YO! TSM raps: John Cena in 2009
DrVenkman PhD replied to Ed Wood Caulfield's topic in The WWE Folder
But he had 1-ups on his wristband, so there was nothing doing there. -
When they opened the show with blood (which may have been Flair doing his own thing) and followed it with an Extreme Rules match (which admittedly is not a super violent affair or anything), I did wonder if Vince's panic mode got him thinking that PG is not for him.

Yeah, before putting two and two together with the "not setting up someone at ringside who can make the save" deal, I pulled a zio and wrote my own assumption based storyline where Lawler was not allowed to get involved as an announcer.

Another Agent of Oblivion question of the day
DrVenkman PhD replied to King Cucaracha's topic in No Holds Barred
I don't bet on this or that but I drop money into slot machines and they very odd round of roulette. Sometimes I win, often I don't. I left a boat casino in Hammond, Indiana with $200 (off of playing $40) in March of 2008 and that's the last significant non-break even win I had. -
I thought it was strange Lawler just watched the proceedings, but I figured they didn't want to set him up as someone who can make the save when the going gets tough due to the main event segment (and yes, anyone who read the latest F4W will see I basically said the same thing as Alvarez on the subject, but I came to the same conclusion beforehand).

One thing that bothered me, albeit very briefly and I completely forgot about it until something reminded me of it, was Jericho's walk and talk revealing the belts are just props sitting at the Gorilla position. Man, I want to believe these people own them!

He'd be better off becoming Ted Mosby: Sex Architect.

Sometimes WWE reminds me of my work ethic in school - they've known for weeks they need to work hard on something but halfass it despite the fact it could really end up hurting them, but when the pressure is on, they decide to be awesome. Every segment on Raw served a purpose for the Mania build, and this one show did more to hype it than everything from the Rumble until last week combined. Some DrVenkman Notes: - The lack of (intentional) colour in the past several months really makes it seem like a big deal when someone finally blades. I think the Flair beatdown looked a bit weak, but the idea behind it and overall execution was great. I have no faith in Jericho vs. Piper/Snuka/Steamboat being very good (though I am curious to see what Ricky can do) but damn, I was appalled - knowing full well this is all a story and the watch was more than likely a replica - that Jericho would destroy Ric's retirement watch. Getting pissed at the heel for being a dick = good angle. - I'm a sucker for 8 man tags that end in a finisher fest, so hooray to that match. It was also nice to know that Flair was really looking forward to Finlay being tagged in the match. - I'm still not very interested in Cena vs. Show vs. Edge and the build to that on this show was probably the weakest part (because I've already written it off as 'whatever'), but they're trying, so that's fine. I think in the end it will be a good match, but I'm not feeling it right now. - JBL was on commentary no more than 45 seconds before he threw out "THE LIGHTS ARE ON BRIGHT", and then he said it AGAIN right after. That bit of annoyance aside, I look forward to his retirement because hearing someone talk about "professional wrestling" and Lou Thesz on commentary is always appreciated. - The Shawn Michaels vignette was money. This reminded me of last year when the build to Mania was mostly "hey, Flair and Shawn are going to have a big match" without really doing anything (besides the retirement angle) to make you care, then they did the Old Yeller promo and it buys galore. So awesome. . - Stephanie needs to dress in casual attire all the time.

It's not for profit, they're just trying increase awareness. Harvey's reference = *****

I assume he meant "serious thinking".

2009 TSM Worst Poster Tournament: Final Four

A Vietnam vet told me that meant, like, he went unseen (he kept calling himself "spook"). -
A programming note: Instead of BBT being a rerun at 8pm and a new HIMYM airing at 8:30, the new episode is on at 8pm and "The Bracket" episode is on at 8:30. My DVR self-righted itself, but your mileage may very.

If intangibility gave me the power to distort the space time continuum enough that I could visit cartoon lands, I may have to rethink my plan. I'm also reminded of a classic Moe line, "Now to go back in time and get me some caveman hookers!"

Grays. Sports. Almanac. That and spying on some naked celebrities / people who I know and aren't at all famous but hot, take the time to see what was really going down in the Land Before Time, and I have time, save Phil Hartman.

They're not as popular as Bangbus due to the fact they hate John Cena. -

Now it would almost be sad to see him go. Buch on tag alongs. -
Well Dunn were frontline members of the "Superstars Greet Pamela Anderson" troop at the 1995 Royal Rumble. Quite the indication of what the Fed was working with at the time.

If it wasn't a match (or involved Benoit speaking) they can air it.

That instance was an honest typo, which I have since corrected to make you look like you're yelling at nothing. Much appreciation on not quoting my original post. -

I actually had no idea who Tony Romo was until someone explained something about Jessica Simpson and a bad luck curse to me. I did play my sports ignorance well, but part of that was I really did get confused with rib mogul Tony Roma the first time I heard the name. -
What will be the worst movie of 2009?
DrVenkman PhD replied to Obi Chris Kenobi's topic in Television & Film
The children in R-rated movies reminds me of the funniest part of the movie "Pineapple Express" - watching a mom take her two children, who looked to be about ages 4 and 6, if that, out of the theatre, but not until Bill Hader finished pantomiming a blow job. It was all kosher before, I guess. Everytime I see the title "New in Town" (which I've never heard of), my mind temporarily confuses it with the ICON game "New Kid in Town". I expect maybe 4 people (if that) who post here to understand what that statement means. -
He did a bang up Warrior on HIMYM.

I posted them in the appropriate section. Maybe you'll see them someday. -
Hearing the movie clocked in at about 3 hours with car and coke commercials and movie trailers was my cue to wait for it to air on TV in 2010. I was also told by my friends who enjoyed the movie I would likely be bored with no familiarity with the source material, as even they were bored a few times (but overall really enjoyed the movie).
