade for starters. No one in their right mind is going to touch Giambi with that contract and Bernie won't fetch anything top of the line either. Who else do they have to give? Unless other teams get involved, the Yankees may be screwed at the deadline while the Sox have Hanley Ramirez, Kevin Youklis (though I want him to stay since Mueller's gone when his contract's up in 2(?) years) and others to grab someone like Roger Clemens (which is the rumor swirling around right now).
  9. Yeah, people would be saying "50 First Dates redux" if he was in the main role. Personally I would have preferred to see one of the "local boys" in the lead role, but Ben Affleck is the kiss of death for a movie nowadays, I don't know if Matt Damon would have fit the character (I don't see him as really a comedic actor), and Denis Leary's too old. I'll probably pick up the DVD (or at least rent it) to see how good it is.
  10. So I guess we can call "Fever Pitch" a bomb right about now. The movie did well in Boston (and surprisingly well in New York), but everyone else around the country is sick of the Red Sox (I can't really blame them either, what with all the media exposure they got over the offseason). I've heard from a couple of people that Fallon playing a Red Sox fan turned them off from seeing the film.
  11. ESPNEWS is reporting that Doug Flutie has signed with the Patriots. Great pickup as it puts a QB that people can have a little confidence in behind Brady should anything happen.
  12. Take Slapnuts' advice, folks.
  13. What was with the gratuitous Christina Aguilera cameo? Is she involved with the video or something? I guess I'll just mute the TV when the video starts and watch it that way.
  14. Crono is kind of if Zacalex and DJ Jeff had a kid, but used his head to crack walnuts until he was 15. And wasn't Jeff's board called WrestleStars as well?
  15. If it's from a WWE show then, where would the most logical place to post them? The WWE folder, of course! Kind of an obvious answer there, don't you think? And this isn't going to turn into another "Bash INXS" thread so, el locko.
  16. Lovely, now Schilling goes on the DL because of a bone bruise in his ankle. This means Matt Clement is the #1 starter for a while and that John Halama is going into the rotation. They're probably going to have to dip into Pawtucket as well since they aren't going to rush Miller in.
  17. There you go. I might check this out to see if there are any old PS1 games that are worth picking up.
  18. They've already reserved his special "rehab stool" at the Cask N' Flagon. How Wade Miller comes back will be even more important now, I think.
  19. Great opening. I like Tony and Jesse running down the card to start the show. Hopefully this becomes a staple of PPVs from now on. Both tag matches were fun to read. Patty, do you teach classes in match writing or something? I'd like to learn how to paint word pictures as well as you. Gold. - Nice little thing with Gene and Supes completely ruining his hotline buisness. Edit more later.

    Ban me

Well, this accomplished nothing. Coffey, this will be a good exercise in self-control for you. Learn from it.
  21. That's it. See how the pressure is on the lower back? That move will be PK's "Ace in the hole" alternative finisher; he'll break it out only when he needs it.
  22. Check your PMs in a bit, because Peter Knight is also available for action on HD.
  23. EDIT: I'll feedback in a bit, but thanks for the kind words on my match. I guess it's true that you're harshest critic is yourself. If my descrption isn't clear enough, the move I had Brock submit to is called the Queen Angelito Stretch in the Smackdown games. I just modified it a bit with the full nelson.
  24. Yeah, the ending or beginning isn't a problem, I just hit the wall writing transitions into different segments that I'd like to use for the meat of the match. I don't want to write things like "(Segment A happens). They brawl for a little while. (Segment B happens). X works the knee of Y for a little bit (Finish goes here)." Plus, triple threat matches are tough because you have to figure out ways to get all three guys involved. The match I wrote has a beginning and a (hopefully good and surprising) end, but I really cut out a lot of the middle portion because I just couldn't make it work. It happens with me. I had the same problem before too; I guess the more matches I write, the better I'll get at it.
  25. My match is sent, but I'd like to apologize in advance for its complete crapiness. I only started it on Friday and really haven't had time to work on it as much as I'd have liked to.
