  1. I was waiting for Mickelson to pull out a wrestling-style promo in Butler Cabin when Woods was sitting next to him. Sure, it wasn't going to happen because Mickelson is a classy guy and so is Woods but I could definitely sense a lot of tension in the air. Heck, Mickelson tooks Tiger's seat when they first sat down and then didn't want to/forgot to shake his hand after he was presented with the jacket. Regardless, I'm glad Mickelson won and I made a killing in fantasy golf with him and Tim Clark this week. However, I really wanted to see Olazabal pull out a rally after that eagle on 15 and somehow win the jacket. That would've been something.
  2. Yea I hear ya. I remember the July 1995 edition of WWF Magazine where he had an entire article devoted to him and he toured some WWF fan fest or whatever. Amazing that he's actually going to be competing for the WWE now.
  3. Here is my golf top 25 through the PLAYERS Championship. 1 Vijay Singh 1257 2 Tiger Woods 1212.5 3 Retief Goosen 964.5 4 Luke Donald 846 5 Jim Furyk 816.5 6 Phil Mickelson 803.5 7 Sergio Garcia 789.5 8 Ernie Els 780 9 Henrik Stenson 771 10 Tim Clark 766 11 Colin Montgomerie 727.5 12 David Toms 707 13 Jose Maria Olazabal 693 14 David Howell 683.5 15 Davis Love III 640 16 Chris DiMarco 633 17 Geoff Ogilvy 626.5 18 Scott Verplank 617.5 19 Paul McGinley 599.5 20 Michael Campbell 598.5 21 Adam Scott 594 22 K.J. Choi 590 23 Nick Dougherty 577.5 24 Chad Campbell 576.5 25 Bradley Dredge 569
  4. Woods has gone on record as saying that he may not compete in the Masters in order to be with his father who is suffering from health problems.
  5. Mark my words, if the government waters down any new types of immigration restrictions and continues to do little over the next decade there is going to be a resurgent nativist/fascist movement in this country. The politicians are distancing themselves further from the people and if issues like illegal immigration don't concern the Beltway then they don't get dealt with. I echo the sentiments heard above the illegal labor is allowing companies to keep U.S. workers out of jobs and is depressing wages in jobs like construction where my family has made a living for decades.
  6. I think Virgil finally breaking away from DiBiase @ the 1991 Royal Rumble deserves an honorable mention as well as Bret Hart defeating Mr. Perfect for his first IC title @ the 1991 SummerSlam. The crowd absolutley explodes when Bret rolls Perfect over in the Sharpshooter and when Earl Hebner runs over to ring the bell.
  7. Here are my updated golf top 25 after Bay Hill: 1 Vijay Singh 1207 2 Tiger Woods 1176.5 3 Luke Donald 846 4 Retief Goosen 839.5 5 Tim Clark 766 6 Phil Mickelson 759.5 7 Sergio Garcia 745.5 8 Ernie Els 730 9 Colin Montgomerie 727.5 10 David Toms 707 11 Jim Furyk 706.5 12 David Howell 678.5 13 Henrik Stenson 671 14 Davis Love III 645 T15 Chris DiMarco 633 T15 Jose Maria Olazabal 633 17 Geoff Ogilvy 626.5 18 Scott Verplank 617.5 19 Adam Scott 609 20 Paul McGinley 599.5 21 Michael Campbell 598.5 22 Chad Campbell 591.5 23 Nick Dougherty 577.5 24 Nick O'Hern 562.5 25 K.J. Choi 548
  8. Here is my World Golf Top 25 after the Honda Classic last week: 1 Vijay Singh 1163 2 Tiger Woods 1145.5 3 Luke Donald 846 4 Retief Goosen 836.5 5 Tim Clark 766 6 Phil Mickelson 759.5 7 Ernie Els 730 8 Colin Montgomerie 727.5 9 David Toms 707 10 Sergio Garcia 704.5 11 Jim Furyk 675.5 12 Henrik Stenson 671 13 Davis Love III 645 14 Chris DiMarco 633 15 David Howell 609.5 16 Adam Scott 609 17 Jose Maria Olazabal 608 18 Geoff Ogilvy 601.5 19 Michael Campbell 598.5 20 Scott Verplank 576.5 21 Paul McGinley 564.5 22 Nick O'Hern 562.5 23 Chad Campbell 557.5 T24 Bradley Dredge 536 T24 Billy Mayfair 536 As I said before, Vijay's lead is eroding fast over Woods and it probably won't be long before Tiger takes back the top spot. One thing that helps Vijay is he plays in more tournaments and can get more points, but Woods is always in the running for #1 because he nearly always finishes in the top 5 at the majors, World Golf Championships, and the TOUR Championship/PLAYERS Championship which are worth a lot more points than the regular tourneys. The rankings is based off a points system that gives equal weight to regular tournaments (each worth 50 points for 1st, 49 pts. for second, etc.) for the PGA and European Tours. However, the PGA Tour gets greater weight because it has more events count for more points such as the majors, World Golf Championships, PLAYERS/TOUR Championship, etc. while the European Tour just has the Volvo Masters and HSBC World Match-Play count for more points. Also, bonus pts. are built into the system awarding a player 10 bonus points for shooting the best round of the day, 15 pts. for shooting a 63 or below, 25 pts. for shooting a 59 or below, 15 pts. for winning a tournament by more than five shots, 25 pts. for winning a tournament by more than ten, -10 pts. for shooting the worst round of the day, -15 pts. for shooting a round over 80, and -20 pts. for withdrawing from a tournament after it has already begun.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tiger win Bay Hill this weekend and then move on to win the PLAYERS. He is just on a roll this year. I'll post my top ten golf rankings through the Honda Classic on here in several hours. Vijay is #1 but just barely because he's living off of last year's points (that were halved) and Tiger will probably overtake him by the end of the month.
  10. I want to know who is writing the women's storyline because they seem to have an ounce of common sense when it comes to scripting a wrestling show. The rest of these angles/stories are either embarassing or don't make a damn bit of sense.
  11. The poll is mostly insignificant other than the fact that Frist HAD to win because it was conducted in Tennessee. His people were treating this poll like it was a general election and even admitted they felt more relieved than jubilant after he won because a defeat in this poll probably would've doomed his presidential hopes. I wouldn't complain about that, though, because I don't think he'd be a great candidate.
  12. On a side note, I am really loving the format for the new NIT. On a second note, Western Kentucky has drawn the worst bracket in the field by having to play defending champ South Carolina. Oh well, I'll watch anyway.
  13. Does anyone know why Barry Horowitz push was aborted so soon after his feud with Skip in 1995? It seemed to me that he was getting a pretty good crowd reaction at the time compared to the other faces on the roster.
  14. I think I'm pissed off more at the thought that Chris Masters will probably be pushed this coming year more than Carlito even though he has none of Carlito's microphone skills or bearable in-ring talent. Believe me, Masters will be headlining Mania next year while Carlito is stuck in the midcard.
  15. So now instead of HHH burying Cena on the mic he'll get to do it at the contract signing by smashing him with the sledgehammer. zzzzzzz.....
  16. Tons of testimony, tons of delays over his health, and due to the fact that when these trials occur they want to charge someone with HUNDREDS of offenses so it takes forever to get through all of the legal work. This is sort of why I detest international justice because it takes so long and after all of the years of legal work and cost to the world we don't even get a fitting conclusion for this guy. I know people might say that justice was achieved because he died in jail but I see this whole case as a sham of international justice first and foremost and think it has done a lot to hurt the International Court of Justice for the Ex-Yugoslavia in general.
  17. Well South Carolina can burst someone's bubble tomorrow if they can navigate the winner of FL-LSU which is possible considering they have beaten FL twice this year.
  18. I'm interested in purchasing a full season of Raw from any year from 1993-1997. If anyone knows of anyplace that could assist me to get such footage I'd be thankful.
  19. I'm really enjoying this tournament. I love how the single-game dynamic adds a lot of meaning to every single one of these games. Hope they make this a bi-yearly or quad-yearly thing.
  20. I'm in. Team name: Britain United.
  21. Dang it. Why does the WWE have to come to Rupp when I'm at college for a PPV and will be away on a debate trip. I just can't catch a break.
  22. Well WKU can say hello to the NIT after it's blowout loss tonight to South Alabama.
  23. Wonder if this game will negatively impact Gonzaga's seed in the tourney.
  24. Does anyone have a recommendation on what to do to the slider for CPU Finisher Reversals? It seems the CPU reverses too much when it's in the middle (my Ricky Steamboat CAW got FIVE straight finishers blocked by the Rock last night and it pissed me off) yet I don't want to eliminate too much competitiveness from the CPU b/c I play on Hard difficulty as it is. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, does anyone have a CAW of Bodydonna Skip/Sunny?
  25. RVD-Funk? I'll take a pass. Also, if this is Funk's last horrah what are the chances RVD jobs? Also, I think I remember reading in Flair's book that Dusty has a good mind for the business...just as long as he isn't trying to put himself over but I don't think that will be a problem here by any stretch of the imagination. I also agree that SD! has been kicking the crap out of RAW since I've been watching SD! consistently in January (b/c my college gets UPN whereas my home does not). It just seems like a more wrestling oriented show.
