  1. They won't let Ron Killings sit at the front of the bus?
  2. Cena's awesome. Last night's show at the Garden confirmed that. No lie, MVP not getting his entrance almost killed the show for me
  3. Hooray for Skinwalkers!!! After Dark Films woefully underestimated its box office take. It actually grossed $753,520 giving it a per screen average of..... $1,011! Hot Rod was originally designed as a Will Ferrell vehicle, but the studio decided not to go ahead with it. He stayed on as producer, the Lonely Island guys got a hold of the script and the rest is history
  4. For the record, I agree that Hermione getting that line was something I would not have done, and Ron should've been allowed to say it in the movie. There is the scene in POA where she freaks out in Divinations, and the movie does touch on her stressfulness. Plus, when she punches Malfoy he had called her a mudblood and she had just witnessed Buckbeak's death, so she was on edge. Hermione punching Malfoy might be the best moment ever
  5. SNME was decent live. The Smackdown! tag match had Finlay and Hornswoggle and seeing Khali live was awesome. The intros to the boxing match were funny stuff, but then it dragged. Holyfield got an insane pop. Orton RKOing Cena was insane- crowd was whipped into a frenzy at that point. The ECW tag was fun if only because we had a bunch of people in our section doing ROH chants like Man Up and You're Gonna Get Your Fuckin Head Kicked In. Austin showing up at the end blew the roof off the place and had everyone marking out- awesome stuff
  6. I was at the show tonight. Don't know how it came off on TV, but except for no HHH it was a really fun show. Loved the main event. RAW Idol was tremendous
  7. Devil and Daniel Webster had a tortured history. The film was seized in a federal investigation and was in limbo for years. The Yari Film Group (which specialises in buying up indie movies with recogniseable names) picked up the movie and totally recut it. Baldwin disowned their cut of the movie and a pseudonym was used. He even urged people to "boycott" the movie. The film was released in Fort Myers, Rochester, Las Vegas, Columbus and somewhere in California. It had mostly negative reviews and as I said, Yari Film Group did not track its box office. Slow Burn was filmed in 2003. It didn't even have a premiere until it was shown at the Toronto Film Festival. It was shown all over the world before the US picked it up. It looked intriguing, as I like those kind of movies, and Ray Liotta constantly yelling FIVE AM WHAT'S GOING DOWN made me laugh
  8. It wasn't tracked by boxofficemojo which leads me to believe that Shortcut to Happiness (Alec Baldwin movie that he took his name off of and was delayed for 5 years) also didn't reach $1,000.
  9. Slow Burn opened on 1,163 screens. The Abandoned opened on 1,000 screens. DOA was on 500 screens. Skinwalkers was on 800 screens. Everything else was sub-500. GI Jesus (pronounced Hay-Soos)- A Mexican national, Jesus Feliciano, returning to California from Iraq where he had soldiered in exchange for grant of US citizenship, suffers trauma related to his battle experience and imagines his family life threatened.
  10. It would be obvious it was him even if he was wearing a mask.
  11. Floyd, you're a horror guy- What's the deal with that Snoop Dogg movie?
  12. Ebert still reviews movies at rogerebert.com, but right now he can't talk.
  13. Are you high? They made Samoa Joe look like a complete moron and did a "swerve" that everyone could see coming a mile away. People aren't pissed off just b/c Joe lost, it's because he looked awful in losing and it was the latest screwjob in a series of them.
  14. They didn't show Martin Prado's RBI double because they were showing Hank Aaron's speech for the 1,000th time. That really pissed me off
  15. Also, from what I can tell, Snoop Dogg's House of Horrors had the lowest per screen average at $221.
  16. 2007 movies to open with a PSA of less then $1,000: (Most of these movies I haven't heard of) Gyspy Caravan (a doc about Gyspys I assume) GI Jesus Funny Money (This movie starred Chevy Chase! Poor Chevy) Constellation (From Star Wars to this. What happened Billy Dee Williams) Fired (A doc about getting fired, directed by the girl on Dinner and a Movie) Raising Flagg (A comedy with Alan Arkin and Lauren Holly) The Last Sin Eater (Christian movie) Notes on Marie Menken (A documentary) The Abandoned (I remember seeing ads for this one) Full Of It (I saw the trailer for this one- some kid's lies all come true) Tortilla Heaven Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (a horror mockumentary. This was actually supposed to be pretty good) Hat Trick (foreign movie) Nomad: The Warrior What Love Is (a rom com starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Matthew Lillard put out by a scam production company. Can Cuba give back his Oscar now) The Marsh (A Canadian horror film) Greg and Gentillion (Another Canadian movie) Slow Burn (Usual Suspects rip-off with Ray Liotta. 5 am what's going down) The Tripper (a horror movie directed by and starring former WCW champion David Arquette) Wind Chill Something to Cheer About (basketball doc) The Dog Problem (directed by James Caan's son!) The Flying Scotsman Civic Duty (post 9/11 guy becomes paranoid his neighbour is a terrorist. This movie actually looked really good) Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror The Other Conquest Disappearances The Salon (It's like Beauty Shop...but with Vivica A. Fox) Blind Dating The Hip Hop Project (this was produced by Bruce Willis and Queen Latifah) Casting About Allegro (foreign film) Hollywood Dreams (I saw a trailer for this film when I saw Stephanie Daley) Steel City Rise: Blood Hunter (A vampire movie with Lucy Liu, Michael Chilkis and Carla Gugino. Saw the trailer for this one) Pierrepoint- The Last Hangman Four Lane Highway DOA: Dead or Alive (I saw this movie!) Macbeth The Trials of Darryl Hunt (I saw this movie too!) Beyond Hatred (A gay/lesbo doc) Falling (foreign flick) Dynamite Warrior (Asian action) El Immigrante (Spanish doc) The Suguar Curtain (foreign) and Skinwalkwers. So....has anyone seen any of those movies?
  17. I'll be going to RAW tonight- I'm excited, because they're taping SNME. Hope it's a great show
  18. It was released in 505 theatres with no TV campaign or critics screenings from the Weinstein Co. In week 2 it dropped to 98 screens, which is unheard of, since theatres are usually contracted to keep a movie for two weeks. DOA was bad, but it was a so bad it was fun kind of movie. Plus, the girl from Shark v. other girl fight was actually pretty good. And Jaime Pressly v. Kevin Nash was awesome. It's on YouTube here: (the whole movie) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8565490499014996597 I saw it in theatres, because I wanted to see how bad it was and see if anyone else was in the theatre. Plus claiming I saw a movie with a PSA of $516 is something to brag about.
  19. It looked like one of those movies that they greenlit when horror movies were all the rage, and then when release date came and every horror movie tanked, they realised: ....shit and just decided to fulfill contractual obligations and dump it in theatres. Slowburn (another LGF movie) opened on 1,000 screens and could only muster a $669 PSA. And yes, DOA did get put in theatres. Sara Carter has the dubious distinction of being in both Skinwalkers and DOA. Looked up on wikipedia: Skinwalkers was a Canadian movie that was just distributed by LG and After Dark
  20. Far from it. Other movies have had more embarassing openings (DOA had a $516 PSA) and there have been movies that have lost a ton of money (Next and Evan Almighty come to mind)
  21. I'm surprised Hot Rod bombed as bad it did, but not suprised that it didn't do well. I think people like Samberg and the Digital Shorts, but enough to pay $10 to see a full length digital short? No thanks
  22. It's Maya's decision whether she wants to come back since Lorne will never fire anyone unless he's forced by the network or it's Rob Riggle. Not sure whether she has made that decision yet, though she came close to leaving last year as well
  23. This just looks stupid. Can't get into it. The fact that it was pushed back to January is not a great sign
  24. I guess that ticking noise was actually his heart
