I somehow forgot about the ECW show (it's normally the first thing I watch!). I have the "Cane Dewy" promo on DVD and I believe I have that Raven/Richards vs Pitbulls match on some VHS tape, but it was still an enjoyable hour. For political reasons, I found Tazz and Styles putting over The Dudleyz as the greatest tag team ever interesting.

Rashida Jones is on Letterman tonight.

Well, according to a google search: "Check out MF Doom (a/k/a Viktor Vaughn or Madvillain) - it's the lead dude from KMD's solo stuff. obviously people listen to hip-hop for different reasons these days, and this is definitely not party music...but the dude is by far the most clever and creative rhyme writer that I've heard in years - his rhyme scheme is just asinine - he rhymes shit like "rob reiner" and "knob shiner", "borderline schizo" with "sorta fine tits though" and "bug out joe sixpack" with "dug out yo' chicks back". I have a tough time listening to any other hip-hop after listening to his shit."

Funny story... kind of... about my lack of skills at this game. 7 years ago or so, on the PS1 version, I just could not get the Blitz command needed to win what should be an extremely easy battle against Vargas. I finally did it, realizing I was making a stupid mistake, and vowed to not make whatever mistake it was again. Here I am now, apparently making the same mistake, and not doing the Blitz properly. I don't know what I was doing wrong in 2000, but apparently I've been misunderstanding the highlighted buttons in the GBA version. Why I would think it was telling me to hit "up right down" and not "left", I don't know, but I blame it on the d-bad being black making me think the white in the instructions was showing what was to be pressed. I thought it was some weird way of saying "Right, Left, Right" (but with some leeway?), but I'll try Left, Right, Left now. Man I feel dumb.

The chick Turk traded novelty glasses with looked like the woman from the Special K cereal bar commercial that doesn't understand that her friends are talking about sex. I'm probably mistaken, though.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.
DrVenkman PhD replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
Anyone up for making a gimmick account "Lord Alfred Hayes" to randomly post in threads stating only "Promotional consideration paid for by the following" with pictures of GI Joe action figures or whatever? -
Dwight was great the party. "That's feces" "Oh good you're awake" And of course the car scene at the end. Roy's heel turn was some crazy TV. Great episode. Of, and of course Creed gets a good laugh out of one joke (his side business).

I found it odd that this episode's flashbacks portrayed Earl and his dad as not really being at odds considering how the relationship was presented the first time he appeared on the series, but it's possible I'm not remembering something there. Either way, an enjoyable episode.

UseTheBanFeatureUh. I remember that brief period where he was gone and it was great. He just trolls and makes ridiculous comments that are clearly made only to bait people into yelling at him.

That was probably my favourite AWA show that has aired on 24/7. I could be wrong but I think Billy's partner was a young Don Muraco.

The HBO references during the MSG show are amusing. Vince plugging PBA Bowling and a movie with Shirley Mclaine is great. The show itself is on the dullside but I expected that going in.

I would call this a more detailed report, but it's really not, but it is a second set that says the heels won the 6 man: The show opened with Batista telling us that it's on with him and the Undertaker. That's why he laid him out on Sunday. Better interview than I expected and the crowd was kind of unsure what to do at first. Undertaker will respond to him on next week's show. Joey Mercury teamed up with Deuce and Domino to beat Matt Hardy and the tag champs in a six man match. They aired the Curt Hennig Hall of Fame video and the people loved it. Hennig got a big pop. Chavo Guerrero beat Scotty Too Hotty as we got to see the new faces of the Cruiserweight division. They did another Finlay and Little Bastard vs. The Boogeymen match. I didn't catch who won. Rey Mysterio came out and talked to the fans. He's doing great and will be back in action soon. The fans loved him. Then Vince McMahon came out with Umaga and you can guess where this went. Vince ran down Rey, Rey stood up to him, Vince hit Rey and Umaga laid him out. He won't be back so soon after all! Booker T beat Kane to win the Money in the Bank Qualifying Match. It was a pins count anywhere and Booker got the pin after Khali came out and attacked Kane. He wanted better competition? Looks like he has Kane for Mania. The main event saw Batista beat Mr. Kennedy to keep the title. After the match, Batista was feeling all good about himself when, you guessed it, out came the dead man. Taker laid the chokeslam on him and got a big pop for his efforts. -- So how is Umaga attacking Rey setting up a new Mania match? I wish Meltzer wasn't so cryptic in his daily updates / I got my newsletters in a timely fashion.

Well I'll take solace in the fact I'm either missing a bad women's match or a boring big man match. I also had a weird thing happen where all of the shows that expired today were gone yesterday, which isn't a promising development. It also seems to me there hasn't been a new AWA episode since late January, which would mean there was not one this month. I'm wondering if the last episode reached the point where Greg Gagne had been fired, leaving them with no host.

You took my job! There's also an Andre the Giant video in Specials. I tried watching MNW after work last night, knowing full well that after working a 12 hour shift I would fall asleep. I got through Nitro but fell asleep before the Bret Hart interview on Raw. Am I getting shorted on the Shorties? I still only have the 3 from last week.
-
The only way my Raw could have been better is if I had Khali. I only had 3 people from Raw (Umaga, Melina, and Edge) and they all did well. I have Lashley (triple threat title match tonight), Burke, Striker, and Snitsky for ECW and Kennedy (also in the specialty match tonight), Chavo, and Teddy Long on SD. This is shaping out well so far.

It will be weird watching ONS in the future, hearing Joey's call of (paraphrased) "sucidie dive by Mike Awesome, a shame he didn't actually complete the move's name".

I have the cheapest HD set that was available (on sale at Future Shop last summer) with a name brand I've never heard of or remember, I don't have any composite cables, nor do I spend the extra $10 a month my cable company requires for me to actually get any HD use out of it for TV watching. Does this kind of consumerism anger HD enthusiasts?

"Tengen was a video game publisher and developer that was created by arcade game manufacturer Atari Games. After Nintendo nearly single-handedly revived the market in the United States, Atari Games realized that there was still money to be made in home video games after all. Since Atari Corp. was already involved in the home video game market with the 2600 Jr., 7800, and XEGS game consoles, Atari Games chose to create a new brand name to market their games under. They also chose to make games for the market-leading Nintendo Entertainment System rather than introduce a new home console of their own. The new subsidiary was dubbed "Tengen", which in the Japanese game Go refers to the central point of the board. (The word "Atari" comes from the same game.)" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tengen_%28company%29 Oh, and this is what Altered Beast looked like on the NES:

I hope they don't announce anything else - this is a rare day where I have to be at work for 4pm so my team is mostly a random assortment of "well this guy has been pushed lately" picks. This is a key week for me, too - I lost my 1st place spot and am now many points behind in second. The worst part is, it's Degeneration Sex that is in 1st and we have "?" listed as their forum identity.
-
Yeah that picture was good too.

I used to use the "zoom" button (which is an odd name since it just changes the picture format) but I've just gotten used to how everything that isn't widescreen looks in widescreen... not all that different, really.

WWE.com was able to snap two shots before a “police” officer came speeding around the bend on a ten-speed bicycle and shiny helmet informing the SmackDown Superstars they were treading on “sacred and private property.” “We’ll leave,” said Paul, “Just do Brian and I one favor, don’t tell Xenu about this, we have a match to win tomorrow.”
-
That's pretty unfair to not count the Spirit Squad - they were a cohesive unit.

Here's the thing - it seems a LOT of cable companies suck at getting the shows from WWE or WWE sucks at getting them to the cable company. Since you're likely one of handful of people in your market to be a subscriber - and out of all the subscribers, how many actually know what they should or should not be getting? - you need to harass WWE.com's 24/7 feedback telling them you don't have what you should (even if you don't know for sure - just say "I hear some people have this" or "should this section be so empty?". A few posts up, I gave an update of everything my cable provider uploaded on Wednesday (and plan to continue doing so on a weekly basis because, well, that's my plan). In that post, it mentions how I received zero of the Legends shows since the first episode and that I kept e-mailing until I did. It's very hard to track exactly what should be happening when because WWE removed the calendar.
