  1. I'm curious to know what it is the insurgents think they're accomplishing.
  2. I only included it for the sake of being complete. On the Tivo website, NBC and Universal (along with several other media companies and networks) are listed as "equity investors", so they do probably own a small part of it, technically. http://www.tivo.com/5.4.asp
  3. No. Evidence? (Not an argument, just asking a question.) World War II? The 1980s?
  4. When my wife had a miscarriage after being 6 weeks pregnant, I saw what came out of her. It wasn't a human being. It was a mass of tissue. I don't know when life begins. And neither do you. No, you don't. But they *are* her organs. WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT? You don't get laid much, do you? You're funny. And here all this time I thought the conservatives thought the government was assuming too much power. Please show me in any constitution (state or federal) where it says the state should be deciding when life begins, Mr. Strict Constructionist.
  5. I'm still trying to figure out why it was rated PG-13. The movie was clearly aimed at kids.
  6. I'm not sure much people are going to want to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory next week. I'm not saying I don't think it'll be a good movie (although Tim Burton's made some real crap lately), I'm just wondering how many people will be turned off by the apparent differences between this and the 1971 version.
  7. Being the top rated show on UPN is a little like being the valevictorian at a school for the mentally handicapped.
  8. You're acting as if the Supreme Court just woke up one day and decided that abortion should be a new right. A case was made that it should be a right, and the court agreed. And they ARE allowed to do this because of the 9th Amendment (a point which gets overlooked when people WRONGLY say the only rights we have are the ones already listed in the Constitution). And YOU can't prove that it is. Stalemate. That's why the woman who is actually pregnant should get the final say.
  9. There are many far better shows that NBC could raid from its cable networks to fill in holes in their schedule than WWE shows.
  10. Abortion is a protected right as part of the right to privacy. A woman's right to privacy, and the right to control her own body, is more important than a state government's "right" to decide when life begins. If I was worried about the state government overstepping its boundaries, I'd be more worried about the state legislators deciding they are the supreme experts in both biology and theology, and know better than a pregnant woman and her doctor when life actually begins. It is the state which is inventing powers for itself by telling a pregnant woman what she can't do with her reproductive organs, not the Court by telling the state not to.
  11. You know what really helps economic growth? Pumping hundreds of billions of dollars in deficit spending into the economy. Is there any analysis that indicates if the economic growth is public or private sector driven?
  12. The 9th Amendment says: Just because a right isn't specifically mentioned in the Constitution, it doesn't mean that right doesn't exist.
  13. They are owned by different parent companies. All the TV networks are owned by movie studios. NBC Universal owns: NBC, Bravo, CNBC, MSNBC, Sci Fi Channel, ShopNBC, Telemundo, TRIO, USA Network, part of A&E, the History Channel, the Biography Channel, National Geographic International, the Sundance Channel, and TiVo. Viacom owns: CBS, UPN, MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon, TV Land, CMT, Spike TV, Comedy Central, Showtime, TMC, Sundance Channel, FLIX, and BET. Disney owns: ABC, The Disney Channel, ABC Family, Toon Disney, ESPN, and SOAPnet. It partially owns Lifetime, E!, and A&E. Time-Warner owns: WB, CNN, HBO, Cinemax, Turner Classic Movies, TBS Superstation, TNT, and Cartoon Network. Fox Entertainment Group owns: Fox, Fox Sports Net, # Fox Sports Net (50% with Cablevision, owns many local FSN stations), Fox Movie Channel, Fox News Channel, Fuel channel, FX, National Geographic Channel (with the National Geographic Society), and the Speed Channel. 14. The current rumors for the plot are: A. The Kingdom Come Superman engaging in a massive war against the present day DCU so as to negate the KC timeline from existence and bring forth the reality seen in "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" instead. B. Someone secretly corrupting all of the DCU heroes in order to turn them evil <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't they JUST DO a variation of those in the "Public Enemies" storyline from issues 1-6 of the "Superman and Batman" book a couple of years ago? (A storyline which is currently being redone on the JLU cartoon?)
  15. My reason for wanting the RR2003 match is because, in my opinion, its the best match he ever had. Plus, he won clean. I'm a mark for a clean finish. Now, if for the sake of argument you think the WMX7 or Unforgiven 2002 matches with Benoit were better, then include them instead in your list. Yes, I should have included that one.
  16. It's A Wonderful Life 1998?
  17. I saw it today. Random thoughts: -They fucked Dr. Doom up, but got all the other characters right. -If Alba did a bad job, I didn't notice. -The plot was full of holes. -Thing looked great! -The Torch stole the movie. -It was fun to watch. -This movie is a C+ or a B-, not the F or D- the critics are making it out to be.
  18. Rebel Without a Cause 1969?
  19. Here's what I think should be on a Kurt DVD: Angle vs. Rikishi (KOTR 2000) Angle vs. The Rock (No Mercy 2000) Angle vs. Stone Cold (Summerslam 2001) Angle vs Hulk Hogan (KOTR 2002) Angle and Benoit vs Mysterio & Edge (No Mercy 2002) Angle vs. Benoit (RR 2003) Angle vs. Lesnar (WM19 or Summerslam 2003) Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero (WMXX or Summerslam...whichever was better) Angle vs. HBK (WM 21) Angle vs. Flair (Raw, June 2005)
  20. Hey, I said "please", didn't I?
  21. Thanks for making me spray Pepsi out of my nose.
  22. Any time you make a guy the champion, you have to consider how many challengers you can line up fo the guy. I think part of the reason JBL lasted so long was that there were plenty of babyfaces to feud with him. Are there really that many heels? I can't see JBL being acontender past GAB. That leaves maybe Eddie Guerrero (who I don't see getting another ME program, to be honest), maybe Hassan, maybe Christian (who I doubt they'd put in a program with, since Batista's already beaten him several times), probably Orton, and definitely Brock if he returns to SD. I think Cena's belt is safe for a while, given that they can have him feud with Jericho, HBK, Edge, Angle (not that they didn't feud enough on SD), and Triple H. Plus, they can turn Kane heel if they need to.
  23. When I was teaching in the inner city, I had enough black kids call me "nigga" that the word lost all its shock value to me. I know that's not the same as how Cornette was using it, but come on...its just a word.
  24. One more reason I hope they get a TV deal. I think part of the reason Rhyno couldn't get over in WWE was because he looked so small compared to a lot of the other guys on the roster. In TNA, he'd be a little more evenly matched size-wise.
