Don't stay in the tourist traps, aka International Drive and close to Disney. You;re going to pay out of the ass for lodging, and the gas stations overcharge for fuel by like 30 cents a gallon. That was six years ago, when I lived there, so I can only imagine how bad it is now. Staying in Kissimmee isn't *too* bad. Everything is usually within a 15-20 minute drive. And yes, by all means no matter what, go to Busch Gardens. You won't regret it. I used to work for Iron Mountain and my delivery/pickup route took me behind the Magic Kingdom. Let me tell you, there is nothing like watching a character shift change. The women playing Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, Jasmine, et al were some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Me, I would take Universal Studios over Disney. No matter where you go, you are going to have to deal with crowds and tourists from overseas. International Drive was always popping back when I lived there, I can only imagine what its like now. Stay off of Orange Blossom Trail. If you take it too far north, you;re in the hood fo sho. Its interesting to see what it looks like, as they spent a ton years ago to put in big sidewalks and proper lighting to give the illusion of safety... but the more things change, the more they stay the same. I want to say that downtown Orlando is a happening spot, but the last time it was any kind of happening was in 1995. When I left, the place was a ghost town. There used to be stores and clubs and a pretty decent if old-fashioned mall, but before I left the place shut down at 5 o clock, once all the businesses and government workers went home. It was a shame. Take all of this with a grain of salt, since I left there in 2002. During the ten years I lived there, I didn't go to many of the attractions, as I was too broke and too busy trying to keep food in my cupboard and the lights on... I;ve been thinking of going back for a week or so, if only to see how the place has changed, if it has at all.

I have had a Sony laptop for 3 years. I love it, even though I wish I could run it with 2 gigs of RAM. With a decent speaker system and a 500 gig external drive, its close to my main system in performance, and that system is 4 years old.

UFC 88: Breakthrough - Liddell vs. Evans

Wow... that was about the sickest KO I have ever seen. I hate to say this, but Chuck needs to retire NOW. Otherwise, we are going to see Tank Abbott II. -
Randy Couture signs new 3 fight contract with UFC
Rendclaw replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Even for me, a slightly more than casual MMA fan, I recognize that this is about the biggest thing for UFC. I may be buying into Brock playing the heel, but every time I hear the man speak, I want someone to beat his head in. He needs a little bit of humbling. I just don;t know if Randy can do it after being off for a year. If anyone could it would be Randy, but Brock has frightening strength which will be even more scary when he learns how to properly apply it, both in the stand up and ground games. I don't know about any of you, but Dana putting his hand on Randy's knee while he was doing a phone interview was a bit disturbing to me. Its business sure, but there still has to be some unresolved issues between those two. -
Randy Couture signs new 3 fight contract with UFC

A lot of blame goes to Dana's willingness to be totally unreasonable at times, and unwillingness to compromise. Randy is not the only one to be at fault in this mess. -

It looks interesting, and thank god that they got the original actors back together.

Don't Cross Alicia Sacramone.

Last time I was in the ATL was 1994 for Dragon Con. That was the con to end all cons for me, perfect mix of geekery and alternate lifestyle.. I liked it so much I blew off my family reunion which was going on that same weekend, and members of my family were pissed at me for YEARS. I hate the airport, and Rip was dead on about the traffic, even though my stint was 14 years ago. But it was cool to just walk around and see what was going on.... If I wasn't so sick of the Southeast weather patterns, I wouldn;t mind living there at all.

I love the smattering of boos when they go back in the cage.

Whoever thought of this element in HIAC is brilliant. This is a great match so far. EDIT: There is your Holy Shit moment of the match so far.

Way to throw crap at the wall, Matt. I love this smart crowd with their yays and boos as they exchange punches... And Batista with the win.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

Its a touch ironic watching Rampage sign the baby, even if what Dana said is true. -
Josh is not going anywhere until his contract is up. After Childress bolted, Josh is one of the main reasons people come to watch the Hawks at all.

Can you imagine the sheer chaos that would ensue if LeBron went to Europe?

Even if it was a preseason game, Mike Hart looked pretty decent last night. Too bad Addai is in front of him and barring an injury, he is not gonna see a snap until garbage time. Colt Brennan needs to learn the WCO and have it down pat, because at some point he is going to play. Campbell will struggle or get hurt or something, because Washington draws quarterback controversies like a steaming pile of crap draws flies.

Not to mention him just losing his temper just after Wang's fight and just kicking him off of the team. I knew BJ was crazy, but daaamn.

You guys kill me sometimes.

The thing that really saved his ass was the fact that he plead out. 15 months isn;t shit, really. I just hope that NBA officiating gets more consistent after all of this. I might as well hope for peace in the Middle East while I'm at it, something else that will never happen.

UFC 88: Breakthrough - Liddell vs. Evans
Rendclaw replied to jackmcmanus21's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
They could fight at 305 and the result would be the same. After the last fight its obvious that no matter what Franklin does, Silva has an answer and will take Franklin out. Rich knows he can;t beat Silva, no matter what. -
That was some show, both in a good way and a bad way. I see a Liddell/Silva match by the end of the year, since Dana is rather desperate to get his guy back on top of the division. And Silva is going to kill him. If Rampage took Chuck out with one punch to the chin, to quote Taz circa 1996/97: What do you think SILVA is going to do to him? You know him, Chuck! Seriously, I don;t really see anyone threatening Silva after what I saw of him tonight. The bad was the total bullshit decision against Johnson. CB had the submission of the night for sure. It was a good show overall.

That's my main concern about metal concerts these days... moshing used to be about just pushing, shoving and body checking, and for the last eight to ten years its a UFC PPV event... the last pit I was in was for Megadeth back in 1995. Another thing that chaps my ass is that pits will form at almost any concert nowadays. Hell, when I went to Maiden back in 2006 (I didn;t go this year because I blew my wad on another concert three days before), they started forming a pit there too..... I wouldn;t be surprised if one broke out at a Dixie Chicks concert sometime.

I agree that they should have Sam Elliot reprise General Ross, because that was the only thing that I could not get into. William "Accidental Tourist" Hurt trying to play an asshole general with a hard-on for Banner/Hulk. While he did an okay job of it, Sam Elliot had the look and the right attitude for the role, as was evidenced in the first movie. And they should have done a few more references to the first movie. The feel of the movie to me overall was that they started this off as a relaunch and changed their mind somewhere around halfway through it. If there were as many fights over the script as was rumored, that would explain things a little better.

He meant to say niggling, with basically means persistent and annoying.... I have no problem at all with the "seriosity" of the WWF, and going with a pure wrestling standpoint... Rock and Wrestling may have been the best thing for the WWF, but it was also the worst in a few ways.
