RAW Summerslam Tour is coming here on August 10th (Sunday before Summerslam) Im going to try and get a ticket. 2 WWF Shows in 1 year is pretty amazing for this area considering we hadnt had one in over 10 years until 2002 when Smackdown came. No show in 03, there was one in 2004 when RAW came, no shows in 05, ECW came in 06 and no shows last year.

USA is actually pretty good about not stretching. Universal's networks seem to be really good about HD. the worst offenders are Turner Networks with the exception of CNN. TNT isnt as bad since a lot of their shows are in HD, but TBS is awful and I cant even watch Cartoon Network anymore.

Im looking forward to their return but wonder how the "trans fat free" version will stack taste.

Then someone who died will have a family member who will sue the oil companies because they didnt give gas away for free to people evacuating or some nonsense and they'll win some obscenely large amount of money. Next week is the big Cap and Trade debate in Congress. We need the cap and trade to stop global warming fund our universal health care, and who better to pay for it than everyone eventually the big evil oil companies, who certainly would not dare pass on those costs to consumers. the EPA has said it will hikethe cost of a gallon of gas at a minimum of $1.50 almost immediately...but hey, we'll have won the war on global warming Universal Health care..but we wont be able to afford to drive to the doctor to use it. Maybe the government will mandate the return of doctor housecalls and traveling surgery teams..

I think you misunderstood 16:9 SD. Its shot with a 16:9 camera that isnt HD, It isnt stretched 4:3 SD. I doubt it will be a very common thing since anyone upgrading now will probably go for the HD, but I think FOX must have gotten burned on a deal a few years ago on 16:9 SD cameras.

Id say NASCAR is probably the worst HD just because of all the fast motion artifacts I get on my 1080i set. BUT.. I saw the Best Buy demo today of an LG set that has some sort of motion filter on it and they used a NASCAR race as the demo footage and it was much clearer to the point I could change my mind. Still..the asphalt in HD doesnt look as nice as grass or dirt in HD does and the 16:9 view doesn't really add much extra to the viewing area. I do give Credit to FOX/ABC&ESPN/SPEED for going all out on the HD for all 3 divisions of NASCAR though, and the main Series has been 100% HD for all races for a couple years now which is much better than even the NFL has been able to do to this point considering FOX still occasionally does a 16:9 SD broadcast and CBS will still have to do I think 2 SD NFL games a week this year. speaking of FOX and 16:9 SD, I think its fun that a lot of people cant tell that some of their 16:9 shows arent really HD. I know Dont forget the lyrics and Hells Kitchen are 16:9 SD for example and I think theres a couple more as well. They actually look good though. Also, on the subject of VHS, there is such a thing as D-VHS and for the longest period of time it was the prefered method of recording HD stuff. 2 hours of HD could fit onto one tape in high speed mode and the lowest quality mode could fit 12 hours of video on a tape at just a tad below commercial DVD quality.

So let me get this straight. Six gallons at .23 a gallon, you waited 45 minutes to save less than a buck fifty on gasoline? Oil fell $4 a barrel today, prices are beginning to fall back. Considering where I stopped on the turnpike was a good 75 miles at least from a gas station in DE, meaning I would have at least burned 2 more gallons of gas and I dont like to run my car below 1/4 of tank which would have been about 3 more gallons give or take, it made sense to me. There was only like, 1 or 2 more free exits off the turnpike for gas between where I stopped and DE too so its not like I could have drove up to a couple miles and got in a shorter line, all the turnpike stops were backed up due to it being memorial day weekend friday and the idiot places only having 3 old guys working to fill up 6 lines (12 pumps) worth of cars. People will drive clear across town to save a nickel a gallon and I cant wait in line 45 minutes to save almost a quarter a gallon ? $2 is $2

It doesnt hurt as much when you know you can get 35-40 MPG. And I dont drive way too much. Even with the 920 miles in the past week, I still have only 11,200 miles on my car that Ive now had 14 months. If it weren't for the fact Im going to Harrisburg/Hershey in about 12 days, I could probably stretch this tank I got today for a good 3 weeks at least.

I find it hard to believe that gas in NJ was $3.72 for FULL SERVICE on the NJ turnpike last friday. I waited 45 minutes just to get 6 gallons of gas (1/2 tank) because right over the Delaware Memorial Bridge into Delaware gas was $3.95 and down here its $3.79. How NJ has gas that cheap and full service to boot is beyond me. I got gas 3 times last week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday for 23 gallons total) and it got me 920 miles til today, exactly 40 MPG.

Wah wah wah. The Yankees lose 5 out of 8 to the Os and get outscored 44-31 in those games and Yankees fans act like its the end of the world. Joe Angel said last night that the plan was for the Yankees to use Joba tonight to keep on schedule with moving him into the rotation and because Pettite hasnt been able to go more than 6 innings. Ian Kennedy is going on the DL now after getting injured last night. The Yankees pitching staff overall is amazingly average at best to maybe even on the terrible side..In the 5 games they have won so far against the yankees they've scored 42 runs (8+ runs avg) and the 3 they lost they scored a grand total of 2 runs. Joba might be their best bullpen guy, but what good is he if they cant make it to the late innings of the game with a lead because the starters couldnt get it done and the bullpen doesnt do any better? If I was a Yankees fan Id be wanting him in the rotation over whoever else they could throw in the rotation.

I love the new Green Tea/Ginger Ale mix that somebody (Cant remember who now) makes. Also, the Mr. Pibb talk reminds me of the American Dad episode where Stan goes nuts and tries to save Mr. Pibb. those umps should be suspended or something for trying to continue the game through that rainstorm. And screw Girardi for using the rainstorm to get a cheap double steal in and then arguing about the rain. The Umps have it in for the Os this year when it comes to bad weather. They played that game back in Chicago through a steady cold rain the entire game to the point where the field wasn't playable at all and they had to suspend the game. then they try and pull this here tonight. Like I said over at the OH, is it going to take someone getting hurt for them to wake up and decide they need to call the game and put the tarp out?
