Is there any way this movie can be better than the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory?
Will it be more faithful to the book?
Does anyone even CARE if its more faithful to the book?
Will Tim Burton show the imagination he's shown in the past with Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands? Will it be another Planet of the Apes?
Will Johnny Depp's performance just creep people out?
Dude, you named like 3 tiny details that made almost no difference in the actual plot.
Compare that to a movie like I, Robot that resembled the book in name only.
edit: We need a separate thread for this discussion.
I can't honestly believe that they planned this whole thing out over 3 months ago.
What PROBABLY happened was that management realized after the weeks and weeks of "we want Matt" chants that maybe the crowd actually wanted Matt. They did the titantron gag during the wedding segment as a trail balloon. Of course it got a monster pop, and THEN the decision was made to bring him back.
I was just trying to illustrate that not everything in life is a conspiracy.

Funny, and here I thought they were trying to turn Cena into the next Stone Cold.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yeah and Orton was suppose to be the next Rock. Did Cena ever get taken away from the ring in handcuffs by police or backstage officials?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes.
You KNOW it was a work because Kane and Snitsky were conveniently brawling in the crowd giving Matt the opportunity to do the run in.
I'm not saying the firing 3 months ago was a work, just tonight.
Cause he caught him with a cheapshot instead of straight-up challenging him to a match.
Compare to the setup for Rock/Hogan (WMX8): Rock asked Hogan point-blank for a match.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Except Piper was talking about WHY Shawn attacked Hogan, not HOW he attacked Hogan.
If they are going to sell Summerslam on Edge/Hardy and not Jericho/Cena or Batista/???, then they obviously don't wont to sell a lot of PPVs.

I think they're allowed to advertise more than one match, you know.
