It's probably one of the best American toons of the past 10 years or so. It's a shame that it was cancelled, because Genndy really created a program that worked on so many levels, and incorporated elements from such an eclectic number of sources near perfectly, that the end result is a series which I don't think will even fully be appreciated until years later. If he's signed on to do a new Astroboy series, I have high hopes for it - though I know absolutely ZERO about Astroboy other than it's a landmark / legendary Japanese franchise.
