Wow, from World Champ to Undertaker's job boy. Couldn't they just keep Luther Reigns and Taker as a feud to WM?
-
Yeah, but I don't think they can just induct 3/5 of the WM1 main event...that's like inducting Paul Roma and Lex Luger as a tribute to the Four Horsemen.

Smackdown and Velocity spoilers from Cleveland

So it's WWE Title Match Angle-Cena Reigns-Taker Booker-Heidenreich Eddie/Rey vs. Bashams Funaki-Spike(?) ....any idea what will fill the rest of the time? -
When did they say anything about Motorhead being at WM21?
-
OMG Gail Kim can win the NWA Title for a 3way match!!1
-
Methinks this is Wade Keller making a story out of a non-story. Heck, Flair could retire from the ring at WM21 too! Of course, Flair could retire ANYTIME. Ditto for Angle. Kurt's made it very clear he will go until he is physically unable to do so. Plus, I'm not sure that jobbing to HBK in the 2nd or 3rd match from the top is the way he wants to go out.

If it's a WM1-oriented HOF, then I predict David Sammartino and Matt Borne to be announced in the coming weeks.

MillenniumMan831, I crack up every time I see your avatar and what's written under it.

With Piper, Orndorff, and Orton, I don't think there's any doubt that Hogan and Mr. T are guaranteed to enter the HOF this year. Also, it would fulfill my markish fantasy booking of Hassan issuing an open challenge for WM21, only to have 'Real American' Hulk Hogan come out and beat him in a 5-minute formulaic match, getting one final WM win.

Methinks it's a nod to Lemmy of Motorhead, his favorite band.

Wasn't that a feud between Madusa and Oklahoma? Speaking of which, remember when they made Jackie WWE Cruiserweight champion? There was someone who was so embarassingly unover, and they turfed her not long after. Madusa held the WCW Cruiserweight Title, not the Women's Cruiserweight Title.

Imagine converting all that to DVD.

It sounds like they meant HHH had not been pinned in a one-fall singles match since 1995. This throws out the SSeries elimination, the NWO01 pinfall, and the JDay 2000 pinfall. However, as you pointed out, HHH was pinned at Backlash 2000.

I was unaware of the story behind the Garvin situation. Thanks for clearing that up, guys!
-
I didn't say it was a GOOD decision, I'm just saying it's not the worst possible decision they could have made. They could have forgotten about the title a la Duane Gill or The Big Show.
-
I had read that nobody wanted that lame-duck reign for fear it would tarnish their careers. Garvin accepted it, however, and the rest is history, I do feel, however, that waiving the 30-day rule for title defenses was an out-and-out stupid decision because it made him look weak(er) in the eyes of the fans. He didn't defend the title from winning it in September until losing it at Starrcade. You'd think they could have had him beat Al Perez or Vladimir Petrov in 5:00 squashes once a month to at least keep him on TV, but they didn't. Also, I disagree with the Russo and McMahon nominations. Both times, the non-wrestlers won the title via a fluke and neither man held it for more than a week. Also, neither one made title defenses or even pretended that they had earned the title. In both cases, the title reign was a plot device intended to put heat on a major angle. However, I do agree with whomever suggested The Big Show's second US Title reign. To put things in perspective, The Big Show held the title for 147 days, the longest reign in seven years. From winning the title in October until losing it in March, The Big Show had two televised title defenses: one over Billy Gunn, one over Hardcore Holly. The rest of the time, he was working as Brock Lesnar's lackey and jobbing in tag matches. He is, in my opinion, the worst transitional champion of all time. At least with Duane Gill he held a minor title and had few possible challengers, whereas The Big Show held the company's #2 title and could have faced any midcarder on the roster.

Heck, he got a HUGE 'U-S-A' chant in PARIS of all places when he wrestled Yokozuna there in 1993.

Fan photographs show that the lights were on when the EMTs were working on him, so I don't know if that's the case. And Fook_Theta, WWE has shown that they have on file the pyro/mic tests of WM6 and WM9 on file as well as old announcer audition tapes, so I really think they could have everything.

Download this spyware, tough guy!

The guy under 'Redneck'.....that's not Jim Duggan, is it?
-
Right now, yes, they sell out. However, WWE is going to be going overseas this year more than ever, so therefore some places will get multiple events in a year, which decreases the possibilities of a sellout.

Did they show any clips of these on the DVD or whatever? Also, at a house show I went to in '98, they inexplicably taped it with multiple cameras, and I kept watching for footage to be shown on TV for whatever reason, but it never was. Weird. This happened at a house show in Greenville I went to in August 2000 also. It seemed to me to be just for purposes of showing something on the big screens since the Bi-Lo Center was sold out and the view from the rafters was good but didn't offer much in the way of details. Happened for me, too, at an Ottawa house show in March of 2000. It was primarily for the big screens, methinks.

What makes you so sure? Bear in mind, people have posted rehearsal footage from PPVs and pyro tests, so I don't know if this is out of the question. Theoretically, couldn't at least one cameraman have been pointing at Owen up in the rafters, waiting to film his entrance?
