  1. They raised it for last year, and I guess decided to keep the price despite this year's show being shorter.
  2. We'll see. I realize this is an argument I can't win, since when Trish does beat Christy, you guys will just claim that they changed the plan after the title changed leaked. Thus, the only virtue my point of view has is that it makes sense. Which is entirely why I think it's wrong. Sorry. You can't try to accurately predict WWE booking by making sense. Regardless, it doesn't make any sense that the line on the cover would be referring to her winning a title during a match that hasn't even been announced yet rather than it referring to her winning a contest that actually used the word "Diva" in the title. I acknowledge that I'm never going to win this argument, despite my viewpoint being the simplest, most fitting with established facts, and most rational. That's simply not how arguments on the internet are won.
  3. The real question is are people willing to pay $50 to see Batista kick Triple H's ass?

  5. credit: http://money.cnn.com/2005/03/01/technology...dex.htm?cnn=yes Ted Stevens is a fucking fucker.
  6. Trish's are definitely fake. Real breast have smooth curves, whereas Trish's curves are smooth, then are suddenly spherical.
  7. I still think its going to be a 3 team TLC match. Why else would it have 6 guys in it? Does anyone really think the WWE would put six guys in a ladder match if it wasn't tag teams?
  8. The line on the cover probably referred to her being the Diva Search Champion, because that's what she is. WWE never called her that. They used the word "winner" instead of "champion". Big deal. The two words mean virtually the same thing. Why would WWE put the cover on the air a full month before the match if that's what Playboy was referring to? Why would Playboy put that on the cover to be published 3 whole weeks before Wrestlemania (March 10th)? Why would WWE even share their title plans with Playboy? No, the cover was a reference to Christy winning the Diva Search, not being the Women's Champion.
  9. Mike and the Bots should do wrestling commentary.
  10. I think people lost their right to bitch the day TV shows got parental ratings and v-chips became standard issue in TVs.
  11. My guess is they'll do a 3 team TLC match (Jericho plus 5 other guys). Possibly Jericho and Benoit vs. Edge and Xtian vs. Tajiri and Regal.
  12. Michelle McCool deserved to win that No Way Out contest, by the way.
  13. Wouldn't having Angle cost HBK the match not only give their fued more heat, but also protect Edge? I love a clean finish as much as the next guy, but the benefits outweigh the costs in this case. The line on the cover probably referred to her being the Diva Search Champion, because that's what she is.
  14. Makes you appreciate Trish that much more, doesn't it?
  15. I agree. Chris Jericho and Triple H main evented Wrestlemania X8 (plus it had a much longer build-up), even if Hogan/Rock is what drew the fans (and is what people remember).
  16. credit: http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/28/m...reut/index.html This articles doesn't name names, but says that complaints were made. Seriously, this film (despite a few storytelling flaws) is a great work of historical fiction that realistically portrays the horrors of war. Can we all agree that people who would complain need to learn how to change the damn channel?
  17. You're actually a bit farther along then I am. I just checked it out on Saturaday and haven't had a chance to really sit down with it yet. The book did cause quite an uproar over its athenticity when it first came out.
  18. I didn't read most of Morrison's run...besides Magneto being under the influence of whatever it was (the alien intelligence thing from West Coast Avengers), what have they done. I have to admit I'm happy with the way they've kept the White Queen/Cyclops dynamic.
  19. One thing I never noticed before watching the season 5 DVDs how nice a body Mercedes McNab has.
  20. Oh, bite me. I never said the Industrial Revolution wasn't important. I was complaining about the number of curriculum standards devoted to that one subtopic while other things get ignored. I had to spend four weeks teaching the Industrial Revolution last year because there were about 10 curriculum standards devoted to it (i.e. how did it individually effect every single group of people who ever lived while it was still going on), while the Reformation got about two, and the school year ended before we even finished WW2. We have tons of things we're supposed to cover, but as long as we're spending weeks and weeks on details of a few things, we're not covering a broad enough range of events so students get a fuller view of history. The World Wars' causes and impact, the Great Depression, the Renaissance, the Reformation, the rise of Nationalism in the 18th century, the Age of Exploration, colonialism and imperialism...the list goes on and on...ALL OF IT IS IMPORTANT. But we're still expected to exhaust every topic in minute detail? edit: And don't even pretend we know who the hell the exceptionally hot chick in your sig is, either.
  21. So we're actually arguing over frequency? Even *if* there was a way of measuring this in exact terms, I doubt the documentation exists to prove anyone correct.
  22. http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/25/f...y.ap/index.html PTC They gave TV shows parental ratings and all TVs have v-chips now...what the fuck else do you idiots want?????
  23. What's this "we" stuff? Seriously, though... The reason history isn't taught very well in schools is because teachers are often given huge district ciriculum standards and are told to cover the whole thing, rather than picking and choosing what's the most important things. Thus, topics like WWII are not gotten to until May when there's little time to spend on them. Even sometimes when district's prioritize topics, often things like the social consequences of the industrial revolution (important, but not essential) are given first priority, and the teachers are again left without enough time to cover WWII. Another alarming trend is that teachers in some states are forced to rush through everything to meet state assessment deadlines, while other states do not require students to be tested in history at all. Add this to the fact that many history teachers are coaches, thus lacking the time to devote to lesson planning, and you've got a recipe for societal ignorance.
  24. Wes was such a damn pimp. His girlfriend from Season 2 was hot, too.
  25. ^Isn't Shadowcat in the new Avenger/X-Men/Magneto mini-series (written by Bendis)?^ Bringing Colossus back was actually a good move, though, considering how beloved the character is. I don't think anyone expected him to stay dead for as long as he did. On the other hand, Psylocke's return = pointless.
