Remind me to never argue with Rudo.

The WWE is Retarded, Exhibit 234897B: Hyping August's PPV matches before July's PPV has even occurred, thus sending the message to viewers GAB just isn't that important.

That's the spirit!

It might be more practical for the Democrats to let him go ahead and become a Supreme Court Justice, then use whatever unpopular anti-abortion, pro-business decisions he issues as an albatross to hand around the necks of Republicans in the next election.

The Question has at least appeared in various forms since the 1960s, and was the basis for the Rorschach character in "The Watchmen". He's had multiple series of his own, and has been published by 2 different companies. I rate him a lot higher than The Seven Soldiers of Victory. The Seven Soldiers of Victory were a group of characters from the 1940s that never really caught on with the public. They're hardly worth screentime that could be better served with more well-known characters (some of whom actually have ongoing books that might benefit from the publicity of a TV episode) like the Blue Beetle, Firestorm, the Doom Patrol, the Justice Society (although a few JSA members have had small parts in episodes), Nightwing, Batgirl, or Animal Man. edit: I just found out that Blue Beetle can't appear for legal reasons, and Nightwing and Batgirl are reserved for future Batman projects (although Batman himself can appear????). I'd still like to see Firestorm, the Doom Patrol, and some more of the JSA members.

He's been pretty big since he came back in 2002, but lately he has seemed far bigger.

I think we've all been too busy arguing about Hassan today to start an OAO Smackdown thread. I've basically decided the only way I can tolerate Smackdown is to watch a recording of it the next day. Cuts a 2 hour show down to 35 minutes usually. I'm glad to hear that Eddie/Benoit was good, since that's about the only reason I even bothered taping it tonight.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...?v=glance&s=dvd I remember when this used to come on after "That 70s Show". I loved this show, but as usual, Fox dicked around and moved it around on the schedule and started showing epsidoes out of order so you'd have no clue what was going on. Its basically the misadventures of a garage owner, his nuerotic (but hot) girlfriend, his skirt-chasing alcoholic father, his effeminate best friend, and his dumb-as-a-post brother. Stories were told through a combination of childhood flashbacks, black and white naration (which was usually recylced material from Christopher Titus's real-life stand-up routine), and interaction with the other regulars, and lots of jokes about drinking.

You'd think the name was a dead givaway.

OR Dear SmartMarks, Why is there even a thread about this bullshit to begin with? Sincerely, Me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dear vivisectvi, If something's only marginally funny when I did it, imagine how unfunny it is when you rip me off. Signed, Y2Jerk P.S. Most of us like tits. Pam has tits. Thus, we like to talk about Pam.

Have you seen Jim Rome is burning? PTI? Around the Horn? Hell, even Sportscenter. Those shows offend me as a sports fan. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> S-------T-------R-------E-------T-------C-------H

Other Hardcore Holly signature spots: -the dropkick -all restholds -"grappling" -walking to the ring -getting pinned

Here's another scenario that might be even better: Have the Taker/Hassan match end in a no contest. With no #1 contender, Edge reminds Teddy long that EVEN THOUGH he's not a Smackdown, he did win a title shot against Batista, and he plans to use it at Summerslam, thus ruining all the momentum of Edge/Hardy. That way, not 1, not 2, but 3 storylines have been fucked up beyond recovery. Its so stupid, I think they might actually do it!
-
I own a hell of a lot of books he drew, so I'm sad o hear he's gone.
-
Warlord? Seven Soldiers of Victory? What are they just randomly thumbing through the DC Encyclopedia for ideas? Sheesh. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope. They've been doing this kind of stuff since before that book even came out. The people involved know their DCU history. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> More like the people involved like using throwaway characters from DC history nobody cares about. Seriously, HOW MANY episodes have Vigilante and Shining Knight been in? Heaven forbid they should actually use characters that were really League members in the comics, and that most fans have actually heard of.
-
Except that's not his job.

Basically, you're asking the WWE to give you a reason to watch their programming. I'd rather they did this with storylines instead of new titles. There are too many titles people don't care about as it is. Of course, I know its very unlikely they'd give Heat is own storylines, because that'd be too much work for them.
-
And I merely pointed out that both of you guys were 100% wrong for attacking ESPN. Can't stand being disproven? Too fucking bad. Good riddance.
-
I think I've flat out said "I know why people would think terrorism" enough times in this thread, so it's not like I'm completely oblivious to the idea or shutting it down. I just don't think it was enough for it to get this point, to warrant this result, and that in the end, Hassan is the one fucked over in the most. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well...I'll at least agree with you that Hassan's getting fucked over.
-
If any of those SINGLE things were used, you might have a case. Since they were all used at once, you don't. The idea that those people were mimicking real life terrorists was definitely there. You're just choosing not to see it.
-
Its a broadly accepted idea that editorials do not neccesarily represent the views of the company as a whole. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Just because someone is wrong sometimes doesn't mean they're wrong all the time. Your argument is that ESPN is being hypocritical, but just because someone's a hypocrite doesn't mean they're wrong.
-
Hassan could draw 1,000,000 PPV buys and I'd still be against how he's been used. Money shouldn't be used as an excuse to do whatever you want.
-
If you honestly didn't get my point, then I was being serious. If you've ever made a mistake in your life, you're never allowed to say anything about anyone ever? The internet would shut down tomorrow! Besides, since the guy who wrote the article isn't the one who runs ESPN, your complaint is invalid.
-
The use of the throat slashing gesture by Hassan. The use of masked men wearing psuedo-military clothing, some of whom took praying positions. The use of piano wire to signify strangulation. The references to Davari as a "sacrifice", similar to how suicide bombers are portrayed as martyrs. The further implication that Davari was a martyr by the way he was carried out. That's the way I see it, and I'm certain that's the way the "creative" team intended it to be interpreted.
-
I think my point was obvious. Since the guy who wrote the article isn't the one who runs ESPN, your complaint is invalid. Sorry you have trouble comprehending my posts. Here are a few suggestions that might help you in the future: -Try reading my post slowly next time. -Sound out words you don't recognize. -And have a dictionary handy to look up the big words.
