  1. Haha your just figuring this out? SI doesn't know much about any sport. I love when they make preseason NFL prediction and then REVISE them mid-way through the year and STILL get them wrong!
  2. I'm giving RAW a pass for the second consecutive week because of the Stanley Cup finals on NBC. Doesn't look like I'll miss much anyway.
  3. Is game 7 going to be on NBC or OLN? I hope to God it's on NBC b/c if not then this whole hockey season has been a wash for me.
  4. I'm not a big soccer fan and don't ever watch it except for U.S. games in the World Cup but I got a big kick out of today's game. You have a crazy referee throwing red cards everywhere, rabid announcers who were yelling and screaming all game long about the terrible officiating, McBride in a crimson mask, and tons of goal scoring opportunities due to more spacing on the field. I like how the U.S. played against a good Italy squad and thought they deserved to win but maybe we should be blessed with the tie considering we were playing 9 on 10. Count me in for those who fear a loss to Ghana but I'll be watching.
  5. My brother and I had a load of fun with Clay Fighter. Our main game was Street Fighter because my parents didn't let us play Mortal Kombat. I rented WWF Raw so much that with all the rental fees my parents should have just bought me the game because I played it almost every weekend for nearly a year. Of course that was back in the pre-Blockbuster days when you only had rentals to like 2 1/2 days. The mega moves were pretty cool and yes, Diesel's was a pain in the neck to do. I remember that Luna also did the 1-2-3 Kid's mega move and if you performed it she'd just from corner to corner changing her physical appearance into the 1-2-3 Kid. Totally weird to say the least.
  6. Good one.
  7. Does anyone know who in the hell this guy is? It seems that day by day my Utah Jazz have morphed into an international basketball club. Do we have an aversion to signing domestic talent these days or what?
  8. What worries me about this new Latin American independence movement being led by the likes of Chavez is that it's not exactly stable. What is going to happen when the oil revenues Chavez has been using to finance his movement throughout the region and promote social services in his country (which have also not been functioning as well as people had hoped for...look at housing as an example) dry up? It's going to wreck the Venezuelan economy and considering that many economies are now falling into dependence on Chavez to break free of the West it could wreck the entire region again. I have no problem with countries like Bolivia renouncing the West and wanting to go it alone because I'll be the first to admit that they have been messed up by TERRIBLE policy making at the IMF and World Bank. However, if they screw themselves up just don't come back to us looking for aid.
  9. Well Cena was somewhat of a draw for me just b/c I wanted to see his ass get kicked by Sabu so if you call that a draw then I guess the WWE's logic fits this one. However, a good argument can be made that the entire concept of WWE vs. ECW was the main draw here and not any particular individual.
  10. RIP Quake. Wasn't he undefeated at WM as well?
  11. My worry is also that since WWE Creative is going to be in charge of this show that it bodes ill for ECW. Stephanie doesn't want ECW back and letting her write/book this show is like leaving the fox in charge of the hen house.
  12. I'm 19 and I remember around 1995-1996 when I had TONS of wrestling on my TV on Saturday. In the morning there was WCW Pro Wrestling at 9:05, WWF Livewire at 10, Smokey Mountain Wrestling at 3, USWA at 4, then WCW Saturday Night from 6:05-8:05, sometimes WWF Superstars at 11, and ECW at 2 AM. Then on Sunday you had the Action Zone at noon. I loved all the wrestling I got to see then as a kid and is depressing now when I have nothing to watch on weekends except a TNA re-run or OVW. I'd say my golden age was the Attitude Era just b/c I had become a fan pre-WM 11 in early 1995.
  13. For some reason I always got way more traction out of World Tour and Revenge than I did WM2000 and No Mercy. My best match was when I was Juventud Guerrera and my friend was Goldberg. My friend dominated me for five minutes but made the mistake of giving me a Jackhammer on the arena floor instead of inside the ring so the match continued. I fought my way back with some high flying manuevers until finally I got my special up, nailed Goldberg with Juvi's DDT and then nailed the 450 for the victory. My friend was so irate it was hilarious and it was really cool as I knew the match was over because no one ever kicked out of Juvi's DDT + the 450. That DDT was quite the awesome setup move that's for sure.
  14. I bet Charlie has to feel terrible right now and I hope he doesn't catch too much shit for this from the front office because it was a simple accident. That said Lillian is very lucky all she got was a sprained wrist. This ECW PPV is very confusing to me. You've got the WWE vs. ECW show on Wednesday and then you've basically got WWE vs. ECW matches on the pay-per-view. What's the difference? Last year's ONS is shaping up much better than this year's and I just don't see how they are going to book themselves out of killing the crowd in six days when you potentially have RVD and Sabu jobbed out to Cena and Rey. However, they'll probably have RVD win and then have it overturned later just so Cena doesn't get killed. Nice to see Raw becoming the HHH show once again. I was sick of seeing him in the first hour and it just didn't stop. I don't hate HHH but when you appear 5+ times on the show it really wears on the fans not to mention the crowd. Very uneventful Raw except for the whole Lillian deal.
  15. I'm going with home court in what will be a fun series to watch and am going to pick Dallas in 7 thereby allowing Mark Cuban to finally hoist an NBA Championship.
  16. Well there's one thing I can say about Kane and that's that he is a trooper for all the crap he's had to put up with over the years ranging from Katie Vick to the recent May 19th stuff. I can't believe they are making a sequel to See No Evil, though.
  17. I'm just trying to find a way to enjoy the game without having to constantly beat the computers brains out. However, with all the lame stuff the computer pulls sometimes I'm trying to get some good matches out of it. By the way, this was the result of my World Heavyweight Title Tournament that I had simmed a couple of days ago. Thought some people might want to see the results: First Round: HHH defeated Mr. Perfect at 6:08 with a Pedigree The Undertaker defeated Paul Burchill at 7:59 after a Tombstone piledriver Ted DiBiase pinned Ken Kennedy at 10:36 after a fistdrop John Cena beat Hulk Hogan at 12:56 after an FU Randy Savage defeated Ricky Steamboat at 10:02 after a superplex The Honky Tonk Man pinned Tito Santana at 8:14 after a fishman's suplex The Ultimate Warrior defeated Booker T at 5:48 after a splash off the ropes Chris Benoit and Fit Finlay wrestled to a 15 minute time limit draw Quarter-Finals: HHH defeated The Undertaker at 8:34 after a Pedigree John Cena defeated Ted DiBiase by DQ at 9:30 after DiBiase hit Cena with a chair The Honky Tonk Man pinned Randy Savage after a Shake Rattle N' Roll at 8:46 Semi-Finals: HHH squashed John Cena at 2:44 after a Pedigree The Ultimate Warrior pinned The Honky Tonk Man at 6:46 after a splash off the roples Finals: HHH defeated The Ultimate Warrior at 5:36 after a Pedigree
  18. Hey guys. Do any of you have any idea how I can adjust the sliders in the Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 game in order to get better simulated matches? Thanks!
  19. -Rick Martel should have gotten a huge push in the early 1990s by the WWF and should have been the last man eliminated by Hulk Hogan in the 1991 Royal Rumble
  20. Considering how Kentucky was embarrassed in the SEC Tournament I'm very surprised they got to host a regional.
  21. Hey guys. I'm in an intro to philosophy class and have to answer a brief question about platonic forms. Anyone know of an example of a platonic form and its exemplar in nature? Thanks!
  22. Why didn't the WWE just stick OJ with a partner and make some kind of new tag team? Sometimes they release people they deem as "worthless" when there are potential booking opportunities to revitalize an ailing part of WWE programming.
  23. When I think of Dukakis I think of that foolish picture of him in that tank with the Mickey Mouse ears on.
