Depite that, they're going to let Baroni come out dressed like a cross between Apollo Creed in Rocky 3 and a 70's pimp.

Depending on your point of view, that was pretty or ugly as hell. I pretty much had the same reaction you did.

So this Thompson guy Slice is fighting. Legit guy, or tomato can being fed to the "name" fighter?

After looking at her wiki page, I can say that Mickie is one of the few women not in prison that I would not mess with.

On first glance, it looks right, but obviously Jin might not necessarily be dead if the island doesn't want him to be dead, so this is still a toss-up. But either way, I'm not wrong here. And I think Charles Widmore is the second person Sun blames, so her plans for revenge will likely figure into next season with it starting with their meeting tonight. Well, Jack did say to Ben that Sun blames him (Jack) for Jin's death, so either a) he's right and Sun hates him or b) Jack's overactive guilt complex is flaring up again. If it's b) I see Ben using some sort of Jedi mind trick on her ("Did you see Jin get blown up, Sun? Are you SURE he's dead?") to get her to come along. Either that, or Sun used tonight's meeting with Widmore as a setup to eventually turn on him and have Sayid (or, for a real mind fuck, Desmond) brutally finish him off in the finale. Anyone else wonder where Farrady and the red shirts are? Did they get zapped along with the Island, or did they just not get picked up by Penny's boat since they didn't have any sort of signal, or what? Oh yeah, I'm REAL interested in why Miles decided to stay on the Island, and how his special ability is going to play out. He seems adept at playing everyone off against each other if it suits him, so this should be fun watching him next season.

Sarah Connor Chronicles

Agreed. -
Would they only get a fraction of the amount if they beat the wrestler? Also, do they have to make up a name for themselves, only to have it modified to something better by the ring announcer? (sees who gets that one.) Only if Bruce Campbell replaces Lillian for the match.

My team is at 10-5 with one game to go and currently sitting 6th in the Western European pro league Zeta conference. It's a pretty competitive league. My DT has slowed down stats wise since the midseason due to teams no longer trying to run on us. It's going to be a brutal playoffs, it's almost one of those "any team could beat any other team" situations, it's so even.

Hey Broward, you going to catch this somewhere? I don't feel like ordering it, and PPVs like MMA and wrestling always seem to be better suited to crowds anyway. I figure a Hooters or something in the area will be running it.

Haven't heard of the book until now. Might have to go to B & N tomorrow and see if I can find a copy.

You can try getting downtown if you want if you're only an hour in. That might be a bit amusing. It will definitely make the action pick up.

OK I've been catching up with the last few weeks of Impact, and Steiner's backstage interview is classic. On one hand, I'm pretty sure that that was done in one take because it was so random and rambling that there's no way Steiner could remember enough of it to do it again. On the other hand, I have no idea how Petey, Khan, or the interviewer didn't laugh at least once during filming. "I'm a genetic freak, and I'm not normal" indeed. I like Cheerleader Melissa. I don't really think she was wrestling face though. It's just that the fans liked her more than Daisy. Plus, her using the Vertebreaker was pretty cool. Haze took it like a champ. I could see them doing something like what cabbage suggests. It's Russo, he loves doing stuff like that.

The Disturbed song I beat on Hard first time through, somehow. I didn't score very well but I passed. The rest took me forever. I still love going back to playing Knights of Cydonia, at least until the HO/PO part about 2/3 of the way through. I hate that part.

Between Downey and the last 10 seconds, that red band trailer might seriously be better than 90% of whatever comes out of Hollywood this year.

Back to regular reviews this week, and it is much less venomous. GTA IV

By "bad" I meant it was too short. It tightened the plot up but I wanted more of everything.

Well, my CW didn't come through last night, so I missed this and Reaper. Can anyone give me a short synopsis?

US networks announce Fall schedule
Conspiracy_Victim replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in Television & Film
So what's the deal with this one? I'm always on board for a Mike Judge product, but I hadn't even heard about this. Per IMDB: "An animated TV program that revolves around a family obsessed with doing the "right" thing environmentally, politically and socially. " Sounds like a jab at PCness. I will give it a fair shot. -
Yeah I thought before the first ep. when they showed the silhouettes (sp) of the new Gladiators they had one guy who looked huge and had an animal skin of some kind over his shoulders. I thought maybe it was him. Or maybe I'm just imagining the whole thing. And the bit on Crush on E:60 was OK. Nothing earth shattering (she's popular because she's hot and kicks ass, she gets a lot of exposure that the... more homely MMA females don't get, they don't like her "selling sex") but it was still nice. Didn't know her dad was a QB for the Cowboys back in the day.

US networks announce Fall schedule
Conspiracy_Victim replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in Television & Film
Fuck CBS for cancelling Shark. There's always got to be a network that I damn to Hell for cancelling a show I love to watch, and it looks like this year it's them. I hope Eli Stone tones down (or better yet eliminates) the political rhetoric they throw in to every show. Every week I sit down to enjoy it (I like everyone on the cast, and while the plots are, well, you know how they are they're still OK) and every week they throw out some asinine and unneccessary jab at Republicans and/or conservatives. It's tired and annoying. -
There are only twenty-six episodes. That's how long most anime series'/seasons run, with some exceptions (Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi only had fourteen). I'm assuming that 26 weeks is the length of the Japanese TV season or something like that, since most anime titles get 26 or a multiple of that. As stated, there are exceptions though. Full Metal Panic: TSR only had 13 (which had it's good and bad points, but left me wanting more overall).

Yeah Nikki's header there on the Eliminator was a bit scary. When she hit the seam in the pads right at the base of the next structure my first thought was, "Did she just break her fucking neck?" Phoenix is indeed hot, and the dick move on Nikki was great. She doesn't quite beat out Crush to me, but it's close.

I watched the movie on a recommendation before seeing any of the episodes and I was able to pick it up pretty well. Watching the episodes up until the movie (it takes place late in the run, like 20 episodes or so) would probably help you understand the interactions a bit better, but I wouldn't say it's mandatory.

I wonder what happened to the "I luf Double Double E!" Kozlov? Edit: It might just be me, but as long as you don't ask him to sell anything, I actually don't find him that bad. He's got a different style, his entrance is certainly different.. I really don't mind just letting him going out there to squash jobbers every once in a while.

Team just won 103-0. Offense had just under 300 yards passing and 411 yards rushing. Opponent had -13 yards rushing, 79 yards total offense, and punted 15 times. Our offense had 160 total pancakes, including one by our QB. Personally speaking, from the DT spot I had 6 tackles, a sack, a hurry, and a forced fumble (when I tackled the QB, I'm trying to figure out how that didn't count as another sack). Good day for football.
