  2. Big win for the Astros, and a huge performance from Brandon Backe.
  3. Tim "Schmuck" McCarver loves the Smart Marks!
  4. Shit happens when your setup man gets into a 19-8 game You've made that point several times, and its a waste of space. Enough of it, or I will take advantage of the temporary posting restriction. It is an EXTREMELY valid point. And you've said it, and no one cares.
  5. Shit happens when your setup man gets into a 19-8 game Stop crying, seriously. No. We had our chance to go to the world series FUCKED because our manager decided to be cute. He pitched one inning. Give it up.

  7. I'm fairly sure its a blown save.
  8. Game two was close, but it was never very exciting.
  9. You're underestimating Bellhorn. Sure he's had a bad postseason. . Bad is underestimating it. A disaster behind the plate and in the field. Really, if you're not going to hit a god damn thing and you're not going to make ANY play in the field, you had better walk. You know as well as I do that 20 at bats is not a solid indicator of a player's true ability. I wouldn't say Jeter is terrible because he's hitting .200 for the same reason.

  11. You're underestimating Bellhorn. Sure he's had a bad postseason. He also had a .373 OBP this season.
  12. I've got the chat running... aim:gochat?roomname=tsmbaseballchat
  13. So the Red Sox/Yankees sucked, but which game has been the best so far in this postseason?
  14. No to Canseco as well.
  15. I agree. There's no tomorrow here.
  16. Fools. Jesus is the Father, Son, AND Holy Spirit. He's registered with three different political parties, and he votes in ALL the primaries.
  17. And you can't ban me because I'll cry, and there's nothing worse than a grown man weeping.
  18. Oh yeah. More than 25 words = BAN.
  19. Not seriously of course, but state your case.
  20. Ok guys. The Mo Vaughn and Tim McCarver jokes have run their course. No more of them please.
  21. I believe so. And I do think Steinbrenner should get inducted. Beyond the rings, the Yankees are a hugely successful, profitable franchise. No team in sports has done a better job building their name like the Yankees have done over the last decade.
  22. In, in and in. First off, McGwire took legal supplements. Second, there is no proof linking these men to illegal steroids. Third, regardless of what they did, the wins still count in the standings. I'd have no hesitation voting them in the Hall. As for Cepeda, I can think of several reasons to keep him out without mentioning drug busts.
  23. Nope. Pinella not yet, maybe someday. McKeon no. No one would have considered him before last season. Torre and Cox yes.
  24. Davey Johnson yes. He brought EVERY team he managed into contention. Gillick I'm inclined to say no. I don't want to say yes unless there's an overwhelming body of evidence to support it. Jon Miller yes.
  25. 27 Games is still a fair amount of games. Although his postseason totals aren't bad at all. .278/.358/.527 postseason, .262/.356/.490 regular season. Jackson was a great hitter in the postseason, and he was a great hitter in the regular season as well. His postseason totals are better, but not insanely better. The more at bats a player gets in the postseason, the more his numbers seem to resemble the regular season. Of course there are exceptions (Mariano Rivera, Bob Gibson), but you tend to get these variations in the regular season as well.
