  1. I'm glad to know I'm formerly known as Mr. Gray, not also known as. I'll have to notify OHIP. Thanks for the endorsement all the same, VX. Funny how in 2006, Leena's voting comment was "HTQ copycat assclown", now it's "ok to me". Moving up! I'm a bit bummed that two of the people I nominated (Scroby and TS) are against each other, and the other (MisawaGQ / World's Worst Man) isn't in the bracket, although that was a courtesty nod anyway.
  2. Take a trip all the way back to the year 2006 and relive the opening round of the last tournament. Read such classic quotes as "Who is the fagshitter that nominated me?" and "Who is the fagshitter that changed my original post about the fagshitter that nominated me?" and many more.

  4. So, yeah, Hardys vs MNM is fairly awesome but it was difficult to watch that PPV without heavy use of fast forwarding, especially the main event. I love Striker's gimmick, though. My audio for the main event was weird too, beginning with the Heyman promo (the audio was about a behind the video).
  5. He explains that aspect of it as well. In short, "not cool".
  6. Isn't Larry Hennig supposed to be inducting Curt, or is he just doing the inductee speech?
  7. Well I suggest going to WWE.com to watch the Foley interview (plugging his book) where he discusses the deal, but long story short - he saw her on SmackDown back when SmackDown sucked (he has a nicer way of saying it) and thought she could be a big star, so he talked to her backstage. A good, platonic friendship began.
  8. Isn't gripping the ropes how one counters that move? I thought the finish was supposed to be Melina countering the rana by holding the ropes, but Mickie took a bad fall.
  9. March 7th Updates: December to Dismember, December 16/96 Monday Night War, new NWA episode, repost of the Piper "Legends" episode. Not much this week (unless I'm missing something) but they put a LOT on last week that I still haven't watched (WCCW, CWF) that expires next week. The MNW is good this week. David Sammartino appears on Nitro! Crazy. I look forward to the ECW trainwreck. I skimmed it previously on a download and at the very least I know Hardys/MNM is good, hopefully the rest is so bad it's good.
  10. Oh man, I was going to nominate you too (because you nominated me in the tournament I lost to Slayer in round 1).
  11. I'm being nominated by World's Worst Man. He just doesn't like this corner of the forum enough to let you folks know himself. Maybe I can be matched up against Slayer and lose by a blow-out again!
  12. I'm pretty sure I wonder this every year during my Mania watching, but who the hell was the suit that was flailing his arms around and terribly oversold Ken Shamrock's belly to belly suplex at Mania XIV?
  13. From Meltzer's Tuesday update: --Mickie James suffered a slight stinger last night in landing badly on the missed huracanrana spot in her match with Melina on Raw last night in Phoenix. The feeling is she narrowly escaped a very serious injury.
  14. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2007/03/06/3704792.html Former Olympic judo bronze medalist Allen Coage -- better known to wrestling fans as Bad News Allen and Bad News Brown -- has died suddenly. He was 63. Coage died early Tuesday morning in Calgary at Rockyview Hospital, having been rushed to the hospital, complaining of chest pains. Three weeks ago, Coage underwent hip replacement surgery and had been making progress on his recovery. Monday night, he was home alone and called longtime friend Gerry Morrow, complaining of chest pains. Morrow got him to the hospital. Coage broke into professional wrestling through the New Japan Pro Wrestling organization, training in Japan and spending the first few years after the 1976 Montreal Olympics in that country. He was a star in the Calgary Stampede promotion as Bad News Allen, having bloody feuds with the likes of The Dynamite Kid, Archie 'The Stomper' Gouldie, Bret Hart and others. In the WWF of the late 1980s, he was known as Bad News Brown, and feuded with Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper. He had been working the last number of years as a security guard at a mall; "Teenagers are a pain in the ass. You always have to run them off," he said in July 2006. Apparently they didn't know who they were messing with. "It don’t matter to them, they're tough." Coage is survived by his wife Helen and their children
  15. You'd think Cena would have thought something was up when he walked by Johnny Nitro, in his wrestling gear, standing at the Gorilla position. Anyone else catch that?
  16. The ceremony already sold out and it's not being televised this year anyway (and if it was, it would probably just be Lawler/Hennig/Rhodes), so the idea of who people know, don't know, or what would 'draw' is moot.
  17. Either way, I second the SJK nomination. Edit: Which someone already did.

  19. Booker or Batista to ECW? I'm guessing neither. I'm thinking that the WWE will still call these ppvs (for awhile at least) single brand ppvs and they'll slowly be adding guys from the other brands on the ppvs and Cena's just on it because he'll be the guy from a different brand that they'll be promoting the most. Though I wonder if they'll put any ECW guys on the show, other than Lashley. If you take a closer look at the poster, you'll note it says "World Wrestling Entertainment Presents" instead of the usual "Single Brand Presents" and all three logos are at the bottom.
  20. He's wrestling Finlay this week, hence my "4 out of 5 announced matches" comment. Anyway, I made the switch, but then swapped Kennedy out for Umaga so I'm not any more diversified. Hopefully he squashes someone or defends his title.
  21. The fact that 4 out of 5 announced matches involve people that cost 4-5M each is a bit annoying. First I had Orton and Cena (Orton on the basis he'll be winning a MITB match sometime this week), then decided to go back to Edge/Orton because I figure there will be some chair beatdown, but now I'm thinking I'll swap Edge out for Taker or Batista, just to have more of a mix.
  22. For awhile I misread this thread title as "Services for the McKenzie Group" (as in a funeral).
  23. Yeah, that was reported in last weeks WON. I'm not sure how people got "WWE will be only advertising one match per PPV AND pushing the cruiserweights" out of that story, but whatever. Four touring purposes, the shows are still split, but the PPVs will provide "fresh match-ups".
  24. Either Ticketmaster is having issues or tickets for this went really fast - I couldn't get one at 10:14.
