    Scott Weilland arrested

Slash trying to cover for Scott. I know, I mean I think the arresting officer would be in a better position to judge Weilland's sobriety. Well, actually I don't know about officiers ability to judge that. My buddy spent two nights in jail about two months ago for alledgedly driving under the influence when he hadn't had a single drink the entire day.

    Manny Ramirez

You and me both. Abreu is one of my pet peeves with the Phillies in that I really don't feel like he lives up to his potential. I think that Vlad doesn't want to go to NY because of the size of the city, not necessarily the pressures that go along with playing there. So, I could see him having interest in Boston as it's a lot smaller and more of a towny feel than NY.

Possible REALLY bad news for the Dems

Yes it is wrong. But how about if I'm routing for it because I genuinely think it would help in the long run. That has to be okay, doesn't it???

Possible REALLY bad news for the Dems

Is it wrong for me to hope for economic downturn. I think that a year long recession would be worth it to get Bush out of office.

    Official College Football thread

Everyone in this thread seems to have missed the big news that The University of Delaware Fighting Blue Hens beat a 1A school and are now ranked #2 in the country. Realizes that no one cares, but I still have to support the School.

    Anyone play poker?

i'm a big Texas Hold em fan myself. Usually make it out to Atlantic City every couple of months to jump into games. It's very fast paced in a casino, and I think less fun then playing with friends, but if you know strategy, you can win often. And to the guy who said he's like an accordian, I think that makes you a much better player, as long as you stay in for the right hands. I only play 10-15% of hands, it where the percentages are.

    Scott Weilland arrested

well, to quote the Sports Guy, "Where do I cash in my stock that Scott Weiland will get arrested for drug possesion before the end of the year."

People or things in sports that make you feel old

Ken Griffey Jr. makes me feel old. I remember him being an energetic kid on the field always wearing a smile. Now he seems like a bitter guy and that transformation makes me feel like I'm old. The only highlights of his for the past three years I can remember are the times he rounds third and tears something.

    Quick FF question....

Thanks for the advice. The rest of my team is good, so I think that it's gonna be BJ. I've managed to royally mess up the weeks where I've played each one to date, so i think that I'll just stick it out with Brad.

I've got Brad Johnson & Kerry Collins at QB. Who would you start this week. BJ goes against NO & KC goes against the Jets. Thanks in advance for your help.

Who is The Most complete player in the NBA

I don't know about most complete, I'd have to watch a lot of tape of guys on D to see who really holds up, although I've always felt KG was a bit soft. But, If I could have any NBA player to start a team around it would be Duncan. I really don't think that the Spurs w/out Duncan were better than the Wolves w/out KG. And we all know the end results of last year.
  13. That was honestly the most dead I've ever heard a crowd during a match/promo that is supposed to be a main focus. It seemed that the crowd was booing and grumbling over the fact that Shane was announcing a match for himself at SS. I've never heard a crowd not pop for a stipulation match when it's announced, but that match took the entire wind out of the crowd's sails.

Give me your "I was there" list...

This is a fun thread....I'll add on..... I was there when.... - The Sixers beat the Bucks to make the finals - Blackout of 2003 (Toronto version) - A minor league baseball catcher switched the ball with a potato and threw the potato over the 3rd baseman's head, only to tag the runner coming home out with the real ball. - First game at Lincoln Financial Field. - Last game at the Vet (Phillies). - Guns N Roses no showed/riot ensued in Philly. - 1995 Sugar Bowl (rematch of FSU & Florida).

    Zimmer says he's done

Does anyone know what Zimmer actually does anyway? Besides take up bench room.

    The Ring

I only saw the American version, and thought it was good for what it was. As far as subtitled movies go, I think that some are good enough to the point that you don't even notice anymore. Life is Beautiful comes to mind off the top of my head. By the end I didn't even realize that I was reading the story, I was that engrossed in it.

Forget Boston, Chicago Has The Curse Instead

I've always hated this as well. Shit happens. Both the tuck rule and the foul ball undoubtably hurt the Raiders and the Cubs, but they're not the only reason they lost those games. If you can't get over a bad play, you don't deserve to win anyways. I think the foul ball is even worse. All Prior had to do was get another strike, but he didn't. He walked the guy. All Baker had to do was get off his ass and go calm his team down, but he didn't. He sat there and did nothing. Even when it was clear to most everyone that Prior was starting to lose it (look at the two pitches he served up on a plate to Pudge) Baker just sat there letting the fan get to him. All Gonzoles had to do was field a simple ground ball that likely would have been a double play and they're out of the inning. But he booted it. I'm sick of the Cubs crying about a fan costing them the game. They need to toughen up and not let it cost them the penate. It's like they were looking for an excuse to lose.

What were some concert events you attended

That was going to be mine as well. I got a little liquored up before hand and ended up breaking a bone in my hand punching out ceiling tiles. It was one of the most disappointing nights of my life. On a more positive concert memory note (kind of), I saw the last Allman Brothers concert that Allen Woody played in. It was about a week before he died and it was just amazing.

Forget Boston, Chicago Has The Curse Instead

I'm really annoyed with this whole situation. Sure, the fan should have been smarter and not interfered, but I think it's natural instinct to try and catch a foul ball anyways. To me, the real problem is the Cubs let it get to them. Prior didn't have to walk the batter then. Baker didn't have to leave Prior in the game for way to long (he was hanging pitches like crazy to Pudge). Gonzoles didn't have to boot the ground ball. If the Cubs shift the blame to a fan's reaction to a foul ball, they have no chance tonight. They need to realize that they control only what happens on the field and go out and take care of business.

    The Hypocrisy

I agree with what he said in the above quote. This entire segment hurt everyone's credibility except for Austin. And Austin seems to be untouchable anyways in the common fan's eyes. The thing that really upset me the most was the fact that the crowd popped for a woman taking the finishing move of a former champ for no real reason at all. Is this what people have come to? Shouldn't the crowd have been upset at this action? In my mind, Jericho is acting like the face in this feud and Austin the heel.

    Better version of Don't Cry

I used to like the Original lyrics and song flow better, but after it was played to death I got more into the alternative lyrics. Estranged owns both versions anyways.

    Sapp blasts NFL 'slave system'

I think that if someone who is white made those comments, they would be suspended. Look at John Rocker. I know that what he said was a lot more offensive to a lot of people, but was it really that different? And MLB suspended him for a ton of games. Sapp is the best at keeping people aware that he's still around even though his game has completely disappeared.

    Fantasy Football Question

I'll agree with the starting of Westbrook. He's been getting more carries every game. But....I'd go with Stallworth this week. Call it a hunch, but I'm sensing a breakout game for him. And I've seen reports that Mason will be playing this week.
