  1. This guy is like a legend somehow. I mean, I remember enjoying him a lot in WCW, even though.....well, WCW was what it was while he was there. I'm not really sure how this aura and mystique developed around the guy. What prompted him to quit, anyway? He just got tired of the business, or was it an injury?
  2. My personal dream is for Bob to lose his mind one day and try and pull something with Puder. Because I'd pay to see Puder fuck him up good.
  3. Today was the first time I really watched an in-depth piece about this whole mess on the news, rather than just catch snippets of it at a time. It's a very interesting situation going on over there, but I was more engulfed by WHAT THE HOLY HELL HAPPENED TO YUSCHENKO'S FACE?!?!?!?!??! He says he was poisoned, and shit, I think I might have to believe him, because the dude's face is FUCKED UP now.
  4. I've rationally explained why I think Xenogears lix teh dix. I don't think you want to hear it all again. Lord knows I certainly don't agree with everything Andrew has said in this thread, but I'm with him on Xenogears. I knew a kid in college who was so annoyingly infatuated with that game that I once got into an argument with him over which was a better work of fiction: Xenogears the game, for the entire works of Shakespeare. He chose the game, and he was NOT joking in the least. I don't know what sort of crazy fucking subliminal shit the creators snuck into that game, but it's got some weird-ass fans.
  5. I'm pretty much going to be getting a game for free for the holidy season, and since I enjoy a good FPS, I thought I'd post a thread to get some suggestions from you fellows as to which newly released FPS I should obtain for the PS2. I'm looking to get one of these three new games: 1. Call of Duty: Finest Hour 2. Killzone 3. GoldenEye: Rogue Agent Also, a few things you should consider: a. Don't bother telling me to base my selection on multiplay - most of my friends don't bother with FPS, and I haven't wasted my money on making my PS2 online. Base your comments, therefore, on what these games offer as far as single-player campaigns. b. As you may or may not have read in the recent GoldenEye thread, I pretty much don't have a problem with the Electronic Arts Bond games (and in fact, I enjoyed both Agent Under Fire and Nightfire). So, of these three games, which one of these three should I pick up? I don't have much of a preference, so I'm open to your feedback.
  6. I was picking up a beefy Debra vibe myself.
  7. The commercials revive you? Oops, they've ended. Prepare for the lethargy to return.
  8. Where's JBL new whore.....er, Diva Search loser.....er, "image consultant"? Frankly, you know what the Bashams need to suck a little less? Muttonchop sideburns.
  9. Oh my, Tazz just quoted a Kelis lyric.
  10. Frankly, I can't believe they really got away with the whole "I'm trying to screw the retard" thing. BTW, what the fuck is Ling Ling (other than a twisted pocket monster)? It's sort of androgynous. I can't figure out what gender they're implying it to be.
  11. Just ordered a few DVDs from 2002. My bank account is already hemorraghing due to Christmas shopping, but c'mon - $12 DVDs, PLUS an extra 20% off? They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Although after this and the DeepDiscountDVD sale from a week or so back, I'm going to be dreading getting that credit bill.
  12. Don't forget Butters molesting an unconscious Paris.

    REBIRTH

Wait a minute. Let me see if I've figured this out. So Parallax basically takes over the will of the user? Which would mean that Hal Jordan is essentially absolved of every nasty thing he ever did after going nuts. .......I'm not sure I like that. In fact, I'm quite certain I DON'T.
  14. VARIOUS kinds? Shit. I personally think that a partially cybernetic grizzly would be the coolest weapon of mass destruction ever.
  15. Once again, Velocity is the better of the two SD brand shows. The TE shit just looks beyond awful, Holly humiliation or not. And I agree with nl5 - the promise of Hiroko in B&P match is the only thing to look forward to next week. Armageddon has to be on track to do an even worse buy rate than Taboo Tuesday.
  16. All of the serious bodily injury angles make no sense. * Kane injures Linda McMahon - okay, he's the heel. A few weeks later, Shane almost commits vehicular manslaughter of Kane, and yet he's somehow still the GOOD GUY in the feud. * The aforementioned Big Show / Kurt Angle feud. Big Show nearly kills Angle, and not only does he face no criminal (or civil) liability, but when he comes back, Angle is the heel for shaving Show's head. * Kane RAPES a woman and impregnates her with his demon seed, and he's booked as the hero against the guy who *accidentally* caused her to miscarry.
  17. THANK YOU. You will also notice that this individual wrote this report refraining from placing exclamation points after every sentence.
  18. Questions over the 2000 election, okay, but there's really NO question about the 2004 election - Kerry lost, and lost badly. Anyone who thinks there's REALLY any controversy over it is just a poor, delusion fool.
  19. Add me to the list. I found this to be one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen as well. It's really one of those flicks that just makes me lose my faith in humanity.
  20. Shelton Benjamin rules all in my WWE game. Brother never seems to have less than a **** match with virtually ANYONE I book him against, and he's been racking up the ***** star matches as of late.

    Superman

I think that's why Marvel's characters, and Spider-Man in particular, have been so successful - they're more easily related to. Guys like Spidey have always had real fears: am I going to be able to make the rent this month? Will I find time for my wife / girlfriend and still handle my responsibilities as a superhero? It's not the same with most of DC's characters. Nothing. But when you make him ridiculously powerful to the point where 99.99% of villains don't realistically have a shot at taking him down, it just becomes boring. Marvel has a better "Guy who just does what's right" character in Captain America.
  22. I'm pretty sure he's referring to the election of 2000. In which case, he's still WRONG, but you try arguing with the lad.
  23. Gamera is full of meat, Gamera is fun to eat, we're all eating GAMERA!!! I'd just like to say: Godzilla / Jet Jaguar vs. Megalon / Gigan (from Godzilla vs. Megalon) was a ***** star giant-monster tag match. Godzilla can execute a dropkick better than even Bob fucking Holly, bah gawd.

    Superman

Probably the most overrated comic character ever, and that's saying something what with Wolverine wandering around out there. I've always thought Superman was "okay", and certainly iconic, but I've never really LOVED the character or anything. He's just too ridiculously powerful for me to care about him - he's a fucking GOD, essentially. Pretty much only two things in the entire universe can hurt him, which is why you have 43 billion stories out there with the villain trying to harm Lois or Jimmy Olsen or Perry fucking White, because they sure as hell don't stand a chance against the boy scout themselves. Give me Batman any day of the week.

    Wolverine

You see, I think that's part of what made Rucka's Wolverine stories good. They didn't involve massive MU cameo's, and they weren't that complicated. They were simple stories based around Wolverine. Granted, Sabretooth was in a few issues, and they had the thing with the chick who seemed to be Wolverine's daughter, but we'll never see who she was or what she was because we've now got "heel" Wolverine taking on everyone in the Marvel Universe. Which, by the way, does NOT leak over into other books. Which pisses me off ROYALLY. Which one are your referring to? There's "The Native", but she wasn't Wolverine's daughter - she was a "lost" experiment of the Weapon X project, with powers similar to Wolverine & Sabretooth. But she wasn't related to Wolvie, unless Marvel has gone down a REALLY twisted path (for anyone who's read the story arc, you'll know what I mean). There's also "X-23", who just recently appeared in Uncanny X-Men, but has been prominently featured in the "Nyx" series. I believe she's a girl clone of Logan.
