    Bob Holly

Holly was an asshole and took liberties with Brock, so Brock dropped him on his head, injuring him for a year. Now, Holly gets a big revenge push. That's the only reason I can see both in storyline and in real life.
  2. You mean he's like Pat Buchanan? Yup. They're from opposite sides of the spectrum but similar in personality...
  3. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The man is NUTS! Looney! Insane! Unstable! Unelecetable!
  4. You think people who get upset about this will hand their votes to Bush? He seems much more willing to preach in public. At least when he does it, he's only staying true to his beliefs, rather than using it as a cheap ploy to attract a new demographic.

    Out of the loop

Can we at least wait to see where the storyline goes before deeming it a failure?

    Out of the loop

Hmmmm...makes sense to me now. Raven feuds with mid-carders while Jarrett doesn't defend the title again. Raven WANTS to feud with midcarders...
  7. Thanks for the clarification! Could you clarify also, what "an ass-ranching moron" is too?
  8. Shut the fuck up you ass-ranching moron. PURO HAS NOTHING to do with this at all. You want to watch Benoit/Eddy in a ***** 30 minute classic, it's avaliable on tape I'm sure, and they wear masks too. The only point I'm trying to make is, WWE went out of their way to put on an entertaining show for our troops in Bagdad, and some people have the gall to complain about petty things when they shouldn't.
  9. This was a nice effort put on by WWE. The troops seemed genuinely happy to have them there. Why ware it televised? Why not? It's good pub and I myself was interested to see how it went. The setup was freakin cool, and I enjoyed the segments where they rode around in the helicopters and interacted with the troops. Why have Austin there? It's a guest appearence? Everyone knows he's still part of WWE, and I think it's great that they go a huge star like Austin to make the trip. I'm not going to even dignify the snide remarks about how Benoit/Eddy should have wrestled for 30 minutes in the 100 degree heat in the middle of a warzone on basically an exhibition show, or why a segment with a little T&A was shown to soldiers who have spent months away from their girlfriends/wives. I enjoyed the show, it was a unique affair and a nice gesture by Vince and everyone else involved. I applaud everyone involved for taking their time and even risking their lives to go to Iraq and entertain. If people are still so dense and jaded and unhappy to understand the nature of this show they can go watch their puro tapes or whatever it is you people like.
  10. No, I get the Torch and it was in there.
  11. I am EL NINO! Which means....THE NINO!
  12. I'm gonna give my vote to HBK/Jericho from Wresltemania. Many are saying it's the match of the year, but I was bored watching it live and I was bored watching it on tape. Way too much resting, it felt like they were going as slow as molasses, everything was just rudimentary, like a bad 80s match. There, I got it all out, you can stone me now!
  13. Roddy Piper coming out of nowhere to attack Hulk Hogan at WM. I did NOT see that one coming...
  14. Dear god....don't even joke about that. I still have nightmares about how bad that angle was. Hey! Don't let me hear you say that again, or I'll tell the office! Styles: WE DON'T HAVE AN OFFICE!
  15. True, but they were most voted upon. I think also, mostly high profile matches are considered when you're talking about matches of the year (or their opposites).
  16. Well, according to the RSPW awards (which I think is pretty respected as far as representing net opinion) 1997: Best match: 10/05/97: Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker (Hell in the Cell cage) and Worst match:10/26/97: Hulk Hogan vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper (cage) (Halloween Havoc While for 2001: Best Match: 05/21/01: Steve Austin & Triple H (tag) vs. Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho (RAW) Worst Match: 07/02/01: Booker T (WCW) v. Buff Bagwell (RAW) Of course your opinions may vary...
  17. Hey, here's an interesting question that I don't think has been discussed. The majority opinion for match of the year is Benoit vs. Angle from the Rumble. The majority opinion for worst match of the year is HHH vs. Steiner, also from the Rumble. Has their even been another year where the best and worst matches of the year were on the same show?
  18. He's like the Boston Red Sox of the WWE!
  19. Good choice, those were the only good ones!
  20. 30 second intervals so Shawn could be #1 and win the thing. Actually, they were 60 second intervals, or the Rumble would have been 15 minutes long. Yeah, that's what I meant. My wrestling harddrive becomes more full and fragmented every year...
  21. 30 second intervals so Shawn could be #1 and win the thing. EDIT: I meant 60 seconds.
  22. RRR, must you hijack every WWE thread into an MMA thread? My rankings... 1. Vengeance 2. Wrestlemania 3. Royal Rumble 4. Summerslam 5. Survivor Series 6. No Way Out 7. Unforgiven 8. Badd Blood 9. Armageddon 10. Backlash Didn't see: -Judgement Day (sounds bad) -No Mercy (sounds good-might get the DVD).
  23. Someone else actually thinks logically. It's not going to happen that way, the two teams already get pouty when the other announces the main event of a dual brand show. The fairest way to do it is to alternate back and forth on the show.
  24. Well, you do have admitted personal biases against 2/3rds of the match...
  25. My thought is they record it while the Rumble Match is going on live...since Tazz and Cole were just sitting there this past year. They do the commentary while sitting there, and release it on the DVD release. Oh, I'm sure Cole and Tazz would LOVE that, designate them as the alternate. As I said, the most realistic way to modify your idea is to do like WCW did with the 2 or 3 announce teams for World War 3, have Jr and King calling and then after a couple minutes say "lets take it to Michael Cole and Tazz" and then they commentate for a few minutes then they throw it back, and they just keep trading off. Especially if something big is happening with a Smackdown star, it would make sense for JR and King to defer to MC and Tazz, and vice versa when something is happening with a RAW star.
