Are you referring to me? I've been collecting Ultimate X-Men since the day the first issue was published, and I haven't regretted it. Good stuff. I'm not surprised about Claremont, though. First off, I must say: I HATE Alan Davis' art. But Claremont just does NOT have it to write the X-Men anymore. I knew this about 5 years or so ago during his LAST run on the book. I remember one of the particular things he did which pissed me off was have most of the X-Men go on vacation – yes, vacation – while at the same time they KNEW that Nightcrawler & Cecilia Reyes were trapped by the Neo (anyone remember them?…..I’ll give Claremont credit – at least he tried to do new villains, rather than just retread Magneto for the billionth time). I remember being insulted by that.

I'd also like to say that, as far as writers on the core X-books goes, Mark Millar & B.M. Bendis have done better work with Ultimate X-Men (though not a core book - I'm just making a comparison) than any of the pre-Morrison writers did for....oh, a good five-year span. The X-books were just bad, bad, BAD for a long time pre-Morrison. And personally, I've been turned off to Whedon so strongly the past couple years that I'm not looking forward to seeing him foray into the comic medium again.

"Stormwatch" under Wright's pen was a steady stream of jokes and mocking satires of the Bush administration, and when this would be criticized, one of the points Wright's supporters brought up was the fact that, as a former veteran, Bright had every right to criticize the current administration’s decision to go to war in Iraq. Oops.

Oh Christ, JUST LET THIS FRANCHISE DIE ALREADY. Wait, I forget - it's too much of a cash cow. Honestly, they should just shut down the franchise. For a good while - like a decade or so. Then come back and restart it, with some ORIGINAL material, and none of the current producers. That's the only way to save this franchise from sucking, a total reboot after a few years for people to get the bad taste washed out of their mouths. And RRR, I have always thought that a Q film (done right) should have been one of, if not the last, of the "Next Gen" movies. They could have billed it as "Picard vs. Q, for the last time!" or some shit like that, and made it grandiose and meaningful. Hell, let Peter David write the fucking thing while you're at it, I'm sure he wouldn't screw things up half as bad as the current folks in charge.
