  1. I don't know if he will bring her back, I don't know what his plans are. But I can say this: if Whedon were to go to Quesada today, and say, "I want to bring Jean Grey back.", it would be done. Before the end of the year. Despite the fact that she was only killed off like......maybe two years ago, TOPS. Marvel will give Whedon (and a lot of their other 'celebrity' writers) just about anything they fucking want.
  2. Yeah. He was a real bastard, that Hitler.
  3. Rock starring in "Be Cool" is a smart move, business-wise. It's what I've believed he should do, right now, with this career. Look, lets be honest - despite "Rundown" being "awesome" or whatever, or "Walking Tall" being good, I don't know, outside of maybe "Scorpion King", none of the movies where he's been the main star have performed that well - not up to expectations. He is definitely unproven as a Hollywood action star. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE the guy, and I want him to succeed, because a) again, I like Rock and b) we could use a new breed of action star, a la Arnold or Sly, because the herd is pretty thin on that front now. So, in order to build up some cred, I've felt that the Rock should be starring in films with established stars - and "Be Cool" is thus the perfect movie for him. The other films, I got serious qualms about. I look at that list, and I think that MAYBE two of them could work. "Spy Hunter" might succeed, if for no other reason than John Woo. "Doom" might do well also, but I don't think it's safe at all to start labelling that a "blockbuster", especially since there's been a dozen or so movies in the last 5 years that have been made based on video games that were pure, unadulterated shit and justifiably did shit at the box office.
  4. I will have to kill their children, you know this. Remember. Remember that it is my burden to do so, and judge me not for my sins, for I commit them for the benefit of us all.
  5. Damn, we should have had an over / under on when Yuna would post in this thread.
  6. Although to be fair, she did have one of my favorite movie quotes in recent memory: "We're going to get fucked up and do fucked up things!"
  7. "See, now here's what I'm going to do to CBS....okay......for the Janet Jackson 'nip-slip.' I'd fine them. That's what I'd do.....okay. I'd fine them. Because the far-left bomb-throwers, and the ACLU - they think that thing is perfectly fine. They don't have a problem with Janet Jackson exposing her breasts all over the place where your children could see them. That's why my new book, 'Who's Looking Out For You For Kids, is so important. BTW, Jobber, for recommending me, I'm going to be giving you a free subscription to The Factor website. Stay on the line."
  8. The Taker / Heidenreich feud is easily the worst feud of 2004 (and is treading into 2005 territory). YES, worse than Snitsky / Lita. For the precise reasons Invader elaborated on.....we have Heidenreich, who we are led to believe is this evil, psychotic human being, who is dangerous and violent - and yet the only individuals he seems capable of beating up are cruisers and Michael Cole. Every time he's faced Taker he's either lost or, even more damaging, been booked to look so terrified of Taker that he'll quit the match and just leave. There's not much they can get out of Heidenreich OTHER than to book him as a monster, but they're destroying all of that right off to bat by booking him as a pussy and a stooge, to put over the Undertaker, who doesn't need ANYONE to put him over at this point in his career (and who SHOULD be using his name value, at this point, to make the careers of others).
  9. That's a rhetorical question, right? I mean, this IS C-Bacon we're talking about.
  10. I have to agree that "House" was a goddamn awful horror film, and anyone who really enjoys it must have very, very low standards when it comes to horror flicks. And I suppose a big part of why I didn't like it (amongst many reasons) is because there is no real story (even for a horror flick, where plot is usually second-stage to gore & mayhem) and just constant brutality against human beings for no other reason than the characters doing the deeds get off on....well, constant brutality. However, I do like Rob, and I thought that he showed some promise as a director, so I'm cautiously optimistic that this film demonstrates "growth" for him as a writer / director.
  11. I don't really follow the Spider-Man comics. Was Gwen Stacy ever brought back from the dead? You said every dead character except Ben. Gwen never came back from the dead, but what happened was almost as bad. Apparently, as we learn via the horrible blundering of JMS, Gwen Stacy years ago did the nasty with Norman Osborne (yeah, the Green Goblin), got knocked up, and had two kids which we never heard about until now, when they return a handful of years later - fully grown, due to some bizarre aging disease they contracted via possessing some of Norman Osborne's mutated blood in their system - brainwashed into killing Spider-Man. And as it turns out now, the male twin tried to kill Spider-man after mainlining some Goblin serum, but in the ensuing battle he was knocked into the sea, where he washed ashore, amnesiac (but the implication is there, of course, that he might become a new Green Goblin). The female twin, who by the way looks EXACTLY like Gwen Stacy, seems to be set up, if I'm gauging my Previews correctly, to possibly entice Peter into some sort of love triangle. Only at the "House of Ideas"!
  12. Nope, check out the first page of the thread. My bad.Well, at least it's for security and not for Bush's cowboy boots. I blame this on the liberals. If they didn't hate Bush so much, often irrationally, then a few mill could have been shaved off that bill for security.
  13. I'm sure he took credit for Powell leaving, seeing as he generally exaggerates his own worth in an industry in which he ceased to be relevant years ago. Uh oh. Much like "nazi", I think "tyranny" may become the new word that gets over- and improperly used.
  14. Moving closer and closer to Vince's goal of 24 PPVs a year, one for each brand every month. YAY!!!! Oversaturation of an already dwindling market is FUN!!!!
  15. This is why I'm not going to be one to quickly judge Vince for his statement about the Rock. There's nothing wrong with Rock choosing to star in "Walking Tall" or "Rundown", because both are simple action flicks which is what he's good at. Some of the other shit his name has been attached to.....well, some of it leaves me scratching my head. So maybe Vince DOES have a point.
  16. A bit, if you oppose polygamy between two....er, three consenting adults.
  17. Wait, someone is complaining about Whedon's writing mistakes? Welcome to Marvel 2005, where all mistakes and editorial fuckups will be forgiven (if not outright ignored) by a management team that is far more concerned with being starstruck over their writers than actually putting out quality books.
  18. What the fuck is that? Cause it's not the Batmobile. I'm with Jobber. The more I stare at those pics and watch that video clip, I'm expecting Jesse James to enter stage left wearing a Batman costume.
  19. She's very overrated. She's a decent singer, I suppose, though I don't know if I'd categorize her as "one of the best there is". As for looks? She's attractive, but that's it. VERY overrated. Sorry, fellas, but no woman with hips & ass that big deserves a high rating (unless, of course, you're Ripper and are into that sort of bizarre shit).
  20. You're clearly insane.
  21. Read up on con law, my friend. But I just wanted to mention two things, since you mentioned free speech: 1.) As this is a public messageboard which is owned & operated by private individuals rather than the government, you essentially have ZERO free speech rights. Every single word you post is subject to the authority of the moderators. 2.) Even assuming you did have free speech rights, remember that there is no such thing as complete freedom of speech, as certain types of speech - and a specific example is discussing the possible assassination of someone, particularly the President - isn't protected as a matter of public policy. Congrats to FM for being stupid enough to skip merrily down the path of speech which isn't protected at all in our society.....you expect me to feel sympathy when he gets punished for it? As for FM, why are we still debating this? Just ban the guy from this folder, and reinstate him elsewhere. There, problem solved.
  22. I think they should throw some cash at Frankie Muniz, and make "Agent Cody Banks 3", in which Cody must attend a new high school, which is staffed, ironically enough, by several WWE superstars. Benoit can play the grizzled & tough as nails gym teacher with a heart of gold. JBL can play the stern authoritarian school principal. RVD can play the fun-loving art teacher, since those assholes were always smoking shit anyway. Eddie Guerrero, regretably, gets typecast as the janitor, but we get a few tender scenes in which Eddie introduces Cody to the world of street-racing and low-rider contests in the barrio. The movie's big dramatic moment comes when Cody fails to catch the bad guy, and has a major crisis of faith, which he overcomes with the help of his inspirational homeroom teacher, Randall Orton, a young man who's just earned his teaching degree and wants to make a difference in the lives of our nation's impressionable youth. Call me crazy, but I think they could sell this to the studios. ......and if that doesn't work, we go with plan B: "School of Rock II" starring Chris Jericho.
  23. I thought London qualified on a house show. Regardless, at this point Scotty fucking 2 Hotty doesn't deserve a spot in the Rumble more than Akio does.
  24. I'm suprised no one has mentioned the fact, yet, that Jarrett & Nash as main eventers did nothing for, and helped facilitate the demise of, WCW. That was back in 2000 / 2001. It's been 4 years, you'd think someone would have learned a lesson.
  25. He got banned for being an idiot. There are rules of this board about flaming in general which he wasn't respecting. Debating whether or not what he said is technically illegal or not is ridiculous - he was flamebaiting on a topic that is so taboo in our society that the line between "oh, he's just joking" and "no, he's serious" is about as blurred as it can be (for matters of, quite frankly, public policy). To be fair, I don't mind if he's unbanned - but like I proposed, a little vacation (let the mods decide how long) wouldn't hurt him.
