  1. Okay.. this thread is a bit old but I thought I'd refresh it with my thoughts on Backyarding. Now, I'm glad to say that I have trained (a few times, and will continue too when school is not on) at the Can Am Wrestling School. I'm going to continue to do that, because Wrestling is my life. I want to be an Indy wrestler, and hopefully someday make it to the spotlight.. But......... Unlike most people, I do not find legitmate Backyarding stupid. Backyarding with Weapons, Fire, and Crazy Jumps is retarded, but Backyarding where people just go to have fun and hang out with their friends is fine. Sure they may not know how to do moves, but give me a break.. its not like most of them really try anything. Alot of Backyarding is fake punches, and headlocks, and a clothesline or two.. It's not like its anything horrible. I've backyarded before, because I love wrestling.. and everytime I do it.. it gives me that feeling of how much of my life that is.. and how much I want to be a wrestler. When I backyard, I'm not going to be a moron and try Overhead Suplexes, Superplexes, Shooting Star Presses... I'll do.. punching, kicking, DDTs, Arm Bars, Headlocks, Submissions, ... nothing that's got a high chance of hurting someone. I do it for fun, and to have a good time... not to get onto tapes or any of that shit. IMO, Backyarding for the the most part is just a group of friends having fun, and spending time together (and some groups, like mine.. live a bit away so when I backyard.. its more or less to see friends, and do something that we just have fun doing) Oh and if you do commentary in BYW.. you definately have to use ICP type commentating lmao:P
  2. *Jimmy Jacobs & Amazing N8 (nate mattson)* Yah.. I've seen both guys wrestle and they are incredibly good in the ring. Could anyone explain their gimmicks to me? Jacobs has been all over the US Indy Scene working ROH, IWA, CZW i believe... I heard he's got a really wierd gimmick.. if anyone can explain to me, that'd be top notch. Also, I've seen Amazing N8 on occasion (Border City Wrestling).. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about him and a gimmick and what not? From what I've seen he seems kind of like Chris Jericho, but I've only seen him a few times.. Thanks for any help.
  3. what channel is TLN?
  4. this is so hard.. Hart Foundation 2k3 (Jack Evans and Teddy Hart) Briscoe Brothers (Mark and Jay Briscoe) Jimmy Rave Alex Shelley Nate Mattson Petey Williams Chris Sabin AJ Styles Paul London American Dragon Special K Chris Jericho Charlie Haas Chris Benoit Chase Stevens Jason Cross.. holy shit.. theres probably more too but to pick five I'll go with.. 5) Jimmy Rave 4) Chris Benoit 3) Special K 2) Hart Foundation 2k3 (Evans and Hart) 1) Paul London American Dragon would probably be next on the list...
  5. Then just don't watch wrestling? The first time I ever seen this move I was in AWW.. its incredible IMO. Sure it needs helps, but alot of moves today need help. It's a great finisher, and something that may even get a pop from a casual fan.
  6. What the hell? I remember about a month, maybe two months ago RVD used a Split-Legged Moonsault to finish off Mark Jindrak. Everyone on here went nuts saying its retarded and what not. They let lesser moves finish off opponents and people shit on them... they dont let lesser moves pin their opponents and people shit on them.. Can't we just make up our mind and stop contradicting ourselves? As for the arguement.. It doesn't bother me. I've been watching wrestling since I was 3 (1990), and it's been happening since then all the time. Cole isn't that bad of an announcer, everyone doenst like him.. but hes not that bad. Tazz and Cole are decent, but JR and King should both get their spots taken away. Make the RAW announcers Josh Matthews and Paul Heyman.. That would be better for Heyman than fuckin' managing that moron, Heidenreich.
  7. I also wouldnt be suprised if Owen vs Davey Boy was great.
  8. Shawn Michaels vs Jarrett is also an easy **** match, VERY good and VERY underrated.
  9. Fall Brawl 1997.. I've looked at the card and am really interested in picking it up. Can any of you tell me how good all the matches were? Or how bad? thank you.
  10. I wish Nowinski came back.. I actually liked him:(
  11. From Great American Bash 1995 Schiavone and Hennan commentating on Sg. Craig Pittman and his Free For All Match (before PPV) against Scott D'Amore. Schiavone - That is just going to far. He broke his arm, there's no room for that in this sport. Hennan - Oh shutup.. he's got another arm!
  12. Christian - Look on the bright side, Kurt! They won't be chanting you suck anymore! Kurt - Yeah!!!.. Christian - They'll be chanting *singing voice* Your Bald! Your Bald! Lol, Loved that one. Hurricane had some memorable quotes during the Rock/Hurricane thing. Roddy Piper's WHOLE WM 8 promo was filled with memorable quotes.
  13. Alex Wright vs Big Bubba Rogers (Big Bossman) from 95.. that was a styles clash for sure.
  14. I voted Jeff Hardy.. First off it would be a blow to WWE, who wanted him back. Second off.. whether you like him or not.. people do know him outside of wrestling. If he was champ, I'm sure they'd get some more buys. I'm not the biggest Jeff Hardy fan, but I'm sure could do alot for business.. he would need a manager though, because he's mic skills arent that great.
  15. I nominate, "Suga" Shane Helms. Drop that Hurricane Gimmick (That could of been really over, if WWE had good writers) and let Shane Helms roar around with Evolution. Man I wish Jindrak was back on RAW. Cade and Jindrak were actually decent together, and that one or two weeks against Evolution, actually made them look like they had a future.
  16. There's lots of possibilitys. They could do a little Segment where Tajiri & Rhyno face off against La Resistance, where they get Bischoff to say since they lost their chance at Summerslam, they get it on Heat instead... Or they could do a Smackdown match? My choice is a Smackdown match. Smackdown has 4 matches, while RAW has four, plus the diva dodgeball. I have a feeling that heat may be Charlie Haas & RVD versus René Dupree and Luther Reigns. That's my choice. Dupree & Reigns vs Haas & RVD What do you guys think it'll be?
  17. TNA IMPACT! Preview Last PPV... We seen a few very big things happen. Shamrock turned on Jarrett.. Team Canada decimated AJ Styles and his buddies. And many other important things happened. More excitement will be planted on IMPACT! find out by tuning in! -Will Shamrock explain himself? Will he finally tell what side he is truly on? -Will Team Canada continue their ways by dominating AJ Styles in the handicap match? Confirmed Matches The Naturals defend their tag team titles against York & Matthews. Ken Shamrock, Jeff Hardy, and Ron Killings will face off against D'Lo Brown, Raven, and Jeff Jarrett Bobby Rude will face Heavy Metal. ALL THIS AND MORE!
  18. I did it because I had no other big names on the roster. Jeff Hardy, Alex Wright, Killings, are all sitting around 75 overness. Raven is close, but I want to give him one more good feud, before I elvate him. I'm going to play out the Shamrock thing as if It was all planned.
  19. IMPACT! Preview and IMPACT! results should be up tonight or tomorrow. Thank you for you wait.
  20. Alex Wright 1) vs. Ultimo Dragon (Fall Brawl 1997) 2) vs. Ultimo Dragon (Clash Of The Champions 1997, 35 I think.) 3) vs. Chris Jericho (Road Wild 1997) 4) vs. Chris Benoit (Nitro 1995/96) 5) vs. Jean-Paul Levesque (Starrcade 1994) *a few other wrestlers like Benoit and London would of been listed as well, but they've already be done. Benoit, I had two different matches for though.. vs. Alex Wright and vs. Bret Hart.
  21. -- Could of been decent. Psicosis is awesome, and Jarrett can be good. Too bad it says it's a squash. -- Another squash which sucks ass because Jimmy Rave rules. Monty is good, but gimme a break, its not impressive when he kills Cruiserweights everyweek on IMPACT! or XPlosion! -- Should be awesome. I really like Batts & Clark and the Naturals are awesome, I've liked them since the beginning, I liked Stevens before TNA. Should be a very good match. -- Should be a decent match, because Petey Williams is god. Amazing Red is a spot monkey therefore IMPACT! is perfect for him. Matches dont have to be techincal masterpieces, and frankly can't be with a maximum of 10 minutes. Red is entertaining whether he's Spotty or not, and Williams is just amazing. -- Dont know who Sexton is, but watching Raven/Sabu storyline continue this is fine. A squash meaning something is different from a complete meaningless squash like the Jarrett/Psciosis and Rave/Brown. Shitty squash match that sucks, but continues the storyline. -- Should be pretty good. Alex Shelley vs Styles would be a great match down the road. Abyss turn is coming more and more suspected, watch TNA swerve us and make him not turn. Still should be very good. -- As long as they continue to announce matches like that on IMPACT! Go TNA! Sabin vs Williams? Thank you god.
  22. is Magnus even arabian? I'm not going to completely shit on this guy.. but why not bring up Brent Allbright to the main roster instead? The guy is gold..
  23. awwwh shit.. why couldnt we get Jimmy Rave or something
  24. Doink vs Bret, IMO was very very good.
  25. I just watched this event last night. It's not as good as some of the NWA stuff from the late 80's but it was still a VERY Good PPV. Minus the terrible Gonzales/Taker match (at least it was better than the horrible WM 9 match) and the Ludvig/Jannetty match (Borga really sucked, Jannetty tried.. he sold good and made his offense look good, but Borga was terrible) every other match was good/decent. I never watched the Yoko/Luger match though, so that might have been terrible. Perfect/Michaels was good, Doink/Bret was very good, Lawler/Bret was decent, Steiners vs Heavenly Bodies was good, Tatanka and the Gunns vs Headshrinkers and Bam Bam was good, Ramon/Dibiase was decent... overall a very decent event that never gets any praise. Your thoughts?
