Jeeves and Wooster A Bit of Fry and Laurie Both early 90's, I do believe.

http://www.freewebs.com/ -- Best site builder I've happened across, ever. They have quite a few templates to choose from, or you can build your own via html (sadly, there's no way to mix the two). I've built two sites on there: one is for my Broadway shows, and the other is for college. Give it a look see if you like: http://www.freewebs.com/julie-swan/ EDIT: Just noticed the "high web space storage". Umm, how much are you looking for? Freewebs, I know, doesn't offer hardly anything. If you're looking to store very large files (ie, movies purely for example), there are temp sites to use.

Found a few good deals at the site -- thanks muchly for the links. Now here's another newb question. I've noticed on GameFaqs.com that they've uploaded save games. (Which may or may not be here today, but moving on...). Easy enough to download those, but how do we get them onto the ps2 mem card? I was thinking we put the downloaded save file onto a USB drive, plug that drive into the ps2, and then transfer to the mem. card... but I'm probably wrong. ^^;

Everyone has been boring tonight, thus far. Putting me to sleep more than anything else.

As soon as I get a PS2, DVD Burner, and Swap Magic, I'll be all over FFXII and RE4 like white on rice. For now, they're on my computer waiting impatiently. Concerning what I'm actually playing, that'd be Indigo Prophecy.

Why? If a cheap tv is all a person has, then more power to 'em. I'm in that same boat. We have this really old tv in our basement, that's really only good for movies and games. It's old, but still kickin'. I've never heard of an RF converter before, and always hooked up the PS2 to this old tv thru a vcr. I'm thinking I might get a new tv, though, just something small and not overdone. Namely, something real cheap to replace an older cheap (color starting to become green in certain spots).

I'm glad you commented. I've decided to go the Swap Magic/Flip-Lid route - no soldering, just a replacement cover and, well, switching discs. I doubt such a thing is sold in the local Wal-Mart (I've checked the site), so I'm supposing I'll get it at an online venue. Next to eBay I've never purchased from an online site. Where can you recommend for such a purchase?

I'll buy whatever the pawn shop has, but given that it's gonna be only $90 (well, 89.50) with cables and a controller, I'm certain it'll be an older model. Soft mod? Is that with GameShark trick? Yeah hard drive sounds cool, so long as they're not too expensive. Basically, I'm trying to fit everything under a $200-$250 range (couple with the need to get a dvd burner drive and an external HD, both for laptop).

I seem to make a lot of these sorts of posts. That's just because I love you guys. ... Anyway. I plan to buy a used ps2 very soon, along with a dvd burner (the latter has its own complications already mentioned in the Computer section). Naturally, given that I'm strapped for cash, I'm hoping to download games, burn 'em, and play on ps2. I mention this idly to friend, who said I would need a mod chip. Lo and behold, surprises of surprises, I've no idea how to go about installing one. Friend who told me is no help as, quote, she bought hers from "Malaysia, piracy capital". So, what's a good mod chip for a n00b who's never opened up a ps2 or tinkered around there, and one that is hopefully not *too* pricey?

I'm not sure. I installed the direct x it came with, which was 8.1, but I have version 9. It's only the flashlight that things get really fucked up -- it's so bizarre.
-
I would if I had a working ps2. Mine broke in November '04. How much are those things used now-a-days? Indeed. When I first walked into the room with the flashlight-dress, it was completely black. No floors, walls, nothing except for dress and the four-legged thing that pops up.

I'm trying to play Silent Hill 2 to see what everyone raves about, but damn if the game is near unplayable on my laptop. I can play at highest textures/resolution without a problem (I use intel integrated graphics), but the damn flashlight causes problems like nothing else. Anytime I try to use it, the screen gets all kinds of weird. I looked up some patches, downloaded the two at Gamespot, and still it's fucked up. Google doesn't help. Anyone know what's up? Some screencaps are below. I bumped up the brightness/contrast on the images. Before flashlight... ...and after. A really 'WtF??' thing. Since the flashlight is needed to interact with anything, this is seriously frustrating. Sometimes I don't even get zigzags, but pure blackness. Any help would be appreciated.

For most of the films I've watched, it's been without any preview at all. I recommend this tactic. My faves. X2: X-Men United Batman Begins X3: The Last Stand (teaser) Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride (watched at least 25 times when it came out) The Faculty Ultraviolet Sin City Once Upon a Time in Mexico Look 'em up on youtube if you wanna see 'em.

I actually enjoyed when Simon wasn't there. The girls got to offer more constructive criticism. I like Simon, but his comments towards the bad singers become repetitive.. Very good show, the New York one. Hardly a freak in sight - aside from Ian, whose lips and attitude really scared me. Since this is related, what does everyone think of Rosie's latest "opinion"? Basically she said AI is all about bringing down "mentally unstable" people. Personally, I think her views are just media-humping.
-
Wow...that was really surprising. She's extremely shy, but a good powerful voice. I'd vote for her.
-
Oh, gods, this girl is a perfect example of undereducated ghetto. She's so... lifeless. I can only hope this is a result of drugs. But at least the people, so far, have been normal.
-
Too many freak shows are what's killing the auditions for me. I'd prefer the normal people who think they can sing, only to have their delusions shot to hell. Plus, every once in a while, it would be nice to see, y'know, the good singers. Enough of the ten second '20 people got through to the next round!!' crap. And yay for our lil TSM team of 'Good Singers FTW!' We should get matching outfits or something.

That's what I'm wondering. The most effective scenes of the film surely had to be improvved and made up on the fly -- maybe he wrote down some jokes, but I'm confused about the nod. Maybe they just wanted to squeeze him in somewhere. That's not even worth showing up for, really.
-
I'm hoping Borat wins something. If they're going to blow his cover this much, might as well end it on a high note. Why the Dreamgirls love? It's black people, and Beyonce, becoming singers. Wow, we haven't seen that done a thousand times. I hope the Academy will, eventually or in another century, start giving out awards for movies that are actually good.
-
So, I'm wondering if anyone here has played it. Thoughts, reviews, etc? Looks great from a few videos/reviews I've seen -- the lack of a trial really sucks, though. Plus, there's three expansions -- I'm not sure which to go with. Opinions on gameplay/servers/etc would be great.

I currently have a Dell Latitude 110L -- one of those basic-of-the-basic types. I've had it free since Feb. so I can't complain (offer from the college). The major drawback to it, well second to the 30gb HD of course, was the lack of a dvd burner. At least for my field of study, that is. I looked on the dell site for the upgrade that matches the comp. That wasn't too hard; I've had it bookmarked for a while. The main issue I had was how to install it. How to take out my current one, put another one in. I'd love to know where to find 'em I did try looking that up via google; but looking up specific models lead to sites where to buy things. Basically, I'm a complete newb for upgrading computers. The last thing I wanna do is screw anything up...obviously.

Installing World of Warcraft

Okay, maybe 'immature' wasn't the correct term. Overly colorful, bright, and non-realistic. I still don't understand the love for that game. I mean that in a genuine, honestly-curious way. I can understand that. I can barely do PVP because it lags so damn much. If the game wasn't free for me - due to a generous boyfriend - I'm not sure I'd continue to play. PvE can only be entertaining for so long. I'd love to find a good non-mmo rpg, but so far no luck. Anyone play Guild Wars? -
Out of curiosity, how could you have seen it so early?

Just now getting around to watching episode 2. The one Asian woman with a cold wasn't too bad; I actually thought the judges were a little too harsh. Sure she wasn't good enough for AI, but I don't think she was tone deaf. Eighteen minutes in, and there's a lot of scary people. Like the novella gal with too bright of lipstick... ew. She looks so bored and deadpan, it's scary. The mom reminds of me MAD TV, actually; Stuart's mom. Freaky. The bro and sis duo were cute in that Disney-tween kind of way. I can actually see them on one of those types of movies. The bro was definetly cute in that shy, shining-star way. As for the tall woman... she was okay, but I think they put her through just for the amusement factor. She definetly won't be winning.
