Oh Velo-city Night, The Stars Were All Elsewhere
Vyce replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in The WWE Folder
JBL v. Show is likely to suck anyway. Might as well do SOMETHING to make it interesting. -

Anyone else find it a little disingenous for the WWE to be patting itself on the back for producing a show for the troops, while they're simultaneously doing the whole "Mohammad Hassan" shit on RAW? -

So do we get the Big Show / JBL barbed wire match or what? -

Why do we have to suffer through Cena vs. Jesus again?? Wasn't twice in one week enough?!?!?! -

Romero is a fast learner - he's already picked up on that classic WWE announce technique of talking about anything except the match going on in the ring. -

Who is this new announce douche? -
What movies will you be going to see in 2005?
Vyce replied to CBright7831's topic in Television & Film
Serenity isn't a sci-fi blockbuster. Not by a long shot. It's mostly just a "Thank you" to the cast, crew and the few fans who cared about the show. That and Joss Whedon trying desperately to prove he wasn't the reason "ALIEN RESURRECTION" sucked. THANK YOU, 2gold. I'm more than a little disturbed that the Whedon fanboys are so incredibly blind to the fact that this movie, which is based on a FAILED TV show that couldn't even last ONE season, will do absolutely DICK at the box office. It is the height of comedy to call this thing a 'sci-fi blockbuster'. It was moved to the fall because the studio wisely saw that this thing would get slaughtered in any other slot other than the "fall wasteland." It'll still bomb regardless, though. -
If this is a one time thing, or even a once in a while thing (such as maybe once per month), it may not be so bad. But if this is a new standard, then I think this is going to be a negative in the long run.

This concept alone horrifies me. I'm absolutely against it. It's shit like this which makes me side very much AGAINST the field of genetics.

Ah, I can trust the O&A fan to bring up Stern. You're comletely right, of course - Stern has been unlistenable for a LONG time now. He's done absolutely nothing of consequence in the world of radio OR comedy in YEARS. I would have to side with the Futurama haters. I've seen pretty much every episode produced, and just do NOT like the program at all. Hell, I'd take current-day Simpsons episodes ANY DAY over any Futurama episode. .....well, except for that one, about the "Death by Snoo Snoo." That one did make me chuckle. About Will Ferrell - I have to disagree on that one. I'm a Ferrell mark, so putting him in a movie instantly increases the chances of me seeing the flick.

I can't get my hopes up for this. Knowing WB track record lately, they'll cast some fucktard like Jimmy Fallon as Flash to book-end with their Jack Black Green Lantern flick.

I doubt anyone cares, least of all the writers. This is also assuming, of course, that Jeph Loeb knew the identity of Hush when he created him and wrote the story introducing him. I've begun to think that he clearly did not.

Alright, I'll be the one who asks it: HHH v. Lesnar. Who wins? I'm not talking about some fixed wrestling match - I'm talking about an ass-whoopin'. A "Dixie Dogfight" if you will. My money would totally be on Brock to absolutely slaughter Hunter.

Seinfeld, definitely. Probably the most overrated television show in the entire history of television. Yeah - it's THAT overrated. I've tried to find humor in this show, and have literally watched dozens of episodes, by myself and with others, and though I know people who love the show, I've sat through each and every episode absolutely stonefaced. Whoever said Kids in the Hall......I can see your point of view, as some of the humor is a little.....offbeat...but I consider it a classic sketch comedy show. The Blue Collar Comedy Tour: it's kind of odd, but the funniest one out of that sorry lot is Ron White, who you NEVER hear from on that stupid show of theirs (it's always the fucking "Cable Guy" tool).

DC Comics' Next Big Event after Identity Crisis
Vyce replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Literature
I'm sort of torn about it. Don't get me wrong - the ending was LAME. But if it's revealed that this whole series was written specifically as a set-up for ANOTHER "big event" miniseries, then I'm going to feel REALLY gyped and more than a little pissed off. -
And nothing. It was 6 issues leading up to a lame ending.

Identity Crisis is a seven-issue mini-series written by Brad Meltzer. It's a murder mystery story that takes place in the DCU. The series is one of DC's best selling titles as well as being critically acclaimed. Too bad the finale was so lame. -
I just saw baby mountain lions helping perform abortions. This is SEVERELY fucked up.

If he absolves Jordan like I think he's going to, I'm officially dubbing him the new Jeph Loeb. A lot of people like Jeph Loeb, so that's not really an insult. He's been doing some great work over in Superman/Batman, IMO. And I'm pretty sure Johns WILL be absolving Hal Jordan. It's already been confirmed that Hal will be starring in the new GL title, and I don't see Hal being written as "the hero searching for redemption." For that to happen he pretty much HAS to be absolved of his crimes. Popularity does not = good. I don't care if a lot of people like that hack or not. Which is what's distressing to me, seeing as Bruce gets mind-raped by the JLA, and yet HE is the one starting to be written as the outsider. This is why I'm very frustrated with the shit going down with Marvel comics. The alternative to Marvel is D.C., and they've got their OWN entirely ridiculous fucking issues with their comic properties. -
Since when has Richards won the IC Title at some point? I'm actually a Richards mark, but I doubt they'll ever do much of anything with him past main eventing Heat. Still, I think he's got friends in management or something, so at least I think his employment is reasonably secure.

Yay, it's the comic book return that no one wants to see. Except, apparently, a few insane DC editors.

It's ridiculous that executions cost so much. Executions are the one good thing that the Chinese really know how to do well, and we should take a lesson from them: just put a fucking bullet in the son of a bitch's skull. Easy. Simple. I'll even chip in for the cost of the bullet.

This seems to be where they're going with "Green Lantern: Rebirth", and if so, I fucking HATE it. -
Eh, I bought it. It had good velocity - Chavo's selling of it left something to be desired, though. God bless Paul London, also, and his willingness to die for our entertainment.
