  1. JERICHO AND KANE?!?! WHY, JR, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT EITHER!! INSANITY, IT IS!!
  2. Was it my imagination or, when Bischoff first walked in, did one of the girls really say that Eugene had sent them into the room?
  3. "Smackdown: Just Bring It" stories are going to become the new rage of the Hardcore Discussion folder. Kinda like the Gang Wars. Only a lot worse.
  4. *ahem* Sorry I'm so damned popular, Hoff. You know how it is....
  5. That's not the cause. Choken One didn't contribute anything to this forum. In fact, many times, he detracted from intelligent conversation. Take a look at the baseball thread from this week if you want. That should be grounds enough for his banning. He was way out of line. Then, add in all the different flaming comments he had outside the Hardcore Discussion folder. Factor in the "fucking imbecile" or "asshole" comments he made towards people in the WWE folder, the amount of subjects he immediately labled "stupid", the times he called someone "idiotic" for stating their opinion....add in all of those. Now, make sure that you don't forget the post-whoring replies. The one-word posts, or the posts that simply don't add anything WHATSOEVER to the discussion. Like.... Why, that just provokes immediate conversation, doesn't it? And I'm sure, with that attitude, people will be able to discuss the topic at hand with him in an intelligent manner. There were numerous reasons for his banning. More so than just "I don't like him because he's stupid."
  6. Well, first off, let's start with a little exercise. Out of Choken One's 20,000+ posts, detail for me one post that stands out in a positive fashion. Whether it be an eye-opening intelligent post, or a side-splitting humorous post, or just something incredibly entertaining.....give me one single post that Choken had that improved anything on this forum. Now, out of Choken One's 20,000+ posts, can you detail for me one post that stands out in a negative fashion? I'm sure that, for many people, many different posts popped up in their head. As unfortunate as this is, Choken One really didn't add ANYTHING to the forum. He was not the person to look for when you wanted to have a smart discussion about wrestling, baseball, or any other medium. His knowledge about these subjects only seemed to exist on the surface, and once you tried to go into detail, it became quickly obvious that he wasn't nearly as experienced in the subject he was trying to argue about. He didn't add any humor to the forum - I can't remember one single time when I looked at a Choken One post and felt any single urge to laugh whatsoever. And were his posts entertaining at all? Did they add discussion to their forum? Did they serve any other purpose besides raising his own post count? No. Now, this wasn't even the worst part. The fact that Choken One was bland beyond belief isn't the problem here. It's the fact that he - MANY TIMES - resorted to flaming when there was no need for it. This was detailed earlier on in this thread. Just from the FIRST PAGE of the WWE Folder, I found five different flaming comments that were uncalled for. I didn't even bother to bring up that Baseball thread, which was just ridiculous as well. The guy loved to comment on the "idiotic" ways of others, yet failed to see the amazing irony in the fact that he was consistently proving himself to be even more idiotic. I just don't see the quality posting coming from Choken One when I see him responding to a post calling for Angle to return to a WWE ring with "You're a fucking imbecile." Although I personally don't intensely agree with Choken's banning - His relatively worthless posts didn't cause any HARM to the board, and I am of the school of thought that people need to get thicker skins outside the Hardcore Discussion folder - I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. It was an understandable decision, all in all.
  7. PFL, don't worry about it. I already sent Hoff a PM. Just to make it official: OAOAST Italian Championship Drek Stone© vs. Sly Sommers
  8. So......anybody want a shot at the Italian Championship? Preferably, somebody that would be able to write the match - or at least a good portion of it. I'm going to be a little short with time this week.....
  9. I don't think of this as posters tattling on other posters. I think of this as a type of intervention. Something to help you become more aware of your bad posting habits before you're harshly banned. You know.....like the intervention that you had a short while ago.
  10. Thanks for the extra comments, man. Looks like we're pretty lonely in the Feedback thread this week so far.....
  11. Van Dam signed one of those pre-contract extensions. The formal contract extension is basically guaranteed to follow up. And I doubt one week of Velocity duty is going to kill any title credibility he could have. Like I said, they've been building up the Cena/Angle feud - as well as the Cena/Luther feud - for months now. I doubt they're going to blowoff the Cena/Luther feud on a meaningless Smackdown episode next week. Especially since, if Angle and Guerrero are fighting at SummerSlam, they're going to need Cena to fight someone that will keep the Angle feud still fresh in people's minds. Cena and Angle are going to definitely fight sometime in the near future. And it's going to be Luther that's needed to bridge the gap until the feud with Angle is ready.
  12. Cena's not the U.S. Champion anymore. And if we're assuming Angle remains as GM through SummerSlam, he probably won't be getting another shot at the U.S. Title. I would slide RVD into that spot - like had been the rumors for the SummerSlam card a few months ago. As for Cena, they'll probably put him against Luther Reigns. Don't think the match next Thursday is going to settle anything. After Cena wins that, he'll move onto the big feud with Angle, leading to a blow-off match at Survivor Series. Other than that, I definitely don't think there will be 11 matches wrestled at SummerSlam. And I definitely don't think all the titles will be wrestled for either. I see the Cruiserweight Title, Women's Title, and both Tag Title matches getting erased for bigger matches - at least, for the time being. So.... SummerSlam 2004 World Heavyweight Title Special Guest Referee: Eugene Chris Benoit © vs. Triple H WWE Heavyweight Title John Bradshaw Leyfield vs. The Undertaker Street Fight Shawn Michaels vs. Kane Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero WWE United States Title Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam WWE Intercontinental Title Edge © vs. Batista Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton John Cena vs. Luther Reigns
  13. Coach: And before we continue with the second round, we have a special guest. Mrs Stephanie McMahon!! "I'm All Grown Up" blasts over the loudspeakers as Stephanie awkwardly steps onto the ramp with a 20s-style flowered thong, complete with red bonnet. She starts rubbing her right hand along her right thigh, meanwhile licking the fingers on her left hand, as the collective fans in the crowd begin to groan.* HHH: That's.....that's good, honey. I.....uh......Stephanie, what is the greatest achievement you've ever had? Stephanie: Um......remember when I won the Greenwich Meatball Eating Contest of 2003? That was pretty exciting. And then there was that Watermelon Eating Contest last January......that was pretty great..... HHH: Damn right it was. You advance to the next round! Stephanie: HOORAY! *Stephanie begins to jump up and down, her boobs vibrating violently with every jump. Suddenly, her bra rips off, and her right boob falls to the ground and begins to roll away. It abruptly rolls to the right and onto Edge's foot* Edge: Ah.....Christ......my foot. Not another injury! What the hell is that thing? Stephanie: I don't know. Like a bowling ball or something? Thanks, Hunter, baby! *Stephanie jogs backstage happily. Meanwhile, right before she's able to make it to the back, something falls out from behind her left thigh* HHH: I.....uh.....was wondering where the remote was. Fourth round for this woman!
  14. Highlights of the Diva Show: Coach: And here's Girl #1 Hunter: I...uh.....I saw that, when you walked out here, you stepped first with your right foot. You're making it to the second round! Girl: Hooray!! *Jumps up and down creating major b00bage!!* Crowd: YEAH!!!!! Coach: And now here comes Girl #2 Edge: I....uh.....I see you're wearing a blue bra. Everybody knows you wear red in July. You're not making it to the second round. Girl: Awww..... Crowd: *stunned silence* --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hunter: I.....uh.....I understand you're a firefighter. Bobbi: Yes. Yes I am. Hunter: Well....uh.....tell me how you would put out my fire. Bobbi: Um......uh......he he......use water. Maybe a fire extinguisher too.....? He he. Hunter: ......no third round -------------------------------------------------------------------- Orton: Sell this T-Shirt. Girl #1: Okay. Um.....I got $20 for it. Orton: What?! That shirt cost $25! Get out of here! Girl #1: *sob* Okay.... ::Girl #2 walks in:: Edge: Well, who's your favorite porn star? Girl #2: She's.... Edge: Did you say "she"?! You're going to the second round!!
  15. Orton: Sell this T-Shirt. --------------------------------------- See, now this is why those guys are the judges and I'm not. I never realized just how more valuable saying the word "she" was rather than....you know.....bringing in money to the federation by selling T-Shirts. True scouts of talent, Randy and Edge are.
  16. Hunter: I.....uh.....I understand you're a firefighter. Bobbi: Yes. Yes I am. Hunter: Well....uh.....tell me how you would put out my fire. Bobbi: Um......uh......he he......use water. Maybe a fire extinguisher too.....? He he. Hunter: ......no third round.
  17. Coach: And here's Girl #1 Hunter: I...uh.....I saw that, when you walked out here, you stepped first with your right foot. Crowd: *stunned silence* ....... Rinse and repeat. For a whole hour. This is certainly quality television right here!
  18. OH MY GOD!! I THINK I SEE A PAIR OF BOOBIES!! CAN THEY SHOW THAT?!
  19. People probably turned to SPIKE 30 minutes early just to make sure they wouldn't get shut out of the incredibly thrilling Diva Special. I know I did. Can't take TOO many chances, you know?
  20. Here's to hoping that Drea de Matteo wins the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a drama. She was just great on the Sopranos this season - ESPECIALLY on her final episode.
  21. OAOAST Italian Championship Hell-In-The-Cell Drek Stone © vs. The Mad Cappa
  22. I'm finally back for HeldDown feedback. This week, I'm going to try out a new format. Let's see how it goes. Matches 1) Skull Mask vs. Damaramu - Nice, little match. Personally, I think the blowoff match between these two guys should be saved for a PPV, especially since they had such a long partnership together. I liked the back-and-forth nature of the match, and I definitely understand the disqualification ending. The beatdown afterwards was pretty good as well, and it's great to see that Ryan Smith's mean streak is continuing as the weeks go on. Good stuff. 2) Jingus & The Sadist vs. The Love Doctors - Definitely a fun jobber match. The cowardly actions of the Doctors were very entertaining (The optimal heart rate, the stethoscope), and the match as a whole did a lot to put over the monster images of Hell's Hitmen. The short promo afterwards was also very well done! 3) Sly Sommers vs. Phoenix - Very good match between these two. I really liked the back-and-forth nature of the contest, and the story at the beginning with Sly's increasing aggression was told nicely. I loved the post-match antics as well. Calvin trying to rip open Sly's forehead with a pair of scissors is definitely hardcore, and just the right kind of buildup the "Emperor of Death" tournament needs! 4) Zack Malibu vs. Alix - Great match! I loved the beginning promo cut by Zack, and his cocky taunting of Crystal, Northstar, and Alix has only continued to further cement him as one of the biggest assholes in the OAOAST. The match itself was well done, with Alix coming so close to defeating Zack but still happening to lose cleanly. I was also a little surprised to see that nothing else happened following the match, but I guess it was a nice change of pace to leave the drama behind for once. Again, really good Main Event. Segments 1) Sly/Rave & Assault/Rick Promos - I loved the intersections between these three interviews. Very original. First off, the Sly promo was short, but good, as it did a good job of putting over his intense hatred towards Calvin. Second, I continue to like the cocky attitudes of the Rave & Assault squad. It was a nice touch to see how arrogant they were before the Rick segment, but then completely offended afterwards. The "Parental Indiscretion" match looks like it could really be something excellent. Finally, I loved that segment between Rick Edwards and J. Arthur. The confrontation was just so intense, and I like how Rick is becoming more and more of a decent human being with every passing week. Truthfully, these segments are continually becoming one of the highlights of HeldDown for me. Great trio of promos here. 2) Good mysterious segment with Popick. I'm not sure where the gimmick with the number 5 is going, but I'm interested in seeing anyway. 3) Really entertaining backstage promo between Candie and Alix. The comic book revelation was actually very funny, and I liked the growing tension between Candie and Alix leading into the Zack/Alix match later on. 4) The Hoff segment was just awesome. The stuff with Igor really had me laughing, and I marked out pretty nicely for the Mario Brothers. While the promo obviously drew some similarities from the Eugene situation, it still managed to maintain its own original identity, which made it all the more better. I know, a few weeks ago, Hoff was wondering whether he should continue his wrestler as an obnoxious jerk or as a vicious asshole. I think tonight did a great job of putting him over as both! The return of Gunner afterwards was GREAT as well. Again, just an awesome job. Very good show for everybody tonight. And, as always, comments on the Drek Stone/Mad Cappa segments tonight would be GREATLY appreciated. HELL-IN-THE-CELL?! *gasp*! SHOCKING!!!
  23. Well, it's not like I ever had to worry about that anyway..... But, to stay on topic: I rarely advocate anybody's banning, and this situation is no different. I'm a firm believer in the idea that people need to have thicker skins and accept an occasional insult outside the Hardcore Discussion folder. However, I also think that Choken One does need to change his posting style. While it doesn't offend me personally, I can definitely understand how people could get annoyed by the constant disparaging remarks in the WWE folder. Someone starts a topic trying to compare the HHH-situation with Superman comic books, and there you are immediately calling the subject idea stupid. You love to use the anti-smark rhetoric that we've heard so many times before. And I don't think I've ever heard someone use the term "idiotic" so much - many times when the comment is just completely unnecessary. You can get your point across in the WWE folder without resorting to calling someone an "idiot" or a "fucking imbecile." And truthfully, more people listen to you if you try to get your manner across in an intelligent way, rather than the customary non-original insults you like to hurl out in certain subjects. People are starting to notice your increasing flaming comments in the improper contexts, so it might be best to just hold off on them for the time being.
  24. Well, keep in mind that, this time around, there's going to be two fewer women in the group. Halle Berry isn't returning as Storm and Dr. Jean Grey....well, we know what happened to her in X2. You never know if they're going to decide to add at least one extra woman to the group. And what better woman, in the eyes of marketing, could they pick than Jessica Simpson? Don't discount her as a minor character just yet.
  25. Jessica Simpson joining X3 Hmmm.... ...... ......so how much does Halle Berry want to come back?
