  1. Link HBO is preparing a eulogy for "Six Feet Under." The pay cabler confirmed Friday that the upcoming fifth season of "Six Feet" will be the last for the ensemble drama revolving around the trials and tribulations of a family that runs a mortuary. Series creator/executive producer Alan Ball recently informed HBO executives that he felt the show will have run its creative course by the end of the upcoming 12-episode season. "Working on 'Six Feet Under' has been enormously fulfilling creatively, but if the show is about anything, it's about the fact that everything comes to an end," Ball said in a statement. "I will miss working with such enormously talented writers, cast, staff and crew and I'll always be grateful to HBO for allowing and encouraging us to tell the story we set out to tell in a challenging and uncompromising way." "Six Feet" has been a critical darling for HBO, if not a commercial hit on the scale of "The Sopranos" or "Sex and the City," since its 2001 debut. The drama -- whose ensemble cast includes Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Rachel Griffiths , Lauren Ambrose and Frances Conroy -- has been showered with Emmy nominations -- it earned 16 Emmy bids in 2002, its first year of eligibility, and 23 noms in 2003 -- but has yet to claim the top drama series prize in the annual Emmy derby. "Six Feet" is a project that has been particularly close to the heart of Carolyn Strauss, HBO entertainment president, who originally dreamed up the notion of doing a series set in a mortuary. She pitched the idea to Ball, who was then hot off the success of his Oscar-winning screenplay for "American Beauty," and the writer-producer fell for it immediately. "Dealing with death seemed like a very common experience that we could all relate to, and (the mortuary setting) seemed like a great lens for a fairly ironic show," Strauss said. "It also seemed like the kind of show that only (HBO) could do." Strauss was quick to praise Ball and the rest of the "Six Feet" crew for "all the impressive work. It's been a fantastic experience to be associated with this show," she said. Production on "Six Feet's" fifth season is set to begin Nov. 16, but a premiere date has not yet been set, Strauss said. Word of "Six Feet's" swan song season comes at a time when HBO is already in a transitional phase after bidding farewell to "Sex and the City" this year, while its other original series tentpole, "The Sopranos," isn't due back for its final season until 2006. HBO has the sophomore season of its wild Western "Deadwood" on tap to premiere in January, followed in March by the return of Depression-era drama "Carnivale." Other series in the production pipeline at HBO are "Big Love," starring Bill Pullman as a modern-day polygamist in Utah, and the big-budget costume drama "Rome." Reuters/Hollywood Reporter
  2. Really? It wasn't one of my better efforts.
  3. That's..............interesting. Well, at least it isn't a commercial!
  4. Whoo hoo, good for me. A sketchy year of employment and insomnia have allowed me to step up my posting numbers, and I am now at 3000! So in honor of me, post your favorite JAxl moments, or else the exact point when you knew I was destined to become a TSM Hall Of Famer.

  6. Breakfast: Waffles with a side of bacon
  7. Note to self: Do not appear on national television.
  8. On the plus side, I finally got some mucus up, and something that was either blood or bile. What color is bile anyways?
  9. Here's a recap of my night so far.............. COUGH COUGH COUGH <place head over toilet to vomit, nothing comes out> COUGH COUGH COUGH <place head over toilet to vomit, nothing comes out> Lather, rinse, repeat
  10. Man, but it's fuckin Friday. This is definitely going to cut into my drinking time. BTW, I've done a little reading up on my symptoms, and apparently, it is either Strep Throat or Mono.
  11. So is it finally time to go get some antibiotics then?
  12. It's AIDS isn't it? God, finally............... Nah, I mean, what the hell is causing the inside of my throat to scab over? I mean, I can taste it and feel it now, and like I said before, there was definitely something that looked like a clot or a scab I coughed up earlier.
  13. My newest symptom is a little blood when I blow my nose, and what looked like either a scab or a blood clot coming up during a rather painful bout of coughing. But, stubborn ass me will just continue to use my self prescribed NyQuil. Man, having insurance is pretty important, huh?
  14. I'm touched. I'm douched.
  15. It's cheating, and real singers do not need it. How many of these "real singers" do that much dancing and go through similar physical stress during a concert in comparison to "fake" pop stars. I'd rather I went to a concert and heard the best vocals possible. The fake pop star thing just ain't my bag, baby. I could give two shits about some fuckin dance routine. Does it take hard work? Sure, but with the right teachers, I could dance like that too. I mean, these "artists" are artificial enough without now having the vocals be artificial as well. I'd rather hear Axl sing an off key "Night Train" then see him lip synch or sing to a backing vocal. And, truth be told, the guy could've used some help at the VMAs a couple years ago, especially during "Jungle", but at least it was real.

  17. 3PW Saturday November 20, 2004 8PM ECW Arena Philadelphia, PA (Swanson and Ritner Streets-next to Forman Mills) (215) 602-83PW [email protected] [email protected] www.3PWrestling.com http://profiles.myspace.com/users/5146313 STYLES vs. The "FALLEN ANGEL": ROUND 3... 'NUFF SAID (THIS TIME, IT'S FOR THE GOLD!!!!) 3PW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION "Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS defends against the "Phenomenal" AJ STYLES! AJ Styles has done a lot of great things in his career. He has beaten some of the best. He has traveled to several continents to compete. He has appeared on both national TV and Pay-per-view. He has won championships aplenty. But he has never done it in Philly. AJ and Christopher Daniels are no strangers to each other, even before their arrivals in 3PW. When two men are each considered by many to be the best in the world, comparisons are bound to be made, and confrontations are inevitable. At time, AJ has even proven himself to be equal or better than his rival. But he has never done it in Philly. When Styles and Daniels had their first classic 3PW encounter back in May, neither man could come up with a victory. The resulting draw signified that neither was able to get a competitive edge over the other, but the "Fallen Angel" came away with something even more important: a mental edge, as he realized that he survived AJ's toughest offense. In June, Daniels caused Styles to be eliminated from a 3PW Championship match, forcing his focus to be on their upcoming rematch, and on the insecurities that were building up within him. The psychological warfare continued during Styles/Daniels v.2, as the "Fallen Angel" used illegal leverage from the ropes to pin AJ's shoulders to the mat.. Legal or not, the undeniable fact remained: Christopher Daniels found a way to beat AJ Styles. AJ Styles could not find a way to beat Chris Daniels. Chris Daniels may have AJ Styles' number. Since then, Daniels has ridden his positive career momentum to the top, winning a memorable 4-way match to become the new 3PW Heavyweight Champion (a match, incidentally, that Styles also participated in, and was eliminated from partially by Daniels). Undefeated in 3PW, the new champ seems poised to hold on to the belt for a long time...unless his biggest rival has something to say about it. In October, Styles rebounded with a major victory over 2 Cold Scorpio and Chris Sabin to earn another shot at the title, and setting up the most anticipated match in 3PW history. Now, the pressure is all on AJ Styles...can he win the biggest match of his already phenomenal career? Can he win the richest prize in Pro-Pain Pro Wrestling? With the eyes of the world watching, can he finally defeat the man many consider his equal? More importantly, on November 20th, can AJ Styles overcome his toughest challenges yet...his insecurities and fears? For months, the question has been very simple: Can AJ Styles win the big one? Now, on November 20th, can he win the biggest one of all? OLD SCHOOL vs. NEW SCHOOL: JOEY MATTHEWS takes on CHRIS SABIN! Despite his relatively young age, Joey Matthews has long considered himself a seasoned veteran in the sport of pro wrestling. Indeed, since the tender age of 16, the former 3PW Heavyweight Champion has cut his teeth all around the country and beyond. He has competed against the best, he has worked for the best, and most importantly, he has LEARNED from the best Taking a cue from the great minds of yesteryear, Matthews has patterned himself after the best of the older generation: cerebral, fundamentally sound, and cagey. A fantastic athlete, Matthews would rather apply a headlock than hit a moonsault, and, like the bullies he has emulated, makes a point to disrespect those who haven't been in the business as long as he has. Enter Chris Sabin, who knows exactly what it's like to be a young prodigy in this sport because that's exactly what he is. At just 22 years of age, Sabin has blazed a path of success all over North America, and made his way up to 3PW with a great deal of fanfare. An amazing high-flier, Sabin is one of the best of the new breed of wrestler for the new millennium: quick, innovative, and willing to sacrifice his body for the chance to hit a spectacular move. Thus far, Sabin has run with the opportunities given to him early in his 3PW career, proving that he can hang with the likes of AJ Styles, 2 Cold Scorpio, Christopher Daniels, and yes, even Joey Matthews. Now, in his first singles match in the most infamous arena in the world, can Sabin show that he is the real deal, or will Matthews prove that old school (and Joey Matthews) will always reign supreme? WHO IS THE BADDEST MAN IN 3PW?: LOW-KI returns to face SLYCK WAGNER BROWN! Controversy sells. Controversy draws attention. Controversy makes headlines...and on November 20th, two of the most controversial superstars in Pro-Pain Pro will collide in what will surely be a hard-hitting, intense battle for the ages. LOW-KI is no stranger to controversy. Once a man of reputable honor, he has changed his tune since making a name for himself as one of the most sought-after talents in the U.S. Gone is the sense of loyalty and dedication to companies like 3PW. Instead, Low-Ki comes and goes as he pleases, disappearing for months at a time. He claims to go where the tough competition is, but sources say that money is becoming an equally compelling priority to him, often at the expense of the fans who want to see him focus on 3PW. When he finally returned to Philly earlier in the year, Ki was more pretentious than ever, decrying a 3PW match as "crap", and publically demanding that his match be bumped up to show the people some "real competition". Now, Low-Ki graces us with his presence in 3PW once again, more dangerous than ever, and ready to cement his self-anointed status as the bar against which everyone else is compared to. SLYCK WAGNER BROWN couldn't escape controversy if he tried, and he doesn't seem to give a damn. From a historic yet brief reign reign as Tag Champion, to an unexpected confrontation with 2 COLD SCORPIO, to public arguments with partner APRIL HUNTER, all eyes seem to remain on the "Underground King". Brash, ballsy, and just plain bad, SWB can back up his bravado with power, speed, agility, and toughness. He now has the opportunity to prove that he is the new resident badass on the block, but can he take out the hard-hitting superstar? For the 3PW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS: PITBULLS 2004 ("Pitbull" GARY WOLF & "Shooter" MIKE KRUEL) meet DAMIAN ADAMS and MONSTA MACK! At our last event, history was made, as Jasmin St. Claire's "PITBULLS 2004" upended Slyck Wagner Brown and April Hunter to win the 3PW Tag Team Championships. That match was not without its controversy, as the personal issues between Jasmin and Special Referee TALIA resulted in yet another physical incident, one that saw Talia get knocked out. Commissioner TOD GORDON, watching intently at ringside, was forced to get in the ring and make the 3-count in order to end the match and save his girlfriend from further harm, but is reportedly very upset that his actions gave his former woman, and current enemy, the championship glory that she has always sought. Now, the intimidating new champs are set to defend their titles for the very first time, and look to prove that their title reign is only just beginning. Certainly, the veteran, Gary Wolfe, and the "Shooter" Mike Kruel, seem primed to dominate 3PW for a long, long time, just like the original PITBULLS did in the very same building. Unfortunately for Jasmin and her boys, however, they will face the brand new team of Damian Adams and Monsta Mack, two men who share some very basic qualities. Both have a great deal of talent (despite Mack's apparent clumsiness). Both have huge egos. Most of all, both have made it very clear that they feel unjustly disrespected by the 3PW fans in Philly, and use that bitterness as motivation to prove them wrong. Of course, Mack is also a veteran of the former hardest-hitting team in wrestling, and Adams is on somewhat of a hot streak, coming off of a big win over Striker. Together, these two could do some serious damage, but can they tame the PITBULLS 2004? Also scheduled to appear: CJ O’Doyle, Striker, Eckos, Double Trouble, The Blue Meanie, N8 Mattson and more!!! ****Card Subject To Change**** Tickets are available RIGHT NOW at: Noise Pollution 619 S. 4th St. (4th & South St.) Philadelphia, PA (215) 627 - 7246 Hall of Heroes Cherry Hill Mall Cherry Hill, NJ (856) 662 – 9329 Tony Luke’s Old Philly Style Sandwiches 39 E. 18. Word fucking up. Mickey Rourke is just awesome in EVERYTHING he's ever been in. He may not always pick the best movies (Double Team immediately springs to mind), but he always picks parts that challenge him. Mickey in Barfly is seriously one of my favorite performances ever. Cannot wait for Sin City, Mickey is going to be great as Marv. Ever see Rourke in Bullet? Now there's an unappreciated flick and performance.
  19. I'd like to lay on her. Nah, no I wouldn't, nevermind.
  20. Give Daniels a push as a heel and a Ravenesque "Flock" stable and there is money to be made.
  21. I find those more actively bad than boring. They're both so awful they're entertaining.
  22. I do believe I will skip this one.
  23. On the plus side, at least Nidia got free implants out of the deal.
  24. I'm not sure of the guy's name, but this rapper had a ongoing skit on his album about going to "Hip Hop College". His white roommate was hysterical. "Yeah, I got Freestyling 101 at 10" etc. etc. etc. EDIT: I've just been informed the guy's name was Masta Ace.
  25. Bring back Raven, Kanyon and Perry Saturn.
