  1. Dammit!
  2. The question is, when they say "hardcore" what do they mean? Do they mean ECW style hardcore? Do they mean WWE style hardcore, with lots of trash can lids and broomsticks? I really think it could work if they do it right. I've always wondered why there wasn't a late night wrestling show by the WWE. Just one hour a week, I think it could work, especially if they don't overexpose or overhype it. I don't think it needs to be ECW again...they should create their own brand/name.
  3. Hopefully there's more actual...you know..._matches_. I'm guessing HBK/HHH vs. LOD is on there for the start of DX or something like that? They'll talk about how that helped shift the tides and let them beat WCW in the end, or something like that. I hope there's a _TON_ of extras. If so, I'll buy it. If not...too bad.
  4. Of course I could watch it and decide _myself_, but what fun would that be!
  5. So I got a good deal on a Survivor Series 2000 DVD today and bought it. Now before I watch it, anyone have any thoughts? I know this is the show with the stupid "drop HHH from the forklift" shit, but I remember hearing Rock/Rikishi and Angle/Taker were surprisingly good. Anyone remember the show?
  6. Yep. Botched spots happen.

    The Bashams

Yeah...they give Billy and Chuck a long heel tag team title reign, and look what it did for their careers. They either need to let the Bashams get over by putting them in a big feud or not. Shit, or get off the pot, y'know?
  8. Didn't Foley say in his book that HBK lobbied against having an Austin/Rock/Foley title match at WM15 because it should always be a one on one match?
  9. Of course they deserved to get shut down. The point is that I miss the competition, and like the other poster said...it made it so Vince really had to try. Competition is a good thing, man. Right now Vince has a monopoly...and that ain't good. And hell, just having two more shows a week that MIGHT have some good parts to them was awesome.
  10. I haven't seen any PWG stuff yet. How's the quality of the DVDs, and all that jazz? Any reviews of any of the shows anywhere?
  11. Thanks for the answers so far. I remember watching Summerslam 98 and seeing Shamrock getting HUGE pops in his lions den match against Owen. By Breakdown in September the crowd hated him. Did he do anything to cause this, or was it just that the crowd liked Rocky and Foley better, so he was default heel?
  12. How long do they usually take to release stuff on DVD?
  13. 1) Abyss d. D'Lo Brown (Abyss put D'Lo through a table, El Leon makes the save) 2) Sabin d. Shane to retain X-title (real good match) Fairplay interview with Tenay - he's going to have his own interview segment like Piper's Pit 3) Punk and Dinero d. Sandman and Mikey Whipwreck -Urlacher fought off Fairplay and the Redshirts 4) AAA team d. Matt Stryker, Eric Young, Shark Boy and Chad Collyer 5) Red Shirts d. 3LK to win the tag team titles -ICP interview, they beat up Gilberti and Young 6) Callis d. Watts when Goldy turned heel Next week: Abyss vs. El Leon ICP vs. Gilberti and Young
  14. TNA needs a better business plan. Who the hell is going to buy a Sunday PPV that doesn't already buy their Wednesday ones??? They need people to know they exist that aren't on the internet and aren't already watching them before worrying about bringing in Hall and Nash for some PPV that's going to tank.
  15. Sure, they put the world title on Vince Russo...and David Arquette. Sure, they put the CW title on Ed Ferrara. Sure, they were extremely disorganized, poorly run, and misused tons of talent. Sure, they had plenty other things wrong with them that I can't fit into this little post. But man, I still miss WCW. I first _really_ got into wrestling in 1999. I'd watch with some buddies, and we'd watch Nitro for an hour, then watch RAW, and then I'd tape the replay of Nitro and watch the last two hours the next day. Then we had Thunder on Wednesday, and pretty soon Smackdown came along. Then Saturday night, and Heat on Sundays, plus two PPVs a month. I think it was a good time to be a wrestling fan. I just wish Ted Turner or somebody rich would get behind a wrestling promotion _somewhere_ to challenge Vince again, but I just don't see that happening. I mean, TNA is nice and all, but it's not like they're on the same level as the WWE right now. So yeah, I miss WCW...does anyone else?
  16. 1) Did Rock do a big heel turn to join the Nation, or did he just sort of come back and was placed with them? How did his feud with Austin in late 97 come about? 2) When did Ahmed refuse to job to Kurrgan and leave the WWF? Was that when Kurrgan was Interogator in the Truth Commission? 3) How did Ahmed get hurt before his supposed title shot at Taker? How did he turn heel and join the Nation? 4) DX were heels at the April 98 PPV, Unforgiven, and faces by Over the Edge in May. How did they turn face? Or was it still just shades of gray? 5) I think the whole Kane storyline started after KOTR 97...Kane, though, wasn't brought in until Badd Blood in October. Was this to just let the storyline build a bit? Did the WWF always know that Glen Jacobs was going to be Kane? 6) How did the first HIAC match come about? Like, did they just announce it, or was a challenge made by Taker, etc. I'll probably add more later...but thanks!!!
  17. Yeah. They should have just announced Savio instead of hyping it throughout the show, if they couldn't come up with anyone else good. Can't really think of anybody who they could have used, since the only other major heel was Kane, who they obviously didn't want to use. Speaking of Savio...were the Boriquas dead by then? And who was the guy in the group that had more hair than your average bear? And, getting back on topic, was it pretty well known that HBK wouldn't be wrestling anytime soon, and that they didn't want to take the belt off him and ruin their main event so he just decided to tough it out through one last match?
  18. Indeed he did. He had to pay $150,000 to buy out of his contract on which he still had three years. Holy crap! I never knew that. That's a lot of money to give up. Wow...
  19. How soon after the screwjob at SS97 did everyone know that it was a shoot? Did Meltzer report it right away or something? Did people still think it was a work for a while afterwards? Was Neidhart's contract up, or did he just leave the WWF a few weeks after? Did Bulldog just flat out leave? What was the general reaction on the net? Thanks!
  20. Just read that the match is actually Bashams vs. Kidman and London
  21. Man, I might as well read the spoilers, since we all know who's facing Brock at NWO. We didn't need ANOTHER battle royal on Smackdown, though, sheesh. Nice to see London on the show, though.
  22. First off, did HBK wrestle at all between RR 98 and WM14? I like to speculate about stuff that "could" have happened. If Shawn hadn't injured his back in the casket match against Taker, what do you think he would have done in 1998? Austin was obviously in line for his big title run, and Foley, Taker, and Kane were programmed in as the challengers for a while. Maybe HHH turning on him and they would have had that feud back then? What do you think?
  23. And just to add on to this...what do you guys remember as the best/most memorable Nitros/Thunders ever?
  24. I never really got to watch WCW Nitro during its "glory days" when it was beating RAW in the ratings. I was wondering if there was a website anywhere that maybe had a history of it or something like that...you know, talking about the classic moments, big matches, crap like that. Same with Thunder. If not, oh well! Thanks!

    UT/Kane

Taker will confront Kane on RAW and shoot lightning at him from the rafters. Simple booking, really.
