You jest, but really, what the fuck is up with us Americans? Are we turning into a Muslim country or something?
-
Christ, I just did a spit-take. Absolute gold, sek. Goddamn hilarious reference.

Pants so low people can see your underwear?
Vyce replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Current Events
That's right. Brothers, Mexicans and wiggers are all on notice - you gotta pull them pants up. -
Please do so. The vast majority of America is NOT hard-left - if anything, they're moderate, and very resistant to the extremes of either party. A move in that direction by the Democratic party only ensures many more years of Republican control. On that aspect, I have to agree with Mike....er, "Chickenhawk", in that the Dems just really don't understand why they lost this election (the one that was theirs to lose), and all of the answers they're coming up with ("I know - let's move FARTHER to the left!!!") are all wrong.

This thread was moving along just fine and THEN the Whedon marks come out of their hidey holes.

Or Cedric the Entertainer playing Ralph Cramden in "The Honeymooners". ........oh shit, they're actually DOING that.

Well said, Ripper. She brings absolutely nothing to the show no matter what they do with her. Whoa, wait - you mean you're distinguishing Dawn Marie from the other talentless divas? That's not a distinction I would be willing to make.

Anyone know where I can download the Royal Rumble?

I don't want to be a buzzkill or anything, but in the future, when questions like this get asked, can they be answered in private messages? With all of the various torrent sites getting shut down left and right, I'd really rather not advertise the ones that remain up and running, lest we openly tempt fate. -
You've summed up exactly why she won. I'll agree she had the personality best suited to the job, but all they ever do with her anymore is have her shoot the t-shirt gun. Any one of them could have done that. Well, last week they DID have her get physically threatened by Edge. Which, BTW, I found surprisingly erotic. ......I think I may have some issues to work out.
-
Yeah, I'm trying to work out the logistics of it myself. What, did she book herself at the strip club in advance to the Japan tour??!?!
-
She was the best of the Diva girls. That's a rather dubious honor, I know, but honestly, of all of the new women that have debuted in the last few months (and there's been about 45 of them), she was at least marginally interesting and did well in her role. So, of course, she's the one who's leaving.

Well I, for one, am pleased with the result of the game, if for no other reason than it means that Donovan fucking McNabb will NOT have a Superbowl ring.
-
Should anyone be surprised? I mean, that right there is pretty much the entire reason for the stupid Diva Search contest.

IMO, it's by far the most enjoyable of his works. But then again, Bruce Campbell's performance was the one that owned the film.

Favorite TV shows that lasted a season or less

From a few years back: "Cupid" with Paula Marshall and Jeremy Piven. A very well-done romantic comedy about Piven, who believed that he was the earthly incarnation of the god Cupid, forced to live as a mortal man on Earth as punishment from Zeus for his troublemaking. Before he could return to Olympus he had to help 100 couples find true love. Paula Marshall played his social worker / psychiatrist (which was a punishment of her own, as I believe she was forced to be so as part of some community service requirement). The show was at times very humorous and light-hearted, but wasn't afraid to frequently delve into the dramatic. It unfortunately got stuck with horrible timeslots (the first was on Thursdays, I believe, against ER - back when ER was still good - and then shuffled to Saturday nights, where it did better, but its target audience lamentably wasn't at hope to see it), and that was that. Which is a shame, because even though the show must have debuted something like 5 years or so ago, I still remember it fondly. A more recent pick: Fox's "John Doe". Pretty decent Friday night thriller / suspense, with a very intriguing cliffhanger season finale. Fox has been quick to cancel anything stuck at the Friday 9 p.m. slot ever since X-Files was moved to Sundays. From the vaults of syndication: The syndicated "Crow" TV show, starring Mark "Chairman Kaga" Dacascos. This was from around 4 or 5 years ago. While obviously not as good as the movie, it was a perfectly fine hour-long fantasy-drama based upon the Crow franchise, and actually did well enough in the ratings that a second season WAS greenlighted, but alas the company that produced it was bought out post-season and the new owners didn't want to bother producing new episodes. -
I'm not surprised. When the show debuted, they hyped it up, and it took them maybe three weeks before they began running plots / scripts that were nearly identical to the stuff they'd done before - in virtually EVERY ONE of the previous four series. When you're dealing with the fifth franchise show, you need something new. When they tried to shake things up, Berman resorted to his old tactic of ripping off Joe Michael Straczynski with the whole "Earth has been attacked, we must embark on a mission to save it!" storyline. The characters were pretty good, and the actors did their jobs well, they were all just hampered by very poor creative storytelling.

I need a new Tool album to sort of erase the bad taste of APC's last album out of my mouth. And no, I'm most definitely NOT talking about "The Thirteenth Step." The real question is when will Trent Reznor every get off his ass and give us the Tapeworm album that's been rumored / promised for YEARS now?
-
Really....I found that very sad, but not so much disturbing. The REALLY disturbing death / scene in that film is towards the end, where the one German soldier (the same one they took mercy on and let live, I think?), "shushes" the Jewish GI as he slowly bayonets him to death. THAT one fucked me up for a while. To this day, whenever I watch that movie, I always fast forward past that scene. It's just too much.

I might agree about the latter, but the former? Hell, that's an absolutely fucking GREAT reason to execute someone.

I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'm willing to sell you. It's a great bargain. I'll even knock off an additional 10%, just for you.

No. The only way RVD agreed to appear at ECW Guilty As Charged 2001 was if Heyman paid him everything he was owed, and he did. Hence, RVD showed up and wrestled Jerry Lynn. And Paul Heyman & Tazz would be doing commentary? Fuck that. Bring back Joey Styles or I don't give a shit. That'd be a very bizarre announce job. I think both men are good at color, but one of them would have to do play-by-play, and I just don't see either of them up to it.

I must say, I like the Tajire / Regal win, although collectively I think they've both won about 35 different tag championships in the WWE with mixed & matched partners. And we all know that in probably 2 weeks, at most, they'll put the titles back on La Res, for absolutely no good reason at all. Not bad. It would have been more awesome if this was Asashoryu, though. This will never happen, but I'll go on record that I would pay a small fortune in PPV fees to see Kobashi absolutely fucking demolish HHH.

I KNEW it. I KNEW he was tappin' that. I always thought that they had a very....interesting chemistry when they did the Smackdown B-shows together. It always seemed there was something going on there under the service, and I am proven correct! Vindication, bitches.

Dude, EVERY news channel I watched on election night - and I watched ALL of them - talked about their exit polls predicting a big Kerry victory. And they weren't just talking about the non-white woman voters.

I never find myself agreeing more with RRR than when he dissects the "Batista phenomena".
