  1. I think that's gotta come from Phil Jackson. Honestly, I think he's the only one that could have made this Lakers squad "work". Even if another coach knew what needed to be done, I can't imagine that he'd get Kobe to buy in the same way.
  2. Great win for the Lakers. The Mavericks are still my team, but I find that I'm really enjoying the Lakers' first round games a lot more, as they've been exciting down to the buzzer, and watching Kobe prove the world wrong is always tons of fun. Oh, and they're 3-0 ATS so far, so that's another $50 in my sports betting account. Ka-ching!
  3. I'm a Jets fan and I'd love to see them trade up and take Reggie Bush. Matt Leinart's going to be a bust. He just is. He had the best supporting cast in college football history (on the offensive side of the ball), he completed a bunch of screen passes that went 50 yards, and all of a sudden everyone thinks he's a great QB. 50 different QBs could have won that Heisman for USC two years ago, he was just in the right place at the right time. Actually, who I'd really like to see the Jets take is Vince Young since he's got the most upside of anyone in the draft, and is the first QB in NFL history who can run like a "slash" player while still being one of the top ten pocket passers in the league. Failing that, I don't see what's so bad about keeping Pennington at QB, adding Bush in the backfield and competing next year. When he's healthy, he's still one of the better QBs in the league and he knows how to lead; he was a missed FG away from the AFC Championship two years ago. From 2002-2004, he played 41 out of 51 games including every playoff game, I really don't think he's as "injury prone" as everyone thinks he is.
  4. I only watched the main event, but here's what I thought: Positives: The actual match- Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio had something really good brewing and I'd love to see a real singles match between the two. I knew it wasn't going to a real finish, but the ringwork was good enough to keep me involved anyway. The table spot was kinda cool. You don't usually see a big guy do a highspot like that. They kept Kurt Angle strong. In kayfabe world, Rey shouldn't be able to beat Kurt clean and he didn't. Now if they give Angle the belt back around Summerslam, he can still be a dominant champion. Negatives: MARK HENRY? MARK FUCKING HENRY? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Here's a guy whose only PPV main event in his lifetime was when Kurt Angle beat him clean about three months ago. You can't get heat for an Angle/Henry match; you just can't. I figured JBL would interrupt some way, and at least he's over and he's been a champion, but Mark Henry? No one will care about this man ever.
  5. This was actually one of the few "Office" episodes I didn't like. The Dwight stuff was too far over the top and Michael just wasn't on tonight. Also, that "jinx" thing with Jim and Pam was more obnoxious that cute; I didn't like that subplot at all.
  6. I like to gorge myself when it comes to breakfast. I love eggs of every type, bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, french toast, and waffles. I can't stand cereal or oatmeal though. You might as well shove soggy crackers down your throat.
  7. I thought the Benoit match was dull. I thought it was pretty transparent ahead of time that Benoit was winning, although I wasn't being optimistic, I was being pessimistic. I was hoping that HBK would win followed by HHH. I've never really liked Benoit as a face. As for the best 5 minutes of a match, I'd go with the end of the HBK/HHH match at Summerslam 2002. For an angle, it would have to be the ECW reunion. And finally, if you were a horny 15 year old at the time, the segment where Vince had Trish strip down and bark like a dog was good too.
  8. To be fair, I never really cared that UTSU got banned in the first place. It was just that upon reading his last 20 posts, I noticed that he got banned for being an HBK mark, and as a fellow HBK mark, I felt like I should defend him. Also, I was bored and had nothing better to post about.
  9. Oh sorry. Should have looked at the sig for the Lakers logo. I'm not used to people quoting posts unless they're trying to argue.
  10. I would bet my testicles against $100 that the Lakers don't lose in 5. There's just no way. They played badly in Game 1 and almost won in Phoenix with Kobe scoring 22, and then won Game 2 in Phoenix despite Kobe only scoring 29. There's no way in hell that they lose two games in the Forum.
  11. I think the reason that Kobe's a legitimate candidate for MVP is that his team's gotten so much better throughout the year. They finished the season 11-3, and at this point of the season the Lakers are a better team than the Suns. Kobe is doing what everyone said that he couldn't and he's actually making his teammates better. When you combine that with the increased scoring, Kobe's improved enough this year that you have to count him ahead of Nash even if Nash improved this year too. Take Nash off of the Suns and take Kobe off the Lakers and the Suns might sweep the series. Their cutters won't get as open, but they'll still have guys that can hit the three, Marion will still score, (he averaged over 19.0 PPG the three years before Nash got there) and their offense will still work. Take Kobe off of the Lakers and the Suns will completely shut down their post players, because Vujacic will be the most consistent perimeter scorer they have. The reason that the Lakers have the ability to beat the Suns in this series is because Kobe > Nash. On the other hand, if you do want to go with a successful team than you have to take Dirk. The difference between Phoenix and Dallas is worlds greater than the difference between Phoenix and LA, not because of the number of regular season wins, but because Dallas has the ability to win a championship. They look like the most dangerous team in the West right now and Dirk's the only one on that roster that's even a star, let alone a superstar. The way I see it Dirk and Kobe are pretty much 1 and 1A as far as who deserves the MVP this year, with Nash and LeBron being far behind in third and fourth respectively.
  12. Except that Umaga, Cena and Carlito actually exist, unlike your "friends". A chop fest with air isn't that strenuous. That's kind of low even if you are joking around. Just because I'm a 30 year old virgin who still lives with his parents, constantly posts about anime on a wrestling messageboard, says that he lost his virginity to a leg curl machine, and displays a complete lack of social skills doesn't mean I don't have friends. Edited for accuracy. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but there's a little bit more to this than you "not having a girlfriend". I'm not 100% sure you still live with your parents, but I think I remember reading that somewhere too.
  13. OLN and Dish Network finally made a deal on Monday, so I get to see hockey now! Thank god! Game 3 of the Sens/Lightning series was a great way to start as the Sens absolutely dominated Tampa Bay. They scored 8 goals and would have been up 5-0 going into the third period if not for a goal scored on a cheap 2-man advantage. There were plenty of fights whenever things started to drag too which is always fun, but the important thing is how solid Ottawa looked all-around. I really think they could win the Cup this year.
  14. Wow and here I thought the fans were insulted by being subjected to that awful angle for a year and half. I mean seriously, it's not hard to find things problems with the WWE creative staff, but lack of commitment to RTC was never one of them.
  15. Actually I think it's speculation that's supposed to be speculation. If he was trying to make it look like a fact, he wouldn't have added the probably in.
  16. I'm pretty sure that you're just an easy target because you have "admin" in your name and a lot of the members on here fuck with somebody just to fuck with someone. I think hardly anyone honestly dislikes you or actually thinks you are a computer. It's just a cheap and easy joke. That's a neat story about the pyro by the way. As someone who's heyday of wrestling fandom was 1998-2002, I have to say you're really not missing much. People tune into Raw to see how much Cena will get booed but that's about it as far as the entertainment goes.
  17. I loved that. I started laughed hysterically as soon as he punched her, and I'd definitely consider it the highlight of the episode.
  18. This show just keeps getting better. The last episode was awesome. We went from an easy conclusion, (Jack gets the recording from Henderson), to something much better (Jack hijacks a plane to get the tape from a mystery passenger working for a shadowy group that's somehow connected to Logan). Also, I love it when Jacks spreads out from the group, and does something just absolutely crazy to save the day. This episode was good too though. Audrey/Henderson and CTU finding out about the president's involvement were really good subplots, as is the First Lady finding out about the president's involvement. I didn't like this season for a while, when they were doing the corny power struggle with Lyn McGill and then the turnover ot Karen Hays, but it's gotten way better. Excellent show.
  19. Yes please do. It doesn't really help to say "spoiler" in the sub-title if you already give away what you're spoiling in the heading. I hope to god that the US title or Tag titles or something change hands on the undercard because I was really looking forward to the Angle/Rey match and the last thing I wanted was to know ahead of time who wins. Even if somebody spoiled Rey retaining, I wouldn't really care, but a surprise WWE title win for Angle adds about three stars of enjoyment to a match for me, and I'd really hate missing out on that.
  20. I can't believe I missed this one when I made my initial list. When Skip Bayless can rip your plot to shreds, you know you have a pretty weak movie. The dual mistakes of: 1) starting the movie with her winning a match on the undercard of a title fight, even though she apparently has no idea how to box and 2) having her lose the fight where a late blow knocks her into a stool would be bothersome in a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, let alone an Oscar winner. Also, Hillary Swank couldn't have done that great a job of acting because I never really connected with her character. When they had the hospital scenes, you got the "gross" feeling you'd get watching CSI or something, but I never really felt sad for her character.
  21. If you're going to fuck with somebody, then don't fuck with the people that are trying to help people with their drug experiences. Them's good people. Go for a board on American Idol or anime or something gay like that.
  22. We should just combine it. It's all the same contest after all. Besides, who really wants to win half of a five-person contest?
  23. I watched the fight today, and it was a massacre, but the reason it was a massacre is that Byrd fights like he has cement blocks on his feet. Seriously, he just stood there and let Klitschko land massive shot to the face after massive shot to the face. I still don't have much confidence in Klitschko as a long-term dominant champion. The only other fight I've seen in him in was the Corrie Sanders fight, and I don't think he's very good against an active, mobile boxer. He's got all the power in the world and if you let him tee off, he will knock you out, but I haven't seen anything to change the impression that he's not that great of a boxer. Vitali was much more talented.
  24. I'm so excited to watch the Senators in the playoffs this year. Oh wait..... that's right, even the playoffs games aren't televised here. This is fucking bullshit. I've got a satellite dish with hundreds of channels and the only playoff games that will be on at all will be the Avalance and Stars or some stupid series like that that I could give a fuck less about. I can probably get the last half hour or so on Sunshine once the blackout's lifted, but just the fact that the availability's that limited is gay as hell. Seriously, fuck the NHL, fuck OLN, and fuck their gay TV deal.
  25. Oh come on. It couldn't be more obvious that this is a joke. Do you really think that after a week's worth of decent ratings, they'd start a whole new show? And that Tiffani Theisen would agree to be on it? I don't even think you're supposed to take this seriously.
