  1. I posted this topic forever ago... is anyone else listening to it yet?
  2. Well no shit.
  3. Furthermore, "WE WERE INVITED, PUNCH WAS SERVED, CHECK WITH POLAND."
  4. I wonder if these same "scholars" can explain to my grandmother where her parents and siblings ended up after the war... maybe they just got really busy and forgot to keep in touch. In regards to the Iran thing, they didn't just "give" it to the Jews, theres a whole lot more to it than can be explained on an internet message board. Try reading a book. ... That sounded dickish, I didn't mean for it to be, honestly there are a lot of good books on the topic, check one out.
  5. How are those remakes?
  6. Don't confuse liberals with... well... whatever Jasonx is.
  7. I don't think you use a first or second round pick on a QB, but I wouldn't go so far as to name Orlovsky the heir apparent. I think the Lions should seriously look at signing or trading for a veteran QB. Like Jon Kitna. Make him the starter next year, with Orlovsky backing him up. You can always use help in terms of depth. Maybe they go the free agent route, but given Dan Wilkinson's age. The Oregon DT, Ngoti? might not be a bad choice for Detroit. Ngata, yo.
  8. The Lions already drafted a highly regarded Pac 10 QB a little while ago, and he was promptly ruined by the total lack of direction of the Lions organization. What would Leinart do to warrant this punishment? Detroit is the city where QB's careers go to die. Leinart is not a Tedford quarterback. Its important to make a distinction between Tedford QBs and "highly regarded Pac-10 QBs."
  9. It was a really, really good movie. There was a pretty good crowd for a midnight showing on a Tuesday for a 3 hour movie. Probably 50+ people. All I can do is echo the sentiment of Dmann and say that it was a beautiful movie. Visually and in how it was written and acted. Go see it in the theaters, as it deserves to be seen on the big screen.
  10. I didn't really spend a lot of time in that post talking about Oklahoma, so I don't see how I made them out to look bad. I just said UCLA creamed them, which they did. You can't say something like "Well if it werent for the turnovers..." because, as I'm sure you know, turnovers are part of the game. Its like saying "If USC hadnt scored those touchdowns, Oregon would have had them." I don't think Rhett Bomar is going to be good enough to win a bowl game this year, hes had all year and he only piled up 9 touch downs. Dennis Dixon has 5 in splitting time over the last three games (he has 6 total, but one was against Montana and it didn't really matter.) Oklahoma has gotten the ball rolling lately, and they looked good against Ok. State, but Oregons offense has been getting into gear with a new QB as well. Also, as nogoodnick pointed out, Jordan Kent is stupid fast. Faster than anyone Oklahoma has played. This is a guy who has a realistic chance of making an NFL roster, an NBA roster or the Olympics. Anyway, I think its going to be a good game, but Oregon is angry, and they can pass all day. I still feel like its their game to lose. PS - U of O is NOT Cal. Oklahoma is NOT Texas Tech.
  11. Toy Soldiers = lone bright spot from Encore.
  12. The fact that Eminem and 50 Cent both got nominated for such shitty albums makes me sad. I thought "Late Registration" was great, so I don't have any problems with it being on there and "Be" is undisputable, just a great album. I don't even have a problem with Missy Elliot being on there... I didn't really listen to it that much, but what I heard I liked. The Game's "The Documentary" was better than that bullshit Eminem and 50 put out this year. I realize hip-hop acts don't usually get much attention, and having Common on there was a breath of fresh air, but I wonder if the people in charge of this catagory even heard Little Brother, Sage Francis, Atmosphere or Blackalicious who all put out albums this year (not their best albums, but still very good.) The Ying Yang Twins' "United States of Atlanta" would be a good choice too, or perhaps some recognition of the Houston rap scene... Not that I've ever thought a Grammy was vindication for an album, but it still worries me that it might make Eminem feel better about releasing "Encore." It was one of the most disapointing things I've ever heard in my life.
  13. I would bet my life that this is just a bit of monetary misdirection. Like someone said earlier, the money is probably hid in YES, or some other organization involved with the Yankees. Everyone does this sort of thing, in an effort to not contribute as much money to revenue sharing.
  14. UCLA let AP go for a touchdown and 23 carries, Oklahoma still got shat upon. Dennis Dixon is a good quarterback, his QB rating is comparable to Clemens. Oregon's offense is wide open and packed with weapons - Dante Rosario, Tim Day, Demetrius Williams, Cameron Colvin, Jordan Kent (probably faster than anyone Oklahoma has seen this year), James Finley, Terrence Whitehead is a pretty good back and Jonathan Stewart can pound the ball. Furthermore, its not easy to run on the Ducks. They have a thick d-line that includes Haloti Ngata and Devan Long. Oregon was just a better team this year, if they show up to play, its over. I don't think Oklahoma wins this one... either Oregon wins it or Oregon loses it.
  15. Assuming LenDale and Vince Young both come back, they'll both be in the Top 5. Also, Peterson is a fucking stud. Should he stay healthy he will break 2000 yards. You could also whichever FSU quarterback ends up starting next year in the running. Heres a question, does JoePa come back after this year?
  16. Says the man with the Puerto Rican flag in his signature.
  17. I'm not trying to jump in on a 'flame war' or anything, but Dama, I don't really see where you're getting this idea that the USC players are cocky about the Rose Bowl. I've heard a lot of USC fans (and football fans in general) talking about how the Trojans are going to roll over the Longhorns, but most of thats been on message boards. As great as this place is for discussing sports, something tells me that Reggie Bush isn't pouring over the college football threads at five in the morning. The fact of the matter is, USC can be cocky, and they can do so without it being detrimental to their game. They were openly cocky before the UCLA game, and then they went out there and hung 66 on them, while holding them to 19. UCLA has a stupendous offense. Drew Olson had a better year throwing the ball than Matt Leinart (as far as touchdowns, interceptions and QB rating) and far better than Vince Young (every catagory.) UCLA's top three rushers combined for 1500 yards, and they had the nation's top tight end. This is not some shlub offense. As the season has progresed, this USC defense has matured - by the time the Rose Bowl rolls around they'll be healthy and deep. As nogoodnic has already pointed out, USC has a defense that can hang with some of the most prolific offenses that the country has to offer. Couple this with an offense that can hurt you in so many ways and an NFL calliber coach who doesn't have a history of blowing big games, and its not really hard to fathom USC beating Texas by a couple of touchdowns. Texas is a really good team too, but Jamaal Charles and Ramonce Taylor are not Reggie Bush and LenDale White. Matt Leinart is a better quarterback than Vince Young. Granted, VY can hurt you with his feet, too, but against better defenses he can be contained. 3.8 avg against Ohio State, 1.7 against A&M. The rest of the games he rushed poorly in were blow-outs, so they aren't a perfect representation, but still, you can take away that facet of his game.
  18. Oregon v. Oklahoma should be good, especially with the teams meeting again next year in Autzen.
  19. I don't like the Cowboys and I hate Oklahoma but I loves me some Roy Williams. I hated the Lakers but I loved Shaq. I still love Shaq, and I'm fine with Miami. I don't really like Texas, but I like Limas Sweed. You can't hate on someone whos name is Limas Sweed.
  20. Such is our burden.

  22. Trick Daddy isn't just now blowing up. Hes had quite a few big radio songs before this current crop (Dro in the Wind, Whats Up just to name a couple) The Slip n' Slide All-Stars are hardly Anticon.
  23. Oh c'mon, like noones seen chicken cordon bleu being made before.
  24. Based on the tone of the article I read about Shavlik, it sounded like he was more into getting some experience in the whole shebang rather than actually getting picked up. I mean, put as much stock into that as you feel appropriate, but he didn't hire an agent.
