I'll second that one. Chavo as a World Champion in any capacity is a joke. Maybe back in 2005 when he was red hot for a couple weeks following Eddy Guerrero's passing, I could see him looking credible in a title opportunity, but NEVER as champion.

Since it's all the same damn group of guys doing it, I'm pretty sure they won't stop until the box office numbers tell them too. I'm just waiting for Movie Movie to be released. From what I remember, its a few of the people behind the original Scary Movie that continue to churn out these turds 5 or 6 times a year. Apparently it's the ones that knew the gags to write, but not the ones that knew how to make them actually funny.

I like the idea of closing the general discussion folders. I hated posting something only to find out it had already been posted on page 17 or a 40-page thread. Sorry, but I don't have the free time to go digging through page after page of a thread to see if something has already been posted. This should make it easier to avoid posting redundant information.

The OAO LIVE Impact thread (3.27.08)
haws bah gawd replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in TNA Wrestling
As much as I enjoy LAX, I'd enjoy them both getting singles pushes. Homicide is a fantastic worker, and could do wonders in the X-Division, while Hernandez reminds me a lot of Mike Awesome. An insanely-huge guy, that's incredibly strong, and way more agile than he has any right to be. I don't see many of the main eventers being able to take a Border Toss, but Hernandez could do well in a singles capacity. LAX is one of the best things TNA has going though. -

Speaking of LAX and Scott Steiner, TNA is the land of forgotten title shots and #1 Contenderships. Abyss must have at least 3 or 4 unused title shots saved up, and I believe Monty Brown had the same amount before he left the company. -

GLOBAL WARMING! WE DIDN'T LISTEN! Just gives the environmental hippies something to boast about. -
Last night's episode was a lot better than last week's, but still not too great. Kenny and Gerald smacking each other around in the sandbox at the playground was pretty damn funny though.

Isn't he injured right now? Judging by how he wrestled in the dark match, I'd say the injury is healed. Vince is probably still pissed at London for laughing right before his limo exploded last year.

It's been done to death, that's for sure. I think Kane even did one.

That reminds me of a house show report from a couple years ago. The house show was being held outside. Boogeyman was still working just house shows and dark matches and hadn't debuted yet. He made his entrance for a match against one of the Bashams, and yelled "I'M THE BOOGEYMAN AND I'M YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!". According to the report, as soon as he said NIGHTMARE, a storm came out of nowhere with extremely heavy rain and lightning. Made for a very surreal visual from what the report said.

Sting attacking the nWo from any given Nitro. You just don't see crowd reactions like that anymore. One man, with a baseball bat, taking out 20 or so other guys by himself. Honestly enough, he and Scott Steiner put on a small miracle at one of the last PPV's of 2000 (it may have been Starrcade).

I was at RAW this past Monday and got to see the Killings vs London match. He was indeed announced as Ron Killings, and came out to some generic rock music, wearing his old TNA attire of baggy black cargo pants with "Kwik" on the back of them. Killings actually got a respectable pop when he came out, and his wrestling was spot-on. He would hit a move on London, then do some dancing, and repeat. Finally, London snuck-in a drop toe hold, and did the robot. Good stuff from both guys. Killings did his usually Booker T inspired offense, and looked really good. I can see him being brought to TV very soon.

Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship: John Cena vs. HHH vs. Randy Orton I can't believe I'm saying this, but I long for HHH to get another title run. The guy is one of the best brawlers in the company, and is always around. Like him or not, he can usually be expected to put on a decent performance. HHH for Champion! I just hope WWE finally brings back Brock's belt as it's WWE title, because the visual of HHH with the spinner around his waist at No Mercy 2007 was quite laughable. The Streak vs. The Title: World Heavyweight Championship Match: The Undertaker vs. Edge This match would have a LOT more drama behind it is Undertaker were going into it as champion. Then he would have everything to lose, and Edge would have everything to gain; that being Undertaker's streak and title. I see Undertaker winning and having a hopefully long and prosperous title reign. The Biggest vs The Best: Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. The Big Show Mayweather wins, and Big Show continues his unremarkable Wrestlemania losing streak. What would that make him, 1-6? The Nature Boy vs. The Showstopper: Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels I really want to see HBK in full pinball mode for this one. I'm talking HBK vs Hogan from Summerslam 2005. I'm just hoping whoever plan's out the match lets Flair kick out of at least 1 Superkick before finally going down. This should be one for the ages. HBK wins. Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Chris Jericho vs. Kennedy vs. MVP vs. Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. CM Punk vs. John Morrison Since WWE is (hopefully) giving Undertaker a second chance with the World Title, why not let Kennedy try to redeem himself a little here? This was going to be Jeff Hardy's crowning moment, but his immaturity washed that all away. I feel Shelton is in this just to do his "run up the ladder and do something crazy" spot. Carlito and John Morrison have less than a zero chance of winning. This will either go to Kennedy or Punk. Smackdown vs. Raw: Batista vs. Umaga Like Edge vs Undertaker, this has the potential to steal the show. Batista has really stepped up his game and Umaga is a great brawler and bumper. Batista will win, then feud with Umaga throughout the Spring on Smackdown. Beltfast Brawl: Finlay vs. JBL Finlay wins after Hornswoggle interferes. I die a little inside. Bunnymania: Maria/Ashley vs. Beth Phoenix/Melina A throw-away match that will probably result in Ashley getting injured.....again. Maria and Ashley will win, and comedy between Snoopy the Dog and Santino will commence. 24 Man Battle Royal/Winner Meets Chavo Guerrero Kane wins and destroys Chavo in the opening match of the show. Kane finally surpasses his previous 1-Day title reign.

I think he and Undertaker had a short WWF World Tag Title reign in the Summer of 1999.

Kid Kash beats Rhino for the ECW TV Title after the entire roster interferes. God I miss the old ECW.

I have a 4-String, and 5-String Bass. I don't play with either as much as I used to, but I can play a couple full songs decently enough.

If anyone cares, WWE has suspended Afa Anoia Jr. for violating the Wellness Policy.

I wasn't all that impressed by this week's show. It had a few funny moments like Butters being taken-away by animal control, but Britney constantly grunting got old really quick.

TheSuperficial.com had this to say regarding the deterioration of her face: It still looks oddly like meth damage to me.

Ew, gross, what are you doing?! HOW SHOULD I KNOW? I'M A FUCKING MONKEY!

How do you explain Rey Mysterio who just got injured again and he's been doing this for 20 years? Roids? HGH? Not changing his style when his body clearly dictates he needs to? Rey Mysterio clearly did change his style, when his body started breaking down. I do agree, that the steroids and HGH have taken a huge toll on him, though. Anyone remember the issue of WWE magazine that was hyping Rey's Summer return? Whatever happened to all those "flashy new moves that American wrestling fans have never seen before"? He seemed to be the same old Rey, with the exception of not taking to the air so much.

I'd like to see Kane become ECW World Champion. Then, if he were to lose the title on the next TV taping, he would lose the title 2 days after winning it, and finally eclipse that 1 day World Title "reign" from 1998.

I've been enjoying the hell out of these old AWA shows. I never caught much of Playboy Buddy Rose, because I started watching wrestling in the late 80's, when he was doing the blow-away diet gimmick. He's awful agile for a man of his stature. He impressed me something awful with his one-armed push ups and jumping over the top rope into the ring ala Lex Luger. On a side note, having never saw much of him other than his feud with Lex Luger in WCW, Stan Hansen RULES.
