I know, you're totally right. You can so already tell that they've fucked this one up. Especially since they haven't even started filming this (or finished the script) and no one's seen any pre-production. Man, when is Hollywood going to stop fucking up movies before they start making them? I think the biggest problem is that they don't listen to enough people who post on internet message boards.

The scene with Captain Marvel out of his mind in the underground 'temple' was awesome.

But, but, but it 'plundered box office records.' And it 'sailed past the previous all-time best debut.' And 'Dead Man's Chest collected BIG treasure.' And don't forget how it was 'box office kryptonite to Superman Returns'

Ok, so I read the first 4 issues of Wolerine: Origins, and maybe I souldn't pass judgment until the series has gone on, but MAN has it dissapointed. I mean, this is fucking Wolverine, his backstory is like the Holy Grail of Marvel storyliness. This should have been a slam dunk. The storyline hasn't really been intruiging at all yet, although I will admit there is some foreshadowing that interests me. But focusing on Nuke of all people thus far? Nuke? A character that's was only interesting when Frank Miller wrote about him. Who gives a crap about Nuke? And issue 4 features a cliched brawl with Captain America (over Nuke of course). And from issue 4 and the preview of issue 5, it seems that Emma Frost is going to be a focus now. I just don't see Emma fitting in as a big part of Wolverine's origin story. Furthermore, this is supposed to be the big reveal once and for all when it comes to Wolverine, but so far they've fallen on the same old 'allude to shadowed past events' that they've always done with him. And that brings me to the art. Dear God is this the wrong art style for this title or what? It's just so fucking bland. It might be the worst part about this book. What the hell was Marvel thinking? This title is going to sell regardless, but Marvel is so obsessed with Wolverine, and he seems to be their biggest 'star' (along with Spiderman) so why the hell didn't they pull out all the stops and bring in the star power for writing/art and really hit all the big notes when it comes the Wolverine character. Fuck you'd at least think they'd toss Bendis/Millar/Brubaker (not condoning any of those choices) on it.

Me and my buddies watched all of Smith's movies (Clerks -> J&SBSB) today and then caught a showing of Clerks 2. I loved it, thought it was hillarious, and didn't feel like a cash-in at all. The movie actually felt real and genuine. It's funny, it was so obscene and vulgar (and mind blowingly funny) at parts, but then actually touching moments later. Not the best movie ever (not Smith's best either, but up there), but I'm definately glad they made it. "Forgive me Jesus" made me laugh more than any movie I've ever seen though.

I'll take 'Repulsed by Ugly or Fat People' for 500 Alex.

Hells yeah, that's the Iron Maiden way. If there's bad shit going down in the world you get in your fuckin' airplane and damn well do something about it!

This made me laugh quite a bit.

The JJJ and 'Pop that corn' ones are my new favorites Edit: Damn, I need a new one. The NHL playoffs are hella over.

I always thought Liev Schreiber would be the best choice for Harvey Dent. I mean, the Harvey from Batman: Year One and The Long Halloween looks almost exactly like him, and his style matches the role really well. Whether he'd rock it as Two-Face post acid facewash I'm not sure of, but I could see it.

Oh boy, now Abrams can do to Star Trek what he almost did to Superman!

WP is teh awesomness. And anyone who thinks he's a 'work' is on crack. No one could possibly spend THAT much time over THAT many years doing that.
-
It's a thing with him involving gross and DVD sales total. As long as it makes 33 million total from combining both of them, he's never been disappointed. The lowered expectations of Kevin Smith. When your movie makes back almost twice its budget in the opening weekend alone, I think you're doing alright.

You never know, it could be a thourough study/explanation on thermodynamics and the molecular structural makup of the popcorn shells.

Whedon's (or maybe it was one of the Marvel editors) said that Astonishing sort of runs 'between the raindrops of Marvel continuity.' Meaning that the stuff that happens in all the crossovers is there, but doesn't really play a part in the events of the book. I kind of like it that way since I think that Marvel's obsession with 'earth-shattering events that change EVERYTHING~!' over the last couple years has really hurt their ability to tell good stories since the writers only get a few issues before they have to deal with the crossover and then the resulting status quo change.

Damn, I haven't had a chance to go to the comic book store in ages, but this is definately on my list of stuff to pick up.

Hmmm. You've got a point there. She didn't bring the movie down at all though.

First of all 'very trusted source' is pretty much the same this as 'unfounded rumour.' Secondly, Heath Ledger is a great actor and can do a very wide variety of roles. But wait! Oh noes, he's relatively young and 'pretty' and was in that gay movie, so internet nerds start freaking out. Thirdly, the best casting rumour I heard was getting Michael Keaton to play Joker, that would kick ass. Actually, Crispin Glover would be my first choice, but Nolan knocked the first movie so far out of the park that I think choices he makes about the next one will be right.

That's hillarious. More proof that 'real' news organizations will just troll the internet for their facts these days. I'll bet they got it off of wikipedia on a day that someone had screwed with it.

Dude, you totally forgot to spoil The Usual Suspects.
-
Here's a link to Smith confronting Joel. Pretty funny stuff.
-
Yeah, I think that was in one of the 'prequel comics' or a scene that never made it in or something. It really should have been in the movie.
-
Damn fine Entourage last night. Ari was fucking amazing, it seems that he'd been toned down somewhat in the previous episodes, but this one he was in full form. His reactions when he was on the phone in his office were great. So it looks like Vinnie is pretty much fucked now.

Well I think the Church of Scientology might frown upon that.

People who bitch about "Clark Kent and Superman look teh same so I can't enjoy this Movie/Comic/TV Show" are kinda sad in my opinion.
