Well, they did follow Dwight around at Staples. Sassy Staples Employee was a fun character.
-
No doubt flustered trying to explain the ineptitude of Dwight's fake position in an effort to explain why he felt the need to wear a tuxedo in response to his memo.

What's the story with the very ugly chryons that pop up in some episodes? They look like they were made in Paint. Did these Raw's have some new graphic that said "WWF!" in them and needed to be replaced, but for some reason were only used in some episodes? Were these abominations actually in the original broadcast?

It was a bad day when you opened your mail and found gay pornography. -
I wasn't being sarcastic or anything, the issue literally has him stating "for reasons which I have no idea" in regards to IRS. Of course, that could mean he didn't know the reason for the switch, but to me, the tone is "this is a let down". It worked itself out pretty well though.

Why did you "huh?" Obi's vote, Roho? Confused someone didn't vote for you? -
WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

There's an MSG show described in the latest retro Observer as being very bad but apparently containing an excellent Undertaker vs. Bret Hart match. Has this aired on 24/7? I have vague memories of seeing an Undertaker/Bret house show match, but not Hercules (as a face) vs. Warlord or anything else mentioned on the card (HBK/Snuka, Savage/Jake, Non-Tatanka Chris Chavis vs. Kato). I'd like to see this show. -
WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

An interesting tidbit from the 2/10/92 Observer: "There are negotiations going on to use Lawrence Taylor for a gimmick at the next card in the Meadowlands. " Huh. -
Courtesy of the latest Retro Observer (Feb 10/92): - IRS replaces Shawn Michaels on the proposed Shawn/DiBiase team, Meltzer is baffled as to why. It was thought they would be facing LOD at Mania VIII, but it's mentioned later in the issue LOD didn't wrestle at the SNME tapings due to Hawk being injured. - "In order to get the correct response in the building [for Sid turning on Hogan] and avoid what happened in Albany when the fans cheered the "wrong" man during the turn, they had Justice do a dark interview just for the live audience where he talked about how much he hated Texas" - The "Doctor Harvey" character who used the stethoscope to check on the squash victims before they were stretchered out was Sid's idea. He had the same idea in WCW but they didn't go for it (the stethoscope part, anyway). - The backstage segment where Undertaker stops Jake from hitting Liz with a chair (the cliffhanger to SNME, where Undertaker grabbing the chair was shown on Superstars later on) was actually filmed in a different arena. - "Action Jackson (Perry Jackson) got a try-out in Amarillo doing a P.N. News rapper gimmick which got over pretty good so I'm told". - SummerSlam - at least from what Meltzer was led to believe - was slated to take place at the Capital Center in Landover, MD.

I remember when Jericho won the title at Unforgiven, I thought his angle with Shawn would slowly fade into the background until it came back hot and culminated with Shawn beating him for the title at Mania. What a fool I was on that one. -

Definitely Not Hot Young Wang Region 1. Goldengreek - Why the hell is he called goldengreek, anyway? 2. TaigaStar Most Likely Homosexual Region 1. cabbageboy 3. AmDragFan - Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, AmDragFan is just like you. He loves grape soda. He knows what it's like when the guy in the supermarket won't take your "food stamps." Or how it feels to wait all month for your welfare check. Hey! Ho! Hey! Ho! BUTT Fuck Stupid Region 1. RoHo - "Reply as you post"? This is your plan? Wasn't this what the posters were doing already? 7. DarKnight The "I Tried to Save Good Matchups Until the End and Now I Have a Fuck Load of Them" Region 8. Cartman 2. Enigma - Nothing can kill the Grimace. -
I'm starting to have dreams as Cranston!

WHO CARES? Were people this bad in 1994 when WrestleMania X was promoted as "Ten Years in the Making"? This is such trivial nonsense. -
Charles: So, Assistant to the Regional Manager. Jim: Assistant Regional Manager. All kinds of great stuff with Charles (that was his name, right?). Jim trying to explain why wearing a tuxedo was in response to a memo about being unprofessional was also really funny.
-
Well Michael is in next week's episode description. The title for that episode ("Two Weeks") makes a lot more sense now as it likely indicates Michael's two week notice.
-
I finally started burning through the Raw episodes. I knew this from when I found an old Superstars tape a few years back and observed Rick and Scott killing some jobber with a stiff German and Dragon suplex, but Steiners vs. Jobbers = fun times. Some poor schlub gets the Screwdriver on episode 19!
-
I played a board game based on BSG, and though I know nothing about the show, it was really fun. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

A 1991 chapter named "Falsely Accused" - now that's funny.

No, Rey just challenged him. It probably will happen, but it's not official yet. -
That's... odd. How did this happen? At any rate, from F4W:
-
What a wacky situation. Much like the "fun teen flick" Get Over It.

This is a weird question, but were the locker rooms used for interviews in the early 90s just fake sets? In 90/91 they all seemed to be blue and exactly the same with all of these small lockers with doors, then in 1992, every PPV locker room became beige.

WWE General Discussion - March 2009
DrVenkman PhD replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I did some clean up - Savage stuff has it's own General thread, the two comments about the LOW video game got moved to that thread, and a bunch of stuff about Mania got moved to the Mania thread (which is a bit redundant since Raw made it clear those JBL/Kozlov plans were out the window, but at the time, it was Mania related stuff).
