  1. The 6-man wasn't 'great'. It was a fun match with really good comedy. Edge's selling of Benoit's chops was gold. I loved being apart of the hot crowd last night- they were on fire for everything and it created a fun atmosphere. Batista got a MASSIVE pop when he came out

Announcer: This Tuesday at nine, it's "The Bob Waltman Special". A rare look into the private world of some of the country's biggest celebrities. [ dissolve to file photo of Leona Helmesley accompanied by Bob Waltman voiceover ] Bob Waltman V/O: Billionairess Leona Helmesley. The self-annointed queen of the Helmesley hotel empire. She lived a life of opulence.. but, now, she faces charges of tax fraud that could put her behind bars for four years. [ dissolve to Bob Waltman chatting with Leona Helmesley ] Bob Waltman: You.. you've been called everything from the.. Wicked Witch of the West, to.. Tough Bitch. How does that make you feel. Leona Helmseley: [ sternly ] I'm an executive. I'm a woman. I'm tough. So they call me a bitch. Bob Waltman: Even with a new appeal, the likelihood of spending several years in a small prison cell, away from your lvoed ones.. that's gotta hurt. Leona Helmseley: It hurts. It, uh.. it's unfair. [ brief sniff ] Bob Waltman: No longer able to enjoy the luxuries that you worked so hard for, and deserve. Leona Helmseley: It's unfair, you know? It's, uh.. [ another sniff ] Oh, come on here, wait a minute, you're not gonna make me cry! I know that happens to a lot of your guests, but, uh.. after all, I do have to live up to my reputation. [ sniffs ] Bob Waltman: Oh, no, no.. that's all right. Everyone's allowed to have emotions. Especially victims. Now.. as a child, you were abandoned by your parents? Leona Helmseley: [ extended pause ] Yes. [ sniffs ] Bob Waltman: And I understand that recently, you had to fly.. coach? Leona Helmseley: [ breaks down into tears ] Bob Waltman: And now they're taking it all away from you. How does that make you feel? Marion Barry: Ve-ry unfortunate. But that's behind me now, and I'm looking forward to clearing up my name and getting re-elected. Bob Waltman: Yet, because of the harrassment and.. entrapment.. everything you've worked for is gone. Your career.. your family.. your reputation - all gone. And you can never get that back. Marion Barry: [ with regret ] Yeah.. I-I guess, uh.. sometimes things just ha-happen. Uh.. I'm sorry, I don't mean to- [ tries to hold back his tears ] Bob Waltman: No, no, no,no.. that's all right. [ continues the interview ] Your future looks bleak.. your personal problems are mounting.. ever ask yourself "Why?" Marion Barry: [ sniffs several times, then holds his hand to his nose for a giant snort ] Well, I-I-I, uh.. I-I think the biggest tragedy is that I let my family down.. 3. I find it funny that nikjohns calls someone a moron and then screws up typing on his keyboard. Or that everyone who called Dames out has seemed to back off since he responded. Good times
  4. HBK only mentioned Canada last week because he was getting heckled. HBK only mentioned Canada this week because he was in Canada

To me carrying the show means being the centrepiece, being what the show was marketed around and until 94-95 it was really Myers and Hartman with Sandler and Farley doing their goofy bits in between. Spade was also part of this. Phil Hartman left after 1993-1994 and the show added some new blood and relied on Farley and Sandler to carry the show along with Myers and I guess Spade. It failed dismally- the show was almost cancelled, the Saturday Night Dead moniker was brought back up and people questioned whether Lorne lost his touch. Most of the episodes are horrible and very painful to watch. So bad that Lorne had to do another cast overhaul and had to let Farley and Sandler go. And luckily he got an awesome new cast and the show returned to prominence again

Comedy is subjective but when people say Farley and Sandler carried the show- that's inaccurate. Since they didn't. Unless you want to count 94-95 which is generally regarded as one of SNL's worst years by everyone and is the standard bearer for SNL crap. That's a fact. Or that Dennis Miller is overrated. If the guy never gets any credit for SNL- then he's not overrated. I know a lot of people don't like Jimmy and I've defended him constantly? Are they wrong? No but I'm giving them my stance and explaining why I and a lot of SNL fans found Jimmy to be a good guy. Saying he laughs in every skit is inaccurate and just generalising. It's Macdonald first of all. Not hard to remember the 'a'. I wouldn't say the masses think Norm sucks. He was very popular on the show and his firing produced massive outrage from both fans and critics to the point that Colin Quinn was never able to establish himself as anchor because of it. His show 'Norm' was a top 20-top 30 show its first year and did pretty good ratings its second year despite a poor timeslot and an incompatible timeslot. It bombed in year 3- but that was because ABC was dumb enough to run it on Fridays. I knew that was it for Norm then. Wow calling me a fruit- as usual I'm wrong and Banky's right. I never said Sandler and Farley weren't terrific on SNL. But did they carry the show? No. They never did- except for the year where SNL died a slow and very painful death. Sandler and Farley were both very funny on SNL and deserve lots of credit for carving out nice careers for themselves post SNL. Are they all time greats? I don't think so. Did they ever carry the show? I'm going to say no.

I'd rather argue over the merits of logically what makes someone a drummer then wrapping it up like that

Jingus- Did you watch WU on Saturday? I really hope you didn't like that. I know comedy is subjective etc but there are some opinions I have trouble accepting. And Fey/Poehler being > then any other WU anchor not named Charles Rocket or Gail Mattitus is one of them. And this is coming from someone who was once a HUGE Tina fan and used to love Amy too. The fact that Tina is ripping off the Daily Show is quite sad. The drumming thing wasn't directed at you- more at Metal Maniac. We've established she can play instruments and write songs so I think she counts as a musician.
  15. Any Canucks know how much t-shirts are at RAW?

Without Dennis Miller- WU wouldn't be as important as it is today and the world would never have heard of Norm Macdonald. Miller was the one who discovered Norm and helped him get on SNL. Miller's a very important part of SNL history and yet he is overlooked which is quite sad. And about Avril being a drummer- who cares? She does play the piano and the guitar so she is a musician. And she has written about 15 songs
  17. Well Nick Dinsmore just had knee surgery
  18. I'm excited. Not only do I get to see Benoit v. Jericho but I also get to see KANE V. SNITSKY!~ I'm hoping they have the new Regal shirt on sale as well
  19. Next season, assuming he stays on, he'll be a cast member
  20. Why? So he can take a payoff from wrestlers who actually work a full schedule and don't quit the minute they might possibly be in the midcard? They can complain when they've drawn as much money as Hogan. Hogan may have drawn money then, but he doesn't really draw money now
  21. Well considering he got suspended from WWE folder- it's obvious more people agree with me. :-) Rock putting over JBL would make me really sad and upset. It just would be so wrong on so many levels
  22. I know they're not important- I just want to see better movies get their due
  23. Bullshit- Million Dollar Baby and Closer were better movies
  24. I didn't see Sideways but I really wanted Eternal Sunshine to win. I'm glad Ray didn't win.
  25. Her husband was on Without a Trace this season- he was really good too
