NWO 07 is held off until NEXT week it seems, according to the Sunflower cable provider - http://www.sunflowerbroadband.com/cable/on...ng/?network=wwe This schedule often is missing PYBOs and the Legends roundtable.
-
I assume that's not until next week, after AR99 expires. I think we're getting Superbrawl III and No Way Out 2007 tonight.

Fast Eddie's Arcade ruled the downtown area here until Chrysler built a big building downtown that no one uses.

I liked Monsoon's 1961 promo about the purse money. Not sure why, just do. Also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Wre...8Herb_Abrams%29

Yep, that was the result and location. 300 seems like a good guess.

This has nothing to do with 24/7 but seems as appropriate a place as any to mention this (note: maybe the July 24/7 thread could also have a sub-title making it somehow include any wrestling a person could watch on digital cable - ex. ESPN Classic Canada, The Fight Network, one of those British channels). I saw some of a show called "UWF Blackjack Brawl" from 1994 on ESPN Classic Canada. It was pretty weird because it had guys that you'd think would draw a good indy crowd (Snuka vs Cactus Jack and Sid vs Dr. Death were the two big matches, The Killer Bees and the Warlord were on the undercard) but if there was 100 people in that crowd I'd be surprised. Actually, one shot looked like there happened to be a lot of people on the hard camera side while the sides the hard camera looked at were virtually empty, but still. I only saw bits and pieces but it didn't seem that great (not a shock).

"Bitsize Candy" in Mario Party 8 is tremendous. I love nostalgia jokes. I don't know why anyone would bother giving the game a negative review based on the 1 player experience; yeah, games SHOULD be judged on that, but this is a game that obviously gets it's worth from 3 people laughing heartily at another person getting so close to the star on the Delfino Island board, only for the Goomba pirate cannon to blast him to the beginning of the board.

WWE General Discussion for June 2007
DrVenkman PhD replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
If the announcers don't know what's going to happen, they can't take the audience in the direction they're supposed to be going. It's hard to tell the story the company wants if you're not told what it is. I remember hearing or reading somewhere that when Bischoff was in charge of WCW he would not let the announcers know who was winning the matches. This lead to the announcers putting over talent and finding out that it was somewhat pointless because in the end the wrong guy won the match. I think one of JR's blog entries noted that sometimes him and Lawler don't know exactly what's going to happen, but are made aware of key story elements that they need to get across in their broadcast. -
I want to see 1990, if only for Taker vs Lex Luger. My feeling is also that I have the good stuff from Bash 96 over a span of DVDs (Dean/Rey on Rey's DVD, Benoit/Sullivan on the Benoit DVD, Eric being powerbombed by Nash on either the nWo or MNW DVD) but I wouldn't mind seeing the whole thing.

Slightly OT, but "Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog" airing Monday - Friday in the same TV season as "Sonic the Hedgehog"'s run on Saturday was really confusing. That is perhaps the most polar opposite any two shows about the same character can be, and they're airing at the same time. Ok then.

Hooray for the return of this thread. I remember we discussed the VF2 thing online before. Good stuff.

That sucks to hear. Well, it's only 10 Despicable Moments although it is about 55min. Kinda reminds me of an old Coliseum Video. Has DiBiase ruining that kid's day by kicking the ball away on the 15th dribble, Orton spitting on Foley, the Piper/Snuka Pit, Knox dumping Kelly Kelly, Hogan's BATB turn, The Rockers' split, Bundy squashing Little Beaver, JBL firing Jillian Hall, Flair's Unforgiven turn, and of course Edge's World Championship victory. I wonder if the problem is with your WMP. If you don't have the latest version, maybe you need it. Wish I had a better answer. I updated WMP and had to deal with that whole genuine advantgae fiasco, causing me to roll back to WMP 10. I'll look into it. Edit: Looked into it, I had to do some computer trickery of finding the hidden DRM folder and renaming it DRMBACKUP, then I was prompted to install the security upgrade the next time I tried watching something. It's all good now. Love that they upgraded to 750k. On another note, I watched Anarchy Rulz 99 tonight on 24/7. I've seen it many times on VHS but wow, I might as well have been watching it for the first time tonight. I know that's a bit of an exaggeration but seriously, Pioneer cut an entire segment with Raven which was pretty awesome, persumably because for about 30 seconds there was music that required overdubbing. They also cut some good Styles/Cyrus exchanges I saw for the first time today ("The ICP had more heat in the WWF than I did" - Cyrus), Gertner's joke (the Pioneer version just cuts to Dreamer in the ring with him), and of course all the entrances (which WWE has to overdub anyway, but they're nice to see). The Pioneer version is also missing the opening with Jeff Jones promising an Awesome surprise for Tanaka. I found it odd that at the beginning, there was a "WWF Fears Taz" sign that went unblurred. I would imagine Survivor Series 2002 will start when AR99 ends (June 13th). I see the next MNW features the "Royal Rumble Raw", which I seem to recall creating minor buzz for advertising showing the Royal Rumble match just 2 weeks after the PPV. I forget how much of that they actually delivered, but I'm assuming not much since I know they still only had an hour at this point and they need to fit some tag match involving Undertaker and Mankind from a SkyDome houseshow in.

SuperBrawl III won the PYBO. Excellent.

WWE General Discussion for June 2007
DrVenkman PhD replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
It became a magazine cover, Douchebag. Giving Kenny the nickname Thunder and having the team be called "Nitro and Thunder" is perhaps the greatest idea I've read in weeks. -
WWE.com finally moved the June stuff to "This Month" and announced the "Superstars and Stripes Forever" theme for next month. They still haven't announced what won the PYBO (first they had the poll up for which GAB to show in July but still had the old PYBO graphics up, they just now switched that but still have Judgment Day 2003 listed as April's winner) but I'd be shocked if ONS didn't win. Most important thing of note in the July preview: Thursday Raw Thursday isn't being skipped like the other non-compete weeks in the Monday Night War.

I re-subscribed to 24/7 Online after this whole weird problem last summer where I got a new credit card and couldn't get a new account for whatever reason. The problem is, nothing will work - it keeps saying "Windows Media Player cannot play the protected file because the required security upgrade is not available for download". I really do want to watch that 50 Most Despicable moments thing.
-
Although I think it's been evident for awhile, this month really shows that 24/7 Online is trying to go in a different direction than the previous "bunch of matches" they used to do. A bunch of quick bikini clips, a 56 minute video documenting 50 descipable deeds, and the debut of Bobby Lashley (with commentary about the debut) and a few other matches. It's not really a terrible idea but I imagine it could upset people who remember the days of 20 new matches a month (MillenniumMan?).

Funk/Lawler has to be the craziest thing I imagine ever aired on TV in 1981. I was wondering why, when I loaded up the program, something from 1981 would have a "Coarse Language" warning, but Funk sure let me know why. Great stuff. I have everything but MNW now!
-
I have a GameCube that works great. It's called the Nintendo Wii. (disclaimer: that is a comment about the joys of backwards compatibility, not a "Wii is a GameCube with motion controls" joke).
-
The Monsoon HoF piece if awesome (slowly but surely the updates started coming in this afternoon - just waiting for MNW and Legends stuff). I love that they showed some 1961 Stampede Wrestling action.
-
X-Pac was the replacement. Was this trunk loading angle tied into Jericho wearing hockey gear and hitting a Lionsault on Shamrock, causing him to bleed internally, or am I imagining this angle?
-
I find it odd there's no Carlito vs Nitro match on the DVD, if they're going to start doing PPV dark matches again (and apparently they have been since Mania - Carlito/Nitro at Backlash, Kane/Regal at JD) they should put them on the DVD. Maybe it's on the Blockbuster edition. I love the fake ECW theme on 24/7, it'll be cool to have it on DVD.
-
So where's Harry Smith?
-
Cogeco fixed the Entourage/Bullshit problem after I e-mailed them but 24/7 remains a baron land of "No Listings".

Sometime in June, I heard.
