  1. That match was infuriating in particular. Since it took them so long to do the blood from the ceiling spot, Russo laid in the figure-four for over a minute.
  2. I actually had TNT cut off during Fuji Vice.
  3. The new TNT is up. The show features Adrian Adonis again getting dressed up throughout the show. Nice job of Vince to bring out Bruno Sammartino and pretty much bury Adonis for his conditioning.
  4. I stumbled onto ECW very early. First episode I watched had the aftermath of the Eddie Gilbert/Terry Funk match at the Super Summer Sizzler Spectacular, way back in '93.
  5. The ball is fair if it lands in fair territory past the third/first base. Having established a fair ball by hitting the top of the wall, it's a home run if it does not come back.
  6. Phillies/Jays are back from a second rain delay. Jays need a righty in a tight spot and they turn to.....Roy Halladay? Damn it.
  7. And JHawk wins the league. Congratulations. This was a lot of fun.
  8. I turned this off after the SHOCKING~! turn of David Flair attacking his own father. How anyone can stomach Russo's shit is beyond me.
  9. I think the DeNucci/Hennig tag match is missing, but I'd have to double-check.
  10. Mayhem '99 was one of the worst PPVs I ever watched. Russo was horrible.
  11. Down 3-1 against the Hellraisers, Teddy Higuera tonight tries at least to send it back to my home park for games six and seven. George Brett is out for the rest of the series, that's a blow.
  12. I was skeptical of Hamilton last year, citing his lack of ABs against left handed pitching. He's handled them well so far this season.
  13. Coste appeared to miss the plate with his front foot.
  14. I hate to say it, but the Mets/Yankees game with Johan Santana probably has the most appeal. The Dodgers/Angels game is on the opposite coast so a fan with the means could make a doubleheader out of it. Oddly, the game with the most combined wins is the TB/StL matchup.
  15. The U.S. softball team is probably warming up for the Summer Olympics.
  16. Consider how much of that is open space in Texas. I think it shows well what teams have strong secondary markets and which do not. Before the '93 expansion, the Royals used to claim the entire area from Kansas City west to the Rockie Mountains. Haven't we been expecting it before every trade deadline the last three or four seasons? This year Dunn is a free agent following the season, no club option or anything.
  17. You tied for second place, you're only above the Hellraisers alphabetically. They won the head-to-head matchups 17-7, pretty convincing.
  18. Joe Posnanski's The Soul of Baseball is on sale at amazon.com. An absolute blast to read, if you haven't done so already.
  19. Some of those title matches look very interesting. Stampede: This looks to be Mr. Sekigawa vs. Don Gagne. Sekigawa is better known for his run as Mr. Pogo in Japan. Gagne ended up in the WWF wrestling and managing as Frenchy Martin. Mid-Atlantic: Paul Jones vs. Jack Brisco. Was Jones wrestling babyface yet? Bockwinkel vs. Curt Hennig is listed. It would kick ungodly amounts of ass if that were the 60 minute New Year's Eve draw.
  20. Check out this blog. http://www.bizofbaseball.com/index.php?opt...72&Itemid=1
  21. Why does Vince McMahon hate Randy Savage?
  22. Scroby, how about the talent themselves?
  23. Playoffs kicked off last night. Took my first two games, both on walk-off victories. Won game one with a walkoff single after Kent Tekulve lost the lead in the top of the inning. Game two saw Jose Cruz hit a grand slam in the ninth to win 9-8! Now it's off to Olympic Stadium for games three and four. Now I just need to figure out why my Yankee Stadium playoff games are only drawing 27000.
  24. I was surprised that Bourn isn't quite near the record. The highest percentage I found was Vince Coleman in 1986. Coleman reached base I estimate 209 times. He stole 107 bases, meaning he stole over half the time. My personal favorite season is Tim Raines, 1981. Raines stole 71 bases in 88 games, a pace equal to Rickey Henderson's record breaking season. The runners with 90+ steals tend to have a ratio between .45 and .52.
  25. Vampiro, I'm just being facetious. Note that I went along with it afterwards.
