    This week in the NBA

I couldn't finish the thought at the time, I was still mad. But I would have donated money to NBC so that they could get the NBA back. They would not have allowed this to happen, or if they did, they would have put another game up.

I'm with Citrus. The Kings are going 0-30 against the East. And watching that Heat-Celtics game enraged me. No KG, Ray Allen, or D-Wade. This is why the regular season doesn't really mean anything. If they had pulled that shit on ABC...

Yeah, it's not like I'm saying that Lakers won't win another game and miss the playoffs. They've already made the playoffs... That was just a joke, BTW.

This happened to 67-15 Dallas two years ago, where they were totally blitzed by Golden State. The 2000 Lakers were almost eliminated by Sacramento in the first round. Boston almost lost to freakin' Atlanta last year. It's not like I'm saying this to make people angry. I really think this could happen.

I'm not trolling, I mean every word I say. I watch the games. What exactly have I said that would be considered trolling? I back up what I say. I'm not flat out saying the Lakers stink, I'm giving reasons why. I could go after other teams, if that will make people feel better. The things I have to say about Lebron James and Los Spurs would probably start a fight, so I usually avoid those unless people really want to hear it. But I've noticed that the NBA threads are usually dead, so I figured I should put my two cents in.

    This week in the NBA

I meant to comment on this Sunday, but the Lakers inability to defend a three point shot will be one of the big reasons that they get bounced from the first round. Jason Terry made them look like fools, but the 76ers made them look like fools AND they won the game. Ariza didn't even know that they had a foul to give, it should have been obvious with them dribbling it down to three seconds that they were going for the win, and the Lakers were rightly burned. And the Lakers' bench sucks, plain and simple. Lou Williams off of Philly's bench scored 18, which matched the "best bench in the NBA." That's after Jason Terry scored about three times the bench points on Sunday (29 to 10). And Dallas could very well be the first round opponent. Yeah, I'm not worried about the impending "upset" now. I'll be surprised if the Lakers win a playoff game now.

Yeesh, I thought I was going to have a worthwhile discussion with a basketball fan, instead, it's just another bandwagon jumper from a city nowhere near Los Angeles. I gave the Lakers credit. Do NOT piss off Kobe Byrant. Rockets had that game won until Artest opened his mouth and got brave. After which he was immediately humbled. And I was asked to name first-round teams that could beat the Lakers. New Orleans and Utah would clearly be second round teams at this point. And New Orleans can beat the Lakers in L.A. And last year's playoffs do mean something, since the Lakers are pretty much coming back with the exact same team. Powell is an upgrade over Turiaf, and they dumped the dead weight and have a healthy Ariza, but it's more or less the same. The Spurs play the same style every year with the same core, and they keep winning. BTW, the Ariza foul was not dirty, IMO. Ariza was clearly going for the ball. A flagrant 2 has to involve follow through. Give him a flagrant 1 because it looked bad, but to throw him out for that shit was terrible. I thought Fernandez should have been T-ed up for flopping in midair and nearly killing himself to get Ariza thrown out, because it worked. How come the same foul was not called on "King" James when he owned Richardson? That was clearly a foul.

The Spurs beat the Lakers at their own game in Jan, putting up more than 100 points and getting the foul call on the Fisher bump that they should have gotten last year in the playoffs. The only blowout for them was in LA, and that was because the Spurs big three threw in the towel and did not play in the fourth quarter. They will not do that in a playoff game. As for Houston, the only blowout was back at the start of the season, when McStreaky went 1 for freaking 11. It's not a surprise they got pounced. Like I said before, the Rockets are WAY better without T-Mac. The Lakers barely won the second meeting, and they should have lost this game. The regular season is mostly useless, except to indicate trends that could easily carry over to the playoffs. The Lakers give up a ton of threes, it's just that teams do not hit a high percentage of them. They let every team score over 100 points, which burned them last year because they lost nearly every playoff game where they allowed that to happen. ANY of the other eight teams in the West can easily bump them off in a first-round matchup, but the likely candidates will either be Portland, Dallas, or Phoenix (though they likely won't get in).

Oh yeah, the Lakers barely beat the Spurs without Manu AND after blowing an 18-point lead. They let Old Man Finley score 25 on them. This shows me what exactly? That they can still blow leads and survive a team that isn't healthy. And as for Houston, they are a far better team without T-Mac, because they can actually play defense and not have Knee-Mac jacking up bad shots all night. But 5-28 for threes? 23 turnovers? Then Artest shows that he really is a moron and provokes Kobe Bryant, who properly put him in his place by sinking a three late after Artest bricked six. Houston could have easily won that game, and their own stupidity cost them. Either of these team can beat the Lakers without a problem if they actually use their heads. You'd think Adelman would have learned his lesson by now. So no, these games showed me nothing to indicate that the Lakers can get out of the first round.

You do realize that the #1 seed does NOT have to win on the road to win a series right? It wasn't until Detroit beat Boston in Boston that the Celtics woke the fuck up and starting playing like champs. And coming back from 24 down in L.A. sealed the title. Sure, the Lakers can win every home game, except that they won't win every home game. And it does not look like they are going to beat another good team on the road this year.

Lakers are dead and buried. They are not even getting out of the first round. I would not normally say that after a blowout loss (it happens), but the Lakers can not beat Portland, Phoenix, or Denver on the road. They are not winning at Houston without Odom, nor will they win at San Antonio. No one can stop the Jazz. How are they going to beat any of these teams four times in a seven-game series. They are not.

    Kizarny released

Wait, how is this news? He hasn't been released yet. As far as I know, March 19 is next Thursday. I mean, they have to bury him on the next few shows so he can back to TNA as damaged goods...

    Vince Fighting Internet Leaks

This is not going to stop the leaks. Killing Dave Meltzer would be a far better way to stop the spoilers. If anything, this shows that McMahon has ZERO trust for any of his employees if he has to prevent them from seeing the product that they are trying to produce. Why doesn't he just make everyone sign an NDA, then promptly fire them when they break it?

    When TNA closes...

The booking will only change when the rating drops. If WWE were to get TNA, only the thin blonds (Taylor, Angelina, Velvet, maybe Cheerleader Melissa to replace Victoria) would make it to the end of the first year. No one else has a shot. As far as Vince would be concerned, they are all like Christian, and will be treated as such until they quit or are fired.
  17. Karc

Christian's Re-debut in WWE has occurred!

That's because she was off TV for several weeks and WWE could make her get work done. Seriously, when has she ever showed a midriff? As for Christian, not surprised that he's on the C show. WWE got him to hurt TNA, period. They have no intention of giving any kind of push beyond the midcard. Speaking of moves done to hurt TNA, where is Gail Kim?

Jericho mobbed by fans, hits woman

You mean this is not an angle already? The lack of security for this one specific wrestler only happens if security are total fools (very possible), or if those two are plants (they were arrested, but not charged, then released). Given Christian Bale's recent rant, this could be a viral, albeit stupid, work. If it is, the media will expose it soon enough, or WWE will expose it on Raw when they brag too soon. If this is true, though, it still helps Jericho with his current angle. The one place he was untouchable was in Canada. Now he's not.

Christians Beat Special Ed team 100-0

Which is why I believe the administration should be fired. They are a bunch of hypocrites to hire a coach with the expectation to win games, then turn around and fire him because he's happy his team won a game in a dominating fashion. And he said he disagreed with the school, not the school was lying. It was his own opinion, and rather than the school just leaving it at that, they axe him and make it worse. And he doesn't make the schedule, so it isn't like he wanted to play this game to begin with or get out of it if he tried. He probably would have been fired if he threw in the towel at 50-0. He was fired by a bunch of self-rightous pricks who suddenly feel "sorry" about humiliating a school because they got called out on it, and that disgusts me.

Christians Beat Special Ed team 100-0

The winning coach getting fired is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. These are schools, and there is a lesson to be learned here. If your team sucks so bad that you cannot score a point and the other team can score 100, don't play the game. Or hire someone who can actually teach basketball. This kind of shit doesn't fly in the real world, where you actually have to be accountable for your skill, and no one is going to hold your hand when someone comes along and is literally 100 times better than you.. The admins of the schools involved are the ones that need to be let go, because they let this happen to students (given their history of losing badly), then sit back on their thrones feeling sorry that this happened, then fire the coach for doing his job. Seems to me that this was done solely to keep the story on ESPN. Total BS.

    WWE SmackDown - January 16, 2009

I really do not think that Victoria is "retiring" as opposed do just doing a job before she ends up on the chopping block too. WWE hasn't exactly been gracious in choosing who they let go. But I am sticking to my stance in the original retirement thread. If she really is gone, I am done with WWE.
  22. I guess I'm an idiot, then. It's just good business to create an environment that constantly sends "entertainers" to a grave before their 45, then exploit their deaths to make a ton of money. I'll always be working for the man instead of being the man until I'm willing to literally bury my talent and then dance on their graves, or at least have everyone think that my star is dead to hype up sales. Hey, it worked for The Dark Knight, and Jeff Hardy kinda looks like the Joker with all of that face paint. I need to get with the program and accept that sometimes, people can make up bogus stories about serious issues because it gets attention. But again, I'm just an idiot. It's not like I know anything. I'm done with this story and this thread.
  23. Besides all those wrestlers dying. Yeah, it's a shame that Vince McMahon and Paul Bearer are no longer with us. Their deaths were reported on WWE.com, then taken down before an investor could sue them. And I'm more annoyed that this story exists, not that I didn't come up with it. Anyone with a sleazy mind could come up with this, then someone with some actual sense would have said "the hell's the matter with you?"
  24. I didn't say the WWE mentioned Koslov. I said that WWE didn't mention why Hardy was unconscious. The implication is that is was drugs, given Hardy's past. But it could have been Koslov, Triple H, tripping on lint at the top of the stairs, or a bunch of other examples. This was done to piss off the internet, and it's stupid, because five minutes later, we knew it was fake.
  25. This needs to be addressed at the next conference call. Seriously, who the fuck does WWE think they are? It's bad enough that their "wellness" policy is further exposed on a weekly basis, but now they are willing to tease it as a storyline angle to fool the internet into buying a PPV. The only reason people are all over the story is because Hardy has two strikes against him. I mean, for all we know, he could have been jumped by Koslov. WWE never mentioned how or why Hardy was unconscious. But it's Jeff Hardy, a month after he was not allowed on a plane because he was drunk and eight months after getting suspended for drugs. So it has to be drugs, right? Any legitimate investor would be screaming for what really happened and why is this guy still employed. Like I have said for years, if it's on WWE.com, it's a work. They've just done a better job with it this time.
