In the Royal Rumble thread, I brought that on myself and promply apologized, but they obviously continued with their assault so I retalliated. I'm not hear to make enemies, but rather gain friends. There are people I get along with marvelously on the board, because they haven't jumped down my throat at one of my opinions. They rather, observe, listen, then agree or disagree in a proper manner. Not post a "F*ck You! You're a loser" post. That's all I'm saying. DFA EDIT: And to you CanadianChick, I do apologize for what I said that night. I was obviously overwhelmed by the flames that singed me. :-D From the Raw thread: (Edit: On a sidenote, Damaramu's immediate reaction to this: Interesting.) Was that written with the intention to create intelligent discussion.....or was it just used to invoke a reaction? Once again, here's another case of someone that does something to get some in the folder riled up, then complains about the results when he's called out on his action. You're not innocent either. This is a worse case than Damaramu because, in some cases, he may do it unintentionally. However, this kind of remark was done with the intent to make some board members angry. 1) The comment was dumb 2) The comment was done to get a hostile reaction 3) If you say something like that, be prepared to back up your opinions or welcome the criticism that you will get 4) Don't run into another folder and paint yourself as the victim. I love that some of the people who create the trouble in the WWE folder are running here now to complain how they were treated. As I've said, you can contrast from the opinions of others in an intelligent matter, and not be disrespected for it (Zsasz and Rudo). But if you come across as a whiner or as an asshole, you can't complain when someone says something to you.

Two sausages are cooking in a frying pan. One sausage says "Boy, it's getting hot in here." The other sausage says "OH MY GOD! IT'S A TALKING SAUSAGE!" and the first sausage says "WHERE?!"

I disagree strongly. Since when has there been a epidemic on the WWE folder of people afraid to spread their opinions? I don't see where that problem even exists. There are many that contrast against the normal opinion in that folder: MrZsasz has praised the push of Shawn Michaels over Chris Benoit, Rudo has complained about the Eddie title win and the Benoit Rumble win despite everyone else loving it.....having contrasting opinions isn't the problem. Yes, people might get heated during the arguments and let out an insult here or there, but the fact that there are different opinions on a certain stance is, for the most part, respected. I don't buy this whole "people are afraid to put up their opinions." People in the WWE folder are certainly free to have different thoughts than the norm....as long as they have the balls to back them up. Zsasz and Rudo, among others, sometimes make statements that go against the common Smart Mark response and: a) They argue back against those that disagree b) Are able to deal with criticism and the occasional dumb insult Some might dislike these two over their opinions, but there's no disputing that they know what they're talking about when they post - and people in the WWE folder respect that. But there are some that don't do as well a job as they do. They go against another opinion but don't back it up. They scream in caps to get attention. They repeat the same points over and over. Then, they mock other opinions and turn around and try to paint themselves as the victim. These are the people that get made fun of on the board because they just look ridiculous. Look at those Dama quotes from the Raw thread again and tell me that it's unacceptable for someone to call him out on his bitching. It was petty, childish, and frankly, a little embarrassing. Those kind of posts are the problems with the WWE folder. There is no shortage of unpopular opinions in the WWE folder. But most posters are mature, willing to argue for their opinions, and put up with the occasional unnecessary insult. Dama seems to be a little more sensitive than anyone else. We saw it when Sakura made a death wish and he practically screamed his head off for her banning. And we see it know. Taking stuff personally on the Internet in a wrestling discussion....that's a problem. Being afraid to share an opinion here at TSM.....has never been a problem and I don't think it's a problem now. And oh Dama, nice innocent Dama.... Couldn't that be considered trolling/flame-baiting? The same thing you are such an avid fighter against? The only difference is.....I'm not going to sit here and whine for action to be taken. Maturity is a wild thing.

No, Rudo, you're a sensical bitcher. When you bitch about stuff, you at least back it up with actual facts. You explain exactly what you think they're doing wrong, what you think they should be doing to build it up instead, and you put it in an intelligent matter. You don't scream garbage like: There most certainly is a difference. I don't mind people that disagree with my opinions. In fact, I welcome arguing with them just to try to get my point of view across. But in several threads, Dama has refused to listen to other people's thoughts, makes broad statements without backing them up, complains about something for several posts in a row, and is a sole believer of the theory of "If I use all-caps, people will be more likely to listen to me."

Would it be flamebaiting here to call you an incredibly weak-willed person? Do you not have any idea how to handle criticism? Can you not take an insult once in a while? Relax, this is just the Internet. And read the Monday night thread over. You are literally bitching about stuff happening that is a month away. There's much more in that topic, but I don't see the need to filter through all your responses.. Nearly every single post of yours in that Raw thread was bitching and moaning about the Shawn Michaels/Triple H/Chris Benoit angle. You were adding nothing to the discussion except constant screaming about how Benoit's treatment is unfair and how much you hate Shawn Michaels. Reading this for several pages is beyond annoying. How is that improving the folder? Using constant hyperbole, CAPITAL LETTERS, and nonsensical bitching about angles that still have a month to happen. I'm a little upset that Mike, Chris, and I were the only ones to call you out on your childish behavior. I don't look at that as flamebaiting. Flamebaiting would be making fun of you personally, making fun of Oklahoma, etc. Not the fact that you bitched for several pages - in my opinion, that's perfectly justified criticism that you need to seriously take a look at.

I'm surprised this thread went three replies before a mention of the now-classic RKO BOTCH~!

The topic starts off with JoeDirt asking: WWE could make some money on it, don't you think? Looks like this thread is about asking if a DVD of Van Dam COULD make money. Well, that's a question too. But it's a subquestion of whether or not it could actually make money. This is just a specific variation of the general question asked at the start of the topic. I don't see where you came up with this statistic. ECW fans would be buying Van Dam's DVD to watch some of his rarer ECW matches. This kind of market isn't being gained by putting out Brock Lesnar, John Cena, or Trish Stratus DVDs. And I think people here are underestimating the drawing power of RVD. He's generally one of the top-sellers of WWE merchandise. People want to buy his shirts. So more RVD merchandise in the form of a DVD shouldn't be a flop. Not to mention the fact that he's one of the few wrestlers people actually CHEER for in a match. If the people are willing to cheer for him, chant his name, etc.....how can you say that they wouldn't soon go out and buy his DVD? Who's DVDs would sell better? The main guys come to mind.......Stone Cold, The Rock, Ric Flair, Goldberg, Shawn Michaels, possibly Mick Foley, possibly Kurt Angle.... Triple H has had so many DVDs that it's a likely possibility the next one would flop. Not sure of the statistics of Brock Lesnar's DVD but I don't think it would sell better than Van Dam's. I doubt Cena's will too. Not many fans, although there is this misconception of all fans being stupid WWE sheep, should be willing to spend $20 on a DVD of a wrestler that has only been around for two years. Even despite their popularity. Eddie Guerrero? Maybe he would sell better. Chris Benoit? I really don't see the market there, besides Internet fans. I doubt a general WWE fan would choose a Benoit DVD over a Van Dam one, but that's just a big "What-if." Booker T? Doubt it. His popularity has really taken a hit as of late, and he's just not remembered too much for his WCW days. Meanwhile, as we see here, some ECW fans still remember Van Dam's ECW matches in a fond way. Big Show? No way. Chris Jericho? There's a possibility now, but if he turns back heel - forget it. Besides these men, who else would do good with a DVD? A-Train? Rene Dupree? You said 40% of the company could possibly sell better than Van Dam.....have you looked at some of the shit in WWE? Van Dam is certainly one of the more marketable superstars they have, and I'm sure he'd be able to sell more DVDs than some of the Main Eventers and high-midcarders there now. I would say he might be in the top 10-15%. But certainly not 40%!

I think this thread requires the reposting of Slapnuts's eulogy. The thread was closed before I could give him props on a funny, well-writen summary of the entire topic. I really think it catches the essence of the rawmvp saga, so for those that didn't see it, here we go again: I think this says it all.
-
You would be laughed off the third grade debate team. Nobody is even talking about Benoit, you twat. The main people saying RVD sucks are even acknowledging that it would sell well, we're just arguing that RVD is a bad wrestler. I can't wait for your next thrilling point. Moron. Well, to be fair, this isn't what the topic is about anyway. The topic is about whether or not a RVD DVD would be a good idea, whether or not it would sell, what kind of matches we should put on it, etc. I don't see how this thread turned into another "RVD is a shitty wrestler" topic.
-
We take some of those WWE matches.....add some pretty rare ECW matches.....there. We have a fairly decent DVD that people will be compelled to buy. Besides, the RVD/Austin and RVD/Christian matches aren't on DVD. Feel free to add RVD/Eddie Ladder match (Memorial Day Raw 2002), or RVD/Benoit Raw match (in July/August 2002) if you want. Didn't we say the same thing about Benoit and Eddie a few years ago? Give Vince time. If he gets desperate enough, it COULD be time to push Van Dam again. It's not likely, but there's a possibility.

Yeah, but for no legitimate reason. And what people forget is that the baseball gods were really mean to the Yankees lately for no reason. This is our reward for sticking through it. Please explain how the baseball gods have been mean to the Yankees lately. Winning in 96, 98, 99, 00. Getting to the World Series in 01. Getting to the playoffs in 02. Getting to the World Series in 03. Jeez, if the baseball gods have been mean to the Yankees, then just HOW bad must they have been to the Brewers? Tigers? Indians? Royals? Sox?! Cubs?! Even the Mets?! At least Yankee fans had something to celebrate about for three consecutive years. Then, for 2001-2003, they STILL had the whole season to look forward to, knowing that they would eventually make the playoffs no matter what. For the past few years, there has been some genuine EXCITEMENT for Yankee fans throughout the baseball season. What about those small market fans that don't get a chance to be excited for their team because there's no chance they'll ever make it as far as the World Series? What about them? The baseball gods must have been REALLY shitty to them.

The concept of a DVD is to include some of his best matches from the past. There are surely enough Van Dam WWE/ECW matches to fill up one, possibly two, DVDs. The way he wrestles now should have absolutely no effect on whether or not he deserves to get a DVD based on the matches he once had. So WWE is putting out a Best of RVD in ECW video? Not this again. RVD vs. Jeff Hardy - Invasion 2001 RVD vs. Chris Jericho - Unforgiven 2001 RVD vs. Stone Cold vs. Kurt Angle - No Mercy 2001 RVD vs. Stone Cold - Smackdown in 2001 RVD vs. The Undertaker - Vengeance 2001 RVD vs. Eddie Guerrero - Judgment Day 2002 RVD vs. Chris Benoit - SummerSlam 2002 RVD vs. Christian - Ladder Match - October Raw 2003 I just named a whole bunch of good-great RVD WWE matches that would be suitable for a DVD. Have you SEEN what's on that John Cena DVD? These RVD matches smoke almost any of those Cena ones. And personally, I think a Van Dam one COULD sell better than a Cena one, because you'll be getting some of the ECW crowd and a large percentage of the WWE crowd (people STILL like Van Dam, believe it or not) I don't see why RVD couldn't have his own DVD. I really believe it would move quite well.

The way he wrestles now should have absolutely no effect on whether or not he deserves to get a DVD based on the matches he once had. Besides, if WWE actually gave Van Dam a REASON to give a shit about his wrestling, he might be back to actually being motivated. Stick him in a high-profile storyline and watch his enthusiasm pick up. Put him on Heat against John Heidenrich and well.....you can't be expecting stellar results.

Well, I find this a little absurd: Derek Jeter: $21 million Jason Giambi: $20 million Mike Mussina: $19 million Bernie Williams: $15 million Jorge Posada: $12 million $87 million for 5 guys! 5 GUYS!! And now they're adding A-Rod to the roster. Wonderful. How can you say that it's the fault of the other owners for not spending as much money? THEY DON'T HAVE THE MONEY! And why should they sell their team? Because a miserable, cantankerous, pudgy owner in the Bronx is spending as much money as he can in insane deals, throwing shit at the walls and hoping it sticks? George should be the one that holds off on his spending. It shouldn't be the other owners having to continue to RAISE their payrolls. The spending in baseball is already WAY out of hand - and with deals like this, and with deals that Geroge made this offseason, it will keep going. And now it's the fans of the other teams in baseball that have to suffer. But then again....judging from Georgie Boy's antics at that funeral a few months ago, who knows how much longer he'll be around to do this.

So what you're saying is......you want more hilarious "mock outrage" posts? I'm here to oblige. Anorak, your post has left me outraged on behalf of all us boring bastards that use tedious, witless banter. I am just OUTRAGED!! ......sorry, just needed to fill my legacy of being cliche and loving it.

You need to replace that Triple H picture with a more current one. It's just not complete if you don't include his noticeable gut and double cHHHin. I would hardly consider Triple H/Brock Lesnar to be a "dream match." Shawn Michaels and the Rock? Definitely. Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle? Of course. But has the world REALLY been clamoring for a HHH/Lesnar match? It just screams "style clash."

Mississippi is where cousins are fucked. Alabama is where pigs are fucked. Oklahoma is where pop culture doesn't exist. Hope this has cleared up any issues. -

Would you like me to share some of my annoyance over Damaramu with you? There's more than enough to go around. -

From snopes.com: EDIT: Having problems with the image. This is the link: Picture of Hippie Kerry Supposedly, that is John Kerry sitting behind Jane Fonda during an anti-war rally at Valley Forge, PA in September 1970. I just have to ask: What is the logic of painting your entire campaign behind the idea of being a Vietnam War veteran.....if you protested the very idea of going to war in Vietnam? It just makes Kerry look like a hypocrite. Supposedly, he protested the war and found the whole thing immoral. However, he constantly brags about having served in Vietnam, and he has no problems using the entire experience as a launching pad to the presidency.

So What Did You Think Of The Contract Singing?
NYU replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Again why should he? Benoit was after Brocks title and Heyman did everything he did to keep Benoit from it and Heyman won. If anything Heyman just rub it in Benoit's face. But then.....why would Heyman be so angry the night after the Rumble upon learning that Benoit has jumped to Raw? Either he's happy that Benoit won't be wrestling Brock, or he's angry that he just lost the Royal Rumble winner to Raw. He can't be both - well, unless proper explanation for his emotions was revealed to the fans. And that's taboo in WWE. -
Whoa, whoa, Rudo. You're forgetting Kevin Dunn's REAL claim to fame in WWE. Forget video production. Dunn did something even more remarkable. Mr. Dunn.....was the man responsible for coming up with the necrophilia storyline. If that doesn't provide him a permanent job in World Wrestling Entertainment, I don't think anyone is safe.

Stat Boy just seems to lack the charisma needed to host a show like "Around the Horn." Say what you want about Kellerman being an assertive asshole and all that, but he KNEW how to be entertaining and how to keep a show like that in order. Every episode I've seen of ATH since Stat Boy has started consists of Paige and Mariotti shouting to talk over him, and Stat Boy taking it with a smile on his face. That's not how you run a show like ATH. Plus, it just seems to annoy me that he has the tendency to give a guy 6, 8, one time 10 points on one turn. What the hell is the rush? This might all be stuff that can be fixed as the weeks go on. But it just seems to me that Kellerman's natural charisma was a perfect fit for the show, and a perfect catalyst for the normal journalists that appear. Stat Boy is much better suited for a 1-minute spot on PTI where he reads off a sheet of paper and isn't needed to CONTROL a half-hour show. -Oh, and yes, it's quite obvious PTI is worlds better than ATH.

Well, the two people that advanced deserved to advance, so no problem there. But I can't be the only one to think Fantasia was good.....but not THAT good. Yeah, she was the best one of the group, but she hardly did anything to blow me away like she did with the judges. I just found it to be.....above-average. Wasn't much more than that. And I certainly can't see her winning the competition. To me, she just wasn't good enough. Personally, I haven't found anyone that has REALLY impressed me. I started watching American Idol 1 in the middle of the season and I knew Kelly was the best one. From the initial auditions of American Idol 2, I knew Ruben would go far, and I told everyone that watched it that he would be the one to win. This Idol so far - I just haven't found anyone I could solidly pick, or even get behind and root for. Hopefully, this will change in the next couple of weeks.

Damn Bionic and his advanced keyboard. I wish I had an idiot button on my keyboard to press.
