  1. How about all three of you clam up about this, mmkay? Don't bog down FOOTBALL threads with Yankees/Red Sox crap.
  2. Oh, no kidding. You have to know someone that at least speaks a LITTLE Chinese. "I have a sick child in Honolulu." HA!!!!
  3. If it means not putting Kevin Faulk in to run for key situations (i.e. the Pats' final drive Sunday where they could have killed the clock), then change is good. Weis never totally got the fact that he had COREY DILLON on his offense and giving him the ball more than 6 times in a half is a GOOD idea. Pats shouldn't lose anyone major this year. Next year might be different, since that's when the contracts of Brady and Seymour are up. What's an Exclusive Rights Free Agent?

    Dynasty?

I don't think they will totally collapse, as Belichick has no problem letting players that want too much go and getting someone to replace them. I don't think Brady will demand some ludicrous $100M contract or anything, anyway. He'll get a good payday, but he doesn't seem the type to be a cash hog. And I agree that this isn't quite a dynasty yet, a really good run, but not a dynasty. Consistently winning 10 games and making noise in the playoffs over the next 5 years would make them a dynasty.
  5. Was this what you meant? I wasn't comparing Branch to Rice per se, but Montana had a go-to receiver in all his SB wins in Rice, and Branch has caught 21 passes in the last 2 SBs, so THAT'S what I meant. Branch should be Brady's go-to receiver for years to come.
  6. It's Branch's third season, actually. You're off today Frigid. Anyway, as far as the top QBs in the league goes, I'd definitely put McNabb at #2, Manning and Culpepper would swap the 3 and 4 spots, depending on my mood, and Chad would be privileged enough to round out my list.

    Dynasty?

Pats rushed for 128 total, well above Pittsburgh's season average, so yeah, I think you could say they pushed the Pitt line around a bit.
  8. Did I say that? Did Bill Simmons say that? Did any rational Pats fan you've talked to say that? No, MIKE said it. Stop trying to lump all of us into that category. Most of the sentiment here is that Reid was horribly outcoached by Belichick, and the Eagles running game forced McNabb to throw too much, which leads to more mistakes.
  9. Well, it was mostly the ladies' rooms that were closed, but I think it was in Sheppard's section and when you gotta go, and the men's room is full of drunk Eagles fans......
  10. It wasn't totally Westbrook; the Pats line and linebackers just eat up runs in the middle, you just can't bang it up the middle most times. I'd still say that the AFC East is among the toughest in the league, since Buffalo's got a great defense and McGahee (and probably will have Losman at QB next year) and Miami's defense isn't bad themselves (need to rebuild that offense, though.) I heard that they had to shut down some of the restrooms at Alltel because of plumbing problems. Didn't know the builders of Foxboro Stadium were still in business.
  11. So what's the grace period for the Pats? 15 years? Hey, as long as they stay competitive (i.e. over .500 and in the hunt) I'll be happy. Don't want to be getting greedy here (Though seeing a three-peat would be pretty nice).
  12. One thing I was suprised at was the lack of pressure the Eagles put on Brady. I mean, they blitzed their fair share of times, but the o-line seemed to contain it most of the time. That killer block Dillon threw on Trotter early on was fucking sweet. I know I'm going to sound REAL snobbish here, but those championship hats are BUTT-ugly. Brown just doesn't work. The shirts are pretty nice though.
  13. I think my Miss SmartMarks Contests should be mentioned among the greats. .....I'll shut up now.
  14. Another good thing about this (since I'm looking at therealworldschampion's avatar)? Merill Hodge STILL looks like and idiot.
  15. So Philly isn't ablaze? Maybe if they got blown out it would be, but they showed that they deserved to be there.
  16. Maybe it'll be Trish, but she'd be the FACE in that situation (as in, everyone would probably PREFER her to Christy.) I'll check out the pics when they hit the net, since she's about in the middle of my list.
  17. Pats have a pretty tough schedule next year, will have a new co-ordinator on both sides of the ball, and I don't see the NFC improving THAT much (if Bledsoe goes to Dallas, there's two free wins for ya), so the Eagles should have a pretty decent shot at going to Detroit and winning. I know this should go into the commercials thread in TV/Movies, but the ads fucking blew this year.
  18. First off, hats off to the Iggles, who (for most of the game) brought their best. I even have to credit TO for his performance. The Eagles did what no other team did: get one-on-one matchups and throw it deep. The lack of running game just murdered them though, which forced McNabb to throw way too many times, which results in mistakes, and lollygagging around with 5 minutes left in a two posession game was REALLY dumb on Reid's part. I thought Deion Branch was going to breakout this year, so I guess I was right there. The new Montana/Rice just might be Brady/Branch. Off to yet another victory parade. Ho hum (whoops, sounding like a Yankees fan there).
  19. So anyone think the Eagles will forego the individual intros this year and come out as a team? I would think TO would come out of the tunnel on crutches, drop them, and do the Ray Lewis dance again. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't mark a bit for that.
  20. If they do get a new team, it's going to have to be a relocation since expanding again to 33 teams is foolhardy. Problem is, almost every team seems to be well supported in their area, and they are building a new stadium in Arizona so they aren't moving the Cardinals anytime soon. Either move the Chargers to LA or just tell them to root for the Raiders (since there still seems to be a strong fanbase for them there).
  21. Got beat by a minute Steve. Sorry.
  22. Can't I just delete them both so we don't have to discuss this knucklehead? No? Damn. I don't have 4 hours to wait for the topics to merge (I've got a Super Bowl party to go to), so I'll just close the other one.
  23. BC's still undefeated, but YET AGAIN they squeak by a poor/mediocre team, this one being Seton Hall 60-52. If Hall could actually SHOOT (shot 35%), they would have won that game. Even if they DO stay undefeated, they should stay at #5, because the other 4 teams above them would probably smoke them any night.
  24. Anyone else catch the Best Darn Road Show Period totally screech to a halt when John Salley actually let out a "damn"? You've got to be kidding me. What is this, 1957? FOX may be a wee scared of the FCC this year.
  25. Isn't NATO kind of the military arm of the UN? Since the USSR fell, they really haven't had much to do, so why not have the two organizations "team up", if you will.
