  1. I'm a little surprised by the Batista reference... Considering the Diva Search has only been around for a few weeks, was he even on Raw the same time this chick was? I guess they must've met during one of the "supershows".
  2. It sucks. A few words about the script: I didn't like Vickie Vale saying the same thing over and over for 3 pages. I didn't like seeing Robin's origin retold for the 1,000th time. I'm not interested in seeing any story through the eyes of Vickie Vale (Apparently Frank Miller thinks its still 1989. "I have date with Bruce Wayne! How cool is that?" **puke**). I didn't like seeing Gotham City cops talking like "Sin City" characters. I spend $3 on a Batman comic, I expect to see him before the final page. I already suspect Batman's going to go over the top with his war metaphor in the coming issues. And a few words about Jim Lee's art: All style, no substance. It is technically sound, but the characters are stiff and look like they're always posing. Everyone has the exact same facial expression all the time. All men look like body builders, and all the women look like Playmates. Virtually every shot is from the same perspective. Its as if the man thinks every panel should look like a splash page. He's more talented than a lot of the other fan-favorite hacks out there, but I got bored with his work a long time ago.
  3. I think he meant in Canada, though.
  4. You guys are overlooking: Although, I'll admit, it could be much worse.
  5. There's a recent actual Mallard Fillmore that really proves the point made earlier. http://www.kingfeatures.com/features/comic...llard/about.htm Select Sunday, June 26th, 2005 to see what I'm talking about.

    Booker T

Triple H had a far better match that year (2003) with HBK in December on Raw. Booker T's recent match with Kurt Angle wasn't bad, but he moves far too slow in the ring for my tastes. He had a good gimmick, but its been played out. His last chance was in the spring of 2003 before Triple H buried him.
  7. Ebert gives it ***. http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.d...EVIEWS/50628001
  8. The saga continues... more: http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/15/cia...e.ap/index.html Kind of gives you the impression everyone in Washington just sits around calling each other all day and gossiping.
  9. I like the way TV commentators feel like they have to explain the reason the Sopranos didn't "qualify for nomination" is because they haven't had any new shows in over a year.
  10. The only thing I remember about Rock/Angle/Taker was how Taker and Rock completely ignored Angle until he got in their faces. That was a pretty funny exchange. I'll agree the one a year later was a lot better, though.
  11. Rehnquist is now saying they'll have to pry his dead rotting corpse off the bench. http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/07/14/rehnquis...alth/index.html
  12. She should have enough money to, considering she's getting everybody to buy her most successful album twice.
  13. That was actually the liberals' fault, though.
  14. It follows an inner city kid as he tries to get into an Ivy League school, then through his freshman year. Kind of shows all the odds that are against him, and how hard it is for him to fit in.
  15. I can't beleive Jennifer Garner got nominated for anything. All she did all season on "Alias" was stand around and worry. Not her fault, but she used to actually have to do different characters. Now she's just playing herself as a CIA agent.
  16. Amadeus 1989?
  17. I get the feeling Ford hates Star Wars, but Hamill would've been great. I've always disagreed that they should've kept Maul around. Sure he looked cool, but he was really just a glorified button-man for Godfather Palpatine. He wouldn't have been able to carry the scenes the way Christopher Lee did as Dooku. Besides, you needed to get Obi-Wan over as a legit warrior by having him off a Sith.
  18. Hopefully the theme music for this one will be better. Or at least have songs that won't be recycled for use in a Mark Wahlberg movie. It'd suck ass if they got anyone but Peter Cullen to voice Optimus Prime.
  19. I live in Missouri, a state with an extremely powerful pro-life lobby. The politicians here will be having a Battle Royal for the chance to be the one to introduce the bill that outlaws it. Until, of course, the voters start kicking them out of office. The reason I see humor in this is that I know the conservative's recent populist rhetoric is just for show. They only cite public opinion when it suits their interest (namely, to justify their opposition to liberal judges and gay marriage). Since every poll shows most people want abortions to be legal to some degree, their populist rhetoric will evaporate faster than an ice cube in the desert. Its just an act. This move was only because they were starting to believe that it would never be possible to get a total abortion ban. Once the Supreme Court has a majority conservative justices, they'll quickly revert to their "abortion is murder" rhetoric and move for its outlaw.
  20. I thought that the "double super secret background"was just them trying to bust out an "Animal House" reference on us.
  21. I'm sure those Family Guy episodes were funnier than Jon Stewart even before they got moved to the new time slot.
  22. Shit, put him in a turban and teach him the suicide dive on top of it. That's money. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> **chokes to death from laughing so hard**
  23. Scott Keith's got DVD specs on his blog, though he doesn't list a source. http://www.livejournal.com/~rspwfaq/212155.html
  24. The best novels I ever read were "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving and "The Catcher in the Rye" by JD Salinger. I aslo recently read "A Hope in the Unseen" by Ron Suskind, which is a true story.
