  1. None of the names pop out, except for Koby Clemens. That's more of a novelty.
  2. Teams are loathe to trade talent these days though. Cash is one thing, but no one seems willing to deal prospects at all.
  3. If and when Vick plays again, I can't wait to see the crowd reaction.
  4. Well the teams who actually need stuff are the Angels, Mariners, Twins and Indians and there aren't really any fans of those teams on this board, at least to my knowledge. Besides viva, you know I love me some Astros talk. You must be blind then. There's plenty of Twins fans here. I'd say what the White Sox needs but it's a laundry list, and no sense in listing them all since realistically that can't get all done in one trading deadline. The list is easy. They just need offense and pitching. If I were the Sox I'd throw Jim Thome's name out there.
  5. Compensation picks are determined based on performance the last two years. Missing most of last season will hurt Dmitri.
  6. If they build it up right, it will be a big moment when he finally loses the belt. Regardless of how badly everyone thinks he sucks, he is so freaking huge that he comes across as a credible monster. I actually don't have a problem with him having the belt. Though again I think they could have taken the opportunity to give the belt to a mid card guy and maybe make a bigger star. The building up to him losing the belt would be easier of course if they hadn't sacrificed him to Cena "the underdog giant killer". Knowing mcmahon/the wwe they will probably have him lose the built in a week or two, to the boring batista....who really should turn heel if they are going to have him in the title picture again for the foreseeable future. And Mcmahon wonders why the ratings are down. The problem is that I don't think Khali can carry the load needed to carry a world title long term. Can he put together 10-15 minute main events on house shows on a consistent basis? There are several factors that go into being champion beyond booking.
  7. Not the best quality but it'll do.
  8. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the greatest Phillies advertisement to air in five years. A child asks Chase Utley to sign a ball, Chase happily complies. Next in line is Jamie Moyer. "My wife asked you to sign this for her. She really likes you." "Oh really? Hey, maybe I should come by sometime." "I don't think so."
  9. Five years from now? Let's see, strictly for entertainment purposes. 1. John Cena 2. Ken Kennedy 3. Triple H 4. Jeff Hardy 5. Edge 6. Samoa Joe 7. Montel Vontavious Porter 8. Matt Hardy 9. Randy Orton 10. Lance Cade
  10. I went to a game at Trenton's Waterfront Park on Monday night. nothing to say on the players, since I wasn't watching/scouting closely. That is a magnificent facility however. Parking is cheap and convenient. Despite the use of a parking garage, the facility does a good job of directing traffic afterwards. Tickets are inexpensive (of course I've only been to one overpriced minor league park). Concessions are terrific with good prices, variety and healthy options available. Sightlines are good. Best of all, the stadium overlooks the Delaware River, meaning you look over the right field wall and see Pennsylvania.
  11. Loney already has a higher OPS this season than Teixeira, albeit in limited playing time.
  12. The only time Hill should feel Kendall breathing down his neck is when Kendell chases a passed ball towards the dugout.
  13. There are still royalties I would think. Not now but in the future.
  14. I don't think low ratings are due to Cena/Lashley. In general, the shows have gone stale the last month or so. What are the hot programs right now? I'm hard pressed to even identify a current running program outside of that main event. The limo angle in retrospect was a disaster because they planned months of shows around it and they were forced to drop it. Long term, they need to develop hot feuds. Short term, they could hot shot something by running a King of the Ring type tournament, or something that breaks away from the present format.
  15. What the heck is it with matches with the Shadows so epic that they need commercial breaks?
  16. The advantage the Yankees have is that they have nearly a half-dozen pitchers such as Tyler Clippard that they CAN comfortably deal and not hurt the franchise long term. And for the reputation, the only prospect of any note the Yankees have dealt in the last three years was Ramon Ramirez, who fell off the table this year. The last time they dealt a good young player was the Javy Vazquez trade, in December of 2003.
  17. The Phillies lead the league in runs scored and are last in runs allowed, so that's certainly a fair assessment. The rotation at this point is Hamels, Moyer, Eaton, Kendrick and Durbin. Kendrick can not maintain his success with his peripherals. Durbin's control is awful. The Phils really need another starter to compete this year. Given the market, I doubt they can do it unless they deal Aaron Rowand.
  18. I don't know what's more surprising. That the Phillies hammered 15 runs and 26 hits, or that J.D. Durbin only allowed one.
  19. Here's a source. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/NYY/2007_sched.shtml
  20. 7-14 coming into tonight actually.
  21. New ECW, Monday Night Wars, Prime Time Wrestling, two Dusty Rhodes matches and a house show from the Philadelphia Spectrum. Prime Time has the Steamboat/Honky Tonk Man title change. Monday Night Wars has the Sid/Bret Hart title change.
  22. Look at the NWA champions (while they were legitmate). There certainly isn't a cruiserweight in that group.
  23. All Around (Performance, Looks, Presence) 1. Trish Stratus 2. Bull Nakano 3. Mildred Burke 4. Noriyo Tateno/Itsuki Yamazaki 5. Luna Vachon Looks 1. Trish Stratus 2. Miss Hancock 3. Beulah 4. Marlena 5. Christy Hemme
  24. If you saw the forums the last two days, and knowing the last title change, you should've seen it coming.
