  1. 4'33" jokes are a little played out.
  2. Liars - They Were Wrong, So We Drowned I appreciate their desire to branch out and do something new instead of just remaking TTUAIATABAMOT, but an album of tuneless, droning guitar noise really wasn't the direction they should have gone. Thankfully, Drum's Not Dead was something of a return to form.
  3. Cam just released "Curtis Part 2" and it's pretty much the best rap beef-related thing ever. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DS-x8cQo-f0
  4. The only books I've started and failed to finish are American Pastoral and the two William Gaddis books I own (JR and A Frolic of His Own). I'll probably try JR again at some point in the future since the only reason I stopped reading it was that I got distracted by other stuff and couldn't devote to it the attention it deserves. Frolic, on the other hand, was kind of a boring piece of shit, so I probably won't be returning to that one.
  5. This kinda describes how I feel about King Crimson as a whole. I really respect their stuff and understand why a lot of people love it, but outside of a handful of songs ("Starless," "Trio," "The Sheltering Sky," some other ones) I don't really enjoy listening to it. Every time I sit down and try to listen to one of their albums all the way through I wind up getting bored at about half-way point and find myself either reaching for the skip button or moving on to something else entirely.
  6. What? The Arcade Fire practically invite people to read way too much into their shit. I'm pretty sure Neon Bible was intended to be a whole lot more than just a "fun cd."
  7. 00s so far 1. The Fiery Furnaces - Blueberry Boat 2. Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury 3. Radiohead - Kid A 4. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 5. Cam'ron - Purple Haze
  8. 80s 1. Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation 2. Tom Waits - Rain Dogs 3. Talking Heads - Remain in Light 4. Duran Duran - Rio 5. Pixies - Doolittle Might as well do the 70s while I'm here 1. The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers 2. Neil Young - On the Beach 3. David Bowie - Station to Station 4. Wire - Chairs Missing 5. Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
  9. Hahaha
  10. "Change Clothes" is way worse than "Encore"
  11. I don't think I've ever actually listened to a Ben Folds album. For some reason I don't feel a great desire to change that.
  12. 90s albums 1. Blur - Parklife 2. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea 3. Pulp - Different Class 4. Radiohead - OK Computer 5. Tom Waits - Bone Machine
  13. I see no reason to believe it will be.
  14. 1. Street Fighting Man 2. Sway 3. Gimme Shelter 4. Rocks Off 5. Shine a Light
  15. Penultimates: 1. Sonic Youth - "Hyperstation" (Daydream Nation) 2. The Stooges - "Fun House" (Fun House) 3. Radiohead - "Morning Bell" (Kid A) 4. Tom Waits - Bacarolle (Alice) 5. Neil Young - "Motion Pictures" (On the Beach)
  16. Inspired by that brief "Station to Station" discussion, top 5 Bowie songs: 1. Life on Mars? 2. Queen Bitch 3. Always Crashing in the Same Car 4. "Heroes" 5. Rock 'n' Roll Suicide
  17. The Juelz/Wayne mixtape is already out and has been for a while now. It's called Blow: The I Can't Fell My Face Prequel What's coming out this summer is an actual retail album (titled, coincidentally, I Can't Feel My Face).
  18. What? That first six minutes is basically just a really nice slow-burn set-up for "It's not the side-effects of the cocaine/I'm thinking that it must be love" and the four minutes that follows.
